Just needed to do a simple transfer…but the app is broken, the website is broken, they can’t do a transfer over the phone. I come in and the teller says I can get a starter check and take a picture to deposit it…except the machine is broken lol. Every single experience I’ve had with this bank has been a nightmare

Took forever to close on home I sold, cost me $340/month and $122,000 over 30 years when I lost APR lock on new home. BOH had 45 day escrow and then they asked for 7 day extension. Can't say for banking but mortgage dept is horrible. House still hasn't closed and don't even have a date yet. NO EFFORT and NO COMMUNICATION. Leave it up to them and you'll be in a hotel forever as you watch your $$$ disappear.

This bank is horrible, they only allowed money to wire in but not allow to wire out at all. And they inactived and locked my account just because I haven't used it and I couldn't reactive with phone calls or online. They only took slow mails method to have my account to reactivate, and with the stupid USPS's huge delay, it helped them to take my inactivate fee. They are just out there to try to take people's money in every way.

A check deposited in the ATM got stuck and was not returned to me by the machine. I called five times and visited the bank twice, and it is now a week later, and there is no resolution. I talked to six different people, and not one has called me back. One time I was put on hold for one hour. This is disgraceful and POOR POOR business practice. I am going to keep calling and visiting the bank until this is resolved. It looks like it may be time for me (and my entire family) to find a new bank. This is customer service AT ITS VERY LOWEST!

Those Central Pacific Bank commercials are a trip! Wonder which BIG bank they're talking about. Hmmmmmm. Haven't set foot in any BankOH since September 3, 2020, when I was so rudely treated by the teller and child managers. Do all my cash transactions at a credit union, now.

We tried to get a Home Equity loan from Bank of Hawaii for $70,000 on a home that's valued at $800.00 plus. We spent weeks and weeks, 6 altogether, sending information. We own the house without any outside mortgage but my husband and I have a private mortgage between us (we purchased the house together in cash before we were married). The bank knew of this mortgage in week two. We both have credit scores of 825+ plenty of income and savings. They just turned us down because of the private mortgage on the house. I don't quite don't understand why that should matter to the bank, the mortgage is between a married couple but that's not the issue. The issue is that they spent 4 weeks asking for additional documents after they already knew about the private mortgage. What a big huge waste of time and effort. They should have turned us down when they saw the private mortgage if that is the reason. I can't tell you how many documents they requested after they knew about the mortgage.

Staff are friendly including the security guard. Not too busy even if you have to stay 6 feet apart.

Today, September 3, 2020, my experience was awful. Since a number of BankOH branches are closed because of Covid, been conducting routine business in the Kaimuki Branch. Recent transactions went fine, but today was a glaring exception. It was a simple transaction. Deposit a 4 figure check from one of my personal Mainland accounts to my BankOH checking account. Get a few hundred back in cash. Got out my ID. I know the drill. Been doing this routinely for walking around money since moving back in 2007. First off, Ms. Lisa misunderstood. Thought I wanted the entire check cashed. But of course deposit slips are DANGEROUS VIRAL FOMITES, so they're not available in the lobby to fill out. The questions impugning my integrity followed. I know because this happens A LOT. "Who's check is this? Where's this check from?" It doesn't happen all the time, but it's happened at BankOHs in Safeway Kapolei, South Beretania, multiple times in Kapahulu, Longs Mo'ili'ili, South King Street and now Kaimuki. It happens enough that I wrote the BankOH president, not that it did any good. I've also been asked "How often do you get these checks?" "As often as I write them." Duh! My reaction to these tellers is: Can't you see my name printed on the check? Have you never heard of Wells Fargo? They have a bank, one of the largest in the nation. Doesn't your computer screen show that I've done this since 2007? I KNOW it shows recent transactions, along with the fact I've been banking with BankOH since I opened this account in January 1976 at the Pearl Harbor Branch, now the Pass Office, as an Ensign in the US Navy. So, how many of my Mainland checks deposited in BankOH have bounced since 2007? The answer is NONE. NOT A ONE. And how many BankOH checks I ever wrote, going back to 1976, have bounced? I can't recall any, although Ensign pay was not much 44 years ago. Because of Check 2000, I haven't written a BankOH check since 2009 or 2010 when I ran out; I paid for these checks, I want them returned. Besides, NFCU issues two free cashiers checks/day, plenty for bills not paid online. But that wasn't all, Ms. Lisa went on to question my U.S. Department of Defense Photo ID, an ID good to enough to get on a plane next month. She claimed the picture doesn't look like me. Now it IS a terrible picture, but how you can you tell when I'm wearing a mask? I took out my new drivers license, an even worse picture, but she didn't want to look at it! Back in the 1980s, a nice, new, because he wasn't yet jaded, HPD graduate, was handling drivers licenses at the Pearl City office. He offered to retake my photo it was so bad, but why bother? Not gonna be any better. Ms. Lisa then asked about the ID issue date, noting it was issued in 2012. So? Last year, my drivers license was eight years old. What's the problem? Or rather, what's YOUR problem, Ms. Lisa? I have no patience with this blatant profiling any more. Too old to put up with it. Hawai'i boasts about its care and reverence for kupuna, or tupuna, as they say where my grandfather was born. But this haole-looking kupuna, pushing seventy, gets treated like a fraud perpetrator when I'm just trying to deposit a check for some ready cash. BESIDES, I ALREADY HAD ENOUGH FUNDS IN MY ACCOUNT TO COVER THE CASH BACK AMOUNT! Just didn't want to fall below the minimum balance level and incur the minimum balance fee. Jeez! These tellers are either poorly trained, or not doing their jobs properly, or trained in profiling "certain folks." Ms. Lisa could have checked all this on her computer without giving me the third degree. In an attempt to avoid looking homeless and being interrogated, I even wore hot, uncomfortable clothing, instead of my usual shorts and a t-shirt, to no avail. On any given day, how many kupuna walk into a BankOH to defraud it? Enough to justify harassing long time customers? Or are tellers trained to quiz certain customers who don't look "loc

Today I was helped by Lisa from Osaka Japan. She was such a kind old lady. Excellent customer service no problems at all. The parking is a little annoying however as it is kinda inconvenient but they stamped the validation and there was no fee at all. The Covid 19 precautions taken were satisfactory and safe without being too crazy. I would definitely come back to this branch now that Kahala one is closed. It wasn't busy and had ample parking with a tiny bit of a walk.

BAD BAD BAD !They only cater to a certain group of clients. They are only nice to selected group of people. When I was in business around the corner they gave me nothing but a hard time every time I had to do my banking there. They don't send me my monthly statements and BLOCK me from getting it on-line. They block my password and user ID. They won't let me sign up for a new user ID account. They are bossy and rude to me. They make demands that they know are impossible to fulfill. They lie to me all the time. They wasted my time and gave the run around , go here go there, do this do that. In result they never did what they claim would do. Never go back there for 25 years. The world should know. Thanks to google.
