The worst rental experience I have ever had.We arrived at 8 am opening time and it took 1 hour and 30 minutes to get our vehicle. We missed our excursion deadline because of this.They are understaffed and they need to fix their printers that jam every time they print.They also didn't have an intermediate car we booked through Costco. We had to take a minivan at standard rate.The staff seemed nice enough given the conditions they were dealing with.

Awful place to get a car. They only have one agent and share the desk with Avis, so they service both companies. I have been standing in line for 1 hour and they have only serviced about 5 people in that time. Rent from somewhere else if you want a car, this place is ridiculous.

As others have already said, this location is understaffed, and the employees are very curt.Despite what you have seen in other reviews, there is now a late night drop-off option. There are instructions, but it is a convoluted trip to the other side of the mall where you park.In case you wanted to try, there is no discount if you park overnight in the pinlckup area.If cars are available, the sheraton avis is much nicer and sometimes able to provide overnight parking.

Great staff, but directions and location is terrible. No signage at all to let you know where to return the car ( parking garage Level 5) and then return the keys (bottom floor near the escalator hidden almost)

I rented here four days in a row to avoid paying overnight hotel parking fees. Each morning when I picked up, Dennis was there cranking through the line of renters like a machine. Kudos to the man. Know that even though you reserved a car when they open, so has everyone else so just wait patiently. Don't expect to be pulling out of the parking garage at 8am and plan accordingly.Bear in mind this is an older and/or smaller location shared between Avis and Budget without any sort of express check-in. You will have to be manually processed so have your license and charging credit card ready.And though they don't advertise after hours drop-off on the location website and even when you call into Avis customer service (I tried), they do have it but it's not a guarantee. I added a picture with the instructions.Note that it is *not* guaranteed. After hours drop-off will only be available if you can find parking on the 5th or 6th floor (confirm that with them; I never used it). Otherwise you're stuck with the car overnight. Personally I returned to the Sheraton down the road where you park your car on the 7th floor and return the keys to the desk bright and early when they open.

Paid about a thousand to extend my rental. Apparently there's no communication going on in this company because when I didn't return the car because I'd extended my term, they tried to charge me with grand theft auto. They made one phone call and didn't try to contact me any further, instead contacting FRIENDS AND FAMILY telling them that I committed a felony. That was fun. Refund pending now, they're making me pay the security fees though (they're making me pay for them trying to indict me). Just a crook company riddled with incompetence.

I highly recommend making a reservation otherwise you'll have a longer process of getting a car. I made a reservation ahead of time and we were able to get our car in a good amount of time. We had to wait maybe, 30ish minutes in the line but that's because there was a line. I'd def recommend them!

Great experience. Being from outside of the US we got a car super cheap~50$ with 3rd party liability and a damage waiver. Plus the car was a dodge charger which was very fun to drive.

I used two different rental companies on my trip: Budget Honolulu and Alamo Kona. The line for Budget zigzagged out the door and took an hour inside, then another half hour in the parking lot. Even though I am a Blue Chip member to skip the counter, I wasn't able to because I used a third party discount. In addition, the car I reserved had not returned yet so we opted for first available which turned out to be a tiny Chevy Spark (on the bright side, it was very easy to park). In comparison, our experience with Alamo in Kona was smooth sailing as we drove past the Budget in Kona and saw their long line out the door.

I rented twice from Budget Rental Waikiki for a week during my recent trip to Hawaii. I was very happy with the service I received. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they made the rental process very easy. The car I rented was clean and in good condition.There was a lot of confusion about the location of this rental. It is right on the entrance of the international market place if you enter from the Kuhio Ave & Nahua St.There is no dropbox if you plan to return rental after business hours but you can drop the car at the parking garage (same location as pickup) and return the key the next morning.

The car needs to be returned to the same parking level from where you picked it up.Don’t forget to leave the reservation booking slip (the one you receive when picking up the car). You need to fill in the ending mileage number along with how much fuel is left when returning.You also need to submit your parking ticket and fuel receipts.You can drop off the keys at the security office on the same floor ( this is not visible from where the cars are parked).

Incompetent road side assistance though they had decent front line staff. Rental car got hit and nobody there to pick us up. Roadside assistance atrocious , incompetent and negligible

Do the express check in... wait in line anyway to get a car. Then the car, holy cow!! From the crackling radio to the brakes that are so worn I was literally worried to use them, I will NEVER rent a car from this company again! Horrid service and the car was a piece of garbage, next time I rent a car it will be from someone else! Do not use this company, pay the few extra dollars and go with a reputable company.

Tony is the man. I pre booked a sedan to drive up to the north shore for a day. Scoped out the office the day before and it turn out to be a shared desk at the information desk under the escalators near purveyors coffee. Unfortunately they did not have my sedan and poor me, got a free upgrade to a jeep. Tony was nice, respectful, and professional.

Staff was nice , but what they don’t tell you is the Tesla fiasco. On the island there is only 1 super charger station . They need the car charged at 70 percent before returning but good luck with that . The super charger wait is nearly 3 hours at times .if we knew this and just had a basic car it would have been a great experience
