Employees are very helpful and always with a smile or a store. And if you can't find it there they do.

The employees racially profile and discriminate in regard to their bag check-in policy. Not a single employee offered to help me, but one did chase me down in the store to make me check in my small bag and the rest overtly ignored me.

Service is never "good" but today, particularly bad. I asked a product question, and the employee clearly didn't know the answer. His partner next to him was slumped over the counter and apparently didn't feel like joining the conversation. Employee #1 just said, "I dunno, I guess you can not use it for that". He didn't bother to find out, and I didn't want to waste my time and money only to redo it. Fortunately, I came across another older employee who knew the answer and said the product was fine for my application.....

Ample parking. Lovey employees. Good inventory. I went today (Thursday afternoon) to get custom paint. The legendary Bob O. helped me at the paint desk. He was sweet and very efficient. Bob made sure I knew what mix to ask for if I needed more of the same custom paint. Funny enough, his other half and her friend stopped by, and he was informing them where to find all the things they needed. I swear he knows the whole store! Makes sense given he's been at City Mill for about 10 years. The cashier who rung me up was also super nice. She asked if I needed a shopping bag because I was juggling wiper fluid and a quart of paint. Everything was super affordable! The windshield wiper fluid was only $3.25! I'll definitely come back!

Kinda was disappointed. Let me start by saying the guys working in the aisles where great and went out of their way to help me look for what I was trying to find even though in the end we were not able to find it. After checking a different location and not finding what I needed I looked online to see what locations actually had the product, called before going down and was told they do have the product in stock. Get to the store, look and can't find it, ask a worker what aisle is it in, look again, ask for help finding the item, all three of us can't find it. Was told that someone probably packed it when they were redoing the aisle and didn't put it back out or something.

It’s our “go to” hardware store when need stuff right away or hate to drive out beyond town. Lots of staff around the store to help you.

City Mill has the worst website which is hard to navigate and understand. I was online looking at a Little Giant King Kombo 8ft ladder they had advertised as clearance for $41.95. This ladder goes for $160 to $200 dollars normally. I went to order 2 ladders online and when I went to check out it said to enter my zip code to make sure it is in stock. Then a web page appeared saying there is no ladders in stock for pickup at store in all the stores on Oahu. What a farce their website is. It is like baiting you to come into the store if you only saw the ad and then wanting to go into the store to buy it. It is a good thing I tried to purchase the non existing ladders so that I didn't waste my time going to City Mill which was falsely advertising their products. This is not the 1st time and I usually do not complain, but this is the third time that this has happened. Lucky for us the is a Ace hardware that is more honest in their advertising practices a few miles away unlike City Mill's deceptive advertising practices. Don't take my word, type in 319145 in their website search box and see where it says, "available for store pickup, and additional quantities in store." Then try to order and a web page pops up showing there is none available at any of the City Mills on the Island of Oahu. Today is 12/18/2023. That is why I prefer Home Depot and Ace Hardware.

Stood there for 30 minutes waiting for my keys to get duplicated to receive attitude by one of the employees about my keys being done. The gentleman made me fill out a form with my contact information and told me to wait until I am called upon. So I patiently waited. And was never called. I later followed up with the same employee just to check in and got talked to like I was a problem, rather than a customer. Generally speaking, the people are very friendly and helpful at this location. Times are hard, finding good workings is difficult and I understand good workers can feel overworked in an understaffed local shop. However, whoever was taking care of key counter was just so unpleasant for no reason. To receive attitude when I was patiently waiting and just wanted an update? Perhaps this is why people opt to go to other places. Support Salz down the street if you need keys duplicated. It's a shame they are closed on Sundays.

Mostlyfriendly and helpful employees. Not always, especially when they feel my inquiries interrupt their stocking duties. Then again, itʻs important to support local family owned businesses.
