I went in for a routine blood draw. Staff was friendly, and they drew my blood in a timely manner. However they did not send my blood work to my doctor, which he needed to fulfill my prescription. Both my doctor and I have called multiple times asking them to fax over my results and nothing has happened. I have ended up running out of my prescription.

Located in the basement of Kapiolani Medical Center (the old side), is where you can find them. I've visited on two occasions and both experiences had no issues. Both adults and keiki can get tests done here which is great, especially since their hours are longer than some other locations in the area. Customer service is great. I called another location and they were so rude, but when calling this location they were nice and very knowledgeable. When working with my screaming/bawling child, they were understanding. I would definitely recommend this location if you have to have blood work done for a small keiki...or keiki in general. To me, you only got one chance (to get the vein) or else #yikes?! Parking is in the new structure and a tiny walk..unless you do valet. Overall, I'd totally recommend this location for tests!

Second time going to Clinical Labs at KMCWC. Both times I was in and out in perhaps 15 minutes. Could be that I came during off-peak hours? Or perhaps not very many people are aware of this location since there aren't any signs outside. I mean, I live ten-ish minutes away on foot and I never think of getting my lab work done here. I called as I was walking out the door to make sure they were open, and to see if an appointment was required. My call was answered in one ring, was told blood draws don't need appointment, and it's not busy at the moment. The lab is located on the basement floor of the main/old hospital building (physicians' offices wing). Take the elevators that are on the left side of the lobby; the ones on the right take you to the physicians' offices. The last time I came they had giant paper flowers decorating the reception wall! (Can't even remember when that was... Maybe last year? 2019?) Overall, this is a lot more convenient for me than the Straub lab for sure! Better hours (open daily 6:30am-8:30pm as of August 2021) and no appointments needed for blood draws. I did get poked twice though, but fortunately such tests are not required too often so I am willing to endure that to save time and for convenience. Courteous service both times. #37

They don’t seem to know how to do certain types of labs and seem to give you the run around while they figure it out. It didn’t feel like a professional lab. They also would say they’ll check on something and I wouldn’t get an update for 15-20 minutes. Even though they ”seemed” busy with only two patents in the waiting room, overall, pretty lackluster experience.

Fast and easy blood draw. Painless professional. You can always tell how good the nurses are by how painless and professional the blood draw is. Highly recommend.

Bad experience #2: I called to find out about options for a send out test to Integrated Genetics. The woman answering the phone couldn't answer my question so I was asked to call back when the send outs person came back from lunch. I called back less than an hour later and spoke with Leilani. I asked Leilani about acceptable specimens for a genetic test. She told me a blood sample was required. I inquired about the buccal swab that IG(LabCorp) has listed on their website as acceptable. She was clueless about what I was asking then said Oh! a "bookal" swab. We don't have that. I tried to explain to her that it is listed as acceptable by IG and if she contacted them she can order it and they will send it for free. Nope. She didn't want to hear about it, cut me off and directed me back to my provider to ask him about it. Talk about lazy a*** She didn't want to do anything more than minimum. I didn't bother mentioning that I'm a MT and know exactly how the system works and did my research before calling. This is my second bad experience with CLH. The lab world is a small place and word gets around when you're a lazy a** and barely do minimum.

I hate blood draws. I know no one loves them, but my veins are apparently so small and hard to find that when I was going to give birth the place I was at had to call in a specialist to find a good vein. I've had my blood splattered on walls, poked numerous times while the technician tried to find one that would work. So needless to say, when I walked in to this clinic I wasn't expecting much. Sure enough as the technician felt for a good vein with her fingers on my right arm she commented that she wasn't feeling a good one. Here we go again, I thought... but I was wrong - the same quick finger test on my left arm produced a vein she decided to use. So I braced for the needle p***** I also HATE needles. I swear, this time - for the first time in my life - I didn't even feel anything. The only way I knew she was done was when she reached to grab a bandaid. I kid you not, she was that good. She also kept apologizing for keeping me waiting because they got busy all of a sudden. I didn't know what she was talking about. I showed up doing lunch time (which I assume was a busy time) and was probably out the door 10 minutes later. They also fully validate your parking (normally I have to pay at least $1 whenever I go to any doctor appointment. The only downside is the parking/location. I was really close to Kapiolani Hospital at the time, otherwise I would have gone someplace else as I figured it would take me an hour just to find the place. Sure enough, getting into the elevator I already had to choose whether I was going to the medical center (level 4) or the main hospital (level 1). However after getting off on the first floor I was met by a hospital, whose job I think is to help direct confused visitors and patients. He held the door open for me and asked if I wanted to go to the medical center. I answered with.... "I'm not sure... I'm trying to find the lab." He smiled and quickly told me to walk past valet / patient drop off and walk into the main hospital. Turn right upon entering and talk the elevator one floor down into the basement. I followed his directions and sure enough, as soon as I exited the elevator in the basement, there was the lab. I'll definitely be back the next time I need lab work done.
