There has been a tug of war with FHBThe changes to their system the struggles of staff shortages and insane lines of long wait times altering their services to Priority Banking Services all negative negative ZERO stars!!!My work paycheck is from FHB yet I'm unable to deposit it through the ATM and was suggested to use the depository or digitally on the app "Hell No!" Why do I need to alter my choices because theirs don't work, I've given up and just go in to make a deposit sadly.Well this location came convenient as I had other places nearby I was visiting and the parking "a ton", wait time "none", process time "wicked fast", super nice and clean immediate greet upon arrival all friendly staff does make it a process worth five stars. As banking are suffering globally I can imagine the struggle they're trying to figure out. I just appreciate any service that tries and here it's great!Thank you!

The tellers are fantastic. Unfortunately their rates to borrow are higher than other local banks, and when my account got hacked I waited on the phone for 50 minutes with music playing. It was time critical that I shut down my account and I couldn't get a live person on the phone for 50 minutes while $3000 was exiting my account via a Venmo hack. They need a designated fraud line for this day and age where hacks happen, and you need to get through quickly. They just put you on hold with all the other poor FHB customers who are also waiting 50 minutes to get a question answered. Finally when I got through they realized it was an emergency and were extremely helpful, but those 50 minutes were so unnecessarily stressful.

I can't believe that I'm writing a review of FHB. Never expected to be doing this. FHB changed their procedures several months ago. This involved closing the drive thru window. I almost always only make deposits. I need a receipt because I'm making business deposits and they can be large and involve many individual's checks which if the deposit is lost would involve an enormous time to resolve. My most recent visit to FHB - Aina Haina (I'm sure this is true of all branches), took me 21 minutes to make a deposit. Everyone around me was showing their tiredness. RECOMMENDATION: Clear out the area. Put in a large sitting area of chairs appropriately spaced for health considerations. When entering for something involving the bank tellers, you take a number and a seat. When its your turn they call your number. In the interim, you can do work, watch TV, play a computer game, do your home work, etc.

The tellers & employees are terrific! Friendly. Kind. They do the best they can. They are Just critically understaffed. I've been a FHB account holder for 40 years. I've noticed over the years that the leadership has gotten worse & worse & the last 5 years ... terrible. The FHB administration needs changes in leadership. Not sure how else to say it. Leadership weakness is invisible to customers but obviously there.

I did not like my experience with Andy the teller. He needs more training how to be professional. He says the amount in my account out loud. That is such personal information! I softly told him he doesn’t need to say that information out loud and he just blatantly ignores me. To check if he heard me I asked politely did you hear me? He simply says yes I did. Then he asks who wrote my check and actually waits for a response because the date was a day off. He does not need to know who wrote the check in order to tell me the date was written for the next day. On top of that the teller next to him looks up to see who he’s talking to. I would expect better trained tellers then this. I always loved FHB been a customer for years. First bad experience there. I will be moving branches. Like the other comment said it’s worth it to drive to the next closest branch!

I am very disappointed with the new call system when I called the bank. I waited on hold for 30 minutes and was connected to a call center. I wanted an appointment for a notary service at the branch which is by appointment only. Then I had to wait while they called the branch only to be told that the branch was not picking up. I left my number for a call back. I know it's Covid but the scale back on service is so dramatic. I hope that service improves in the future. It would be nice if they had an online system to take requests, even if the appointments were booked out. Adding this update and a star. Went in to deposit a check and was helped with the task by a helpful staff member who also took the time to notarize some documents even though we did not have an appointment!! Personal interaction and service still comes through after all. Thank you!

I usually go to the Kapahulu First Hawaiian Bank since it is near my house, but this location is much better. Banks are just places to keep money secure, so normally I wouldn't expect much when it comes to service, but this location has the best service out of all locations I have visited. Staff members actually smile and make you feel welcome. When I go to the Kapahulu location, I always want to leave ASAP because I can feel the staff staring at me as I fill my deposit slip. It's a little extra drive from my house, but I'd much rather come to this First Hawaiian Bank.

Today I called to ask about my cd that would mature on 11/23/18 - i waited 10 minutes on the phone for a real voice. The Walter Dod days where customer service was paramount is gone. When I spoke to the csr, she got the date wrong for my maturity date, and then when I told her about my 10 minute wait, she said it was the call center. So, yea FHB time to kulia ka nuu again, otherwise, Im taking my $$ somewhere else.
