This is the worst bank I’ve ever been to. They close early every day and don’t even open on weekends. Every time I come in at 3:30 they refuse to wire money. They incompetent, rude, and are never open.

Horrible customer service! Especially the lady with silver short hair. Super rude and unprofessional! I tried to open up a checking account and she was super impatient and snatched documents out of my hand. After this experience I cancled my application and will be opening my account at another branch!

30-40 minute wait to speak to customer service for an error on fhbs side. Can't do business like this. So frustrating. Gonna find a better bank.

Terrible customer service . The bank sent my debit card late after it expired. I called them several times before it expires to inquire about my debit card . They kept telling me it shows they sent it. Called one last last day before the expiration day and they finally say they sent it to the wrong address a while back. I talk to supervisor and she left me on hold and said she would call back and I didn't receive a call back . I'm literally going to switch to another bank because it's insane how I called several times and it took them last minute to solve the problem. The inconvenience of callings is unacceptable, sending my personal information to the wrong address is unacceptable, and the fact that I couldn't use my debit card because it was expired is unacceptable.

FHB is not a great bank. The way they conduct business is unsatisfactory. I'm really glad that I received a threatening letter from their Vice President & Indirect Retail Manager. What a title! Why am I really glad? It made my choice of bank where to put my 401K and my funds. I guarantee it won't be FHB.

I just want to thank Raphaela for her amazing customer service, she took the time to call and help me reset my bank account with attention to detail and patience. People like her truly caring about the customer is hard to find and experience nowadays! I hope she gets a raise for her outstanding servitude! She is an asset to First Hawaiian Bank Kahala! please give her the recognition and praise she deserves ! God bless her and her ohana!

I have been with this bank for over twenty five years, have had numerous accounts and had my business account here for ten years. It used to be the best, most professional bank, with excellent customer service. I always used to feel that I mattered as a customer. Over the years, my account rep moved to another division, and all my reps since hardly call, never give the answers I need, and really do not follow up on questions. And when I go into the bank, there are some really great tellers, and some who are ok, but the manager and the people who coordinate the notary and other customer services are SO rude and uncaring. Seems like the point is to refuse services more than provide them..I am looking for another bank for sure

The customer service here is great, the lines are usually long but it moves quickly. I would like to note that the tellers have always been friendly and warm. I am giving two stars because the MANAGER has serious personal hygiene issues and they were on full display on my last visit. We're in a pandemic, people are supposed to be wearing masks. I could not read her nameplate it looked like Miriam possibly but she was wearing a face shield that only covered part of her face, no mask. She started hacking coughing while I'm waiting for a cashiers check. I'm panicking because I know someone in the back is going to have to approve this and I'm hoping it's not going to be her touching my check and ID. I see after she's coughing, she wipes her mouth, removes the shield, eats a musubi and then does not sanitize her hands. She gets up, starts touching a whole lot of things in the back area and then finally goes to the bathroom where I hope she washed her hands. Of course she is the one who has to sign off on my check. If the manager can't even follow simple protocols to protect the employees and customers, who will?

DO NOT BANK HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. This bank will hold your funds and if a CASHIERS CHECK is lost by USPS they will demand to HOLD YOUR FUNDS FOR 90 DAYS instead of stopping the check like a normal bank and reissuing. They aren't open normal hours. They hire actual idiots. Avoid this bank and save yourself the hassle.

Try not to think Im just trashing this bank cause of one incident. I am being as honest as possible. I live on kauai and was a banker since 2008 when I opened up a personal and 30yr fix mortgage. Lets just say The mortgage was around the predatorily hungry agents and pretty much just stuffed this home loan down my throat! Turned out to be biggest nightmare. No no not like just fees like fraud mortgage Fraud! Not going into it but Ill be short on most from now on to save from a million pages of negligence to my accounts. I started at Princeville branch, migrated to Kapaa and was pressured into opening my joint account with siblings so they could do auto tranfer to pay mortgage. Ok told me I had to! My siblings had no way due to bad overdrafts and made me yea made me and reassured it would be monitored for any activity other then paying monthly mortgage. Built home lived in it for 4 years moved to mainland and return with 90 60 7x 30 day late fees but my credit only my credit was damaged. They tell me my siblings where on time! I was then after trying to have it explain led deleted yes deleted my personal my cards and I had to jump through hoops to get account back minus all mu cash few hundred. Double charges fees for nothing banned from customer service account hacked no prior staments. All toghter couldnt account for anything thousands lost. Police harassed me arrested me heart failure no transparency flying papers at me making feel like trash telling me I was only a banker simce 2015 and then 86 from lihue tom the VP tells me its all better now so whats wrong!!? I WAS SO UPSET BECAUSE NO ONE CARES NO ONE NO ONE THEY RUN A MAPHIA TYPE BANK THAT IS ONE BIG JOKE AND FRAUD!! Stay away go to credit union. Online banking is joke and they are all anout fees i was feed over 10,000$ banker since 08. But tell me since they wipped me from any evidance of there criminal ways I waa only a 2 year banker. Not the 12 honest to god its way worse but you get the point they are crooks!! Fake and money hungry narcissists

They charged $2.50 per page to get bank statements for my late mother's bank account. The banker failed to explain over the phone the required paperwork/authorization to get the statements at the local branch and wasted a lot of my time.
