I know I have an overdraft; yes, I do sometimes deposit late, but sometimes right away. Yes, they charge $35.00 each, but they don't have to lock my online banking. I called assistance; they called the branch. I waited over 1 hour, and they said ok, and it's still locked. They call assistance, I do it all day long—hold the phone, never figure it out. Yes, I'm not a bigger customer, so they ignore me. I feel it. I'm tired of calling. I try to use ATM deposits because I'm self-employed and can't go during the daytime, so I use the deposit ATM early in the morning. You can see my history.It's not just one time; it's such a waste of time—every contact, waiting for a call, even leaving my phone number. They call me after a day. What is this? They said it's a 24-hour service, but they close service calls and tell me to call the next day during open hours. I went in this morning and I was there for my 11 am appt but they took the person without an appt before me!! She wanted to get onto her safety deposit box so I waited 20 minutes!! Why bother making an appt!! Then I got 4 emails yesterday confirming appt canceled appt then 2 hours later appt back on for same time confirmed then they take the person who came after me!! What losers and dodo birds!! I'm so glad I will be closing my acct next week!! Then there was a line of 25 people and only 3 tellers at 11 am pathetic worst of the worst horrible!! And the customer service manager kind of Indian looking is extremely rude .!!!

FHB places so many barriers to bank with them. Choose any other bank!! I've been with FHB for decades and the service has slowly eroded. I have moved all my accounts away from FHB. A couple years ago they had charged me for using a FHB ATM to view my FHB account balance. It took me so long and multiple phone calls to get them to reverse those stupid charges!! They kept telling me to call the 844-4444 number to request balance so I don't get future charges. What even is the point of the ATM?!? Their bank hours aren't friendly for people that work M-F so that leaves only Sat for banking. But the lines on Sat are soooo ridiculously long because they don't staff a lot of tellers. Over the years banking on Sats has gotten to be quite a chore. Also, when I do go in and try to take advantage of the drop-in teller box, they are always out of the deposit slips to include with the envelope. The last time I popped in to FHB by the University, they had put a board over the drop in deposit box... FORCING you to stand in the longest line ever to do a deposit with the 1 teller helping 23 people in line. Why even have the illusion of being a bank for the people if you take away all the convenience of banking there!! Yet another barrier is that FHB requires you to come in person to do bank transfers. It cannot be done through the app. FHB issues have been bugging me for so long and that dumb board blocking the drop in deposit box was the straw that broke the dam!! I don't normally write reviews but I just can't stand the horrible service at FHB anymore and I want this review on their yelp page. I've called them many times over the years and spoken to their management about it but the decisions that their leadership is taking has brought their customer service to new LOWS!! American Savings Bank and Bank of Hawaii offer much better customer service. Credit Unions are super awesome too!! Pick any where else. You'll be much better off than with FHB!

Ive never had good experiences with First Hawaiian. The take the most fees, give people a hard time when depositing for someone else. They always seem to tell you what they "cant do" vs what they can...so sad.Credit Unions are just the better option in my opinion.

I’ve been to this bank on multiple occasions and I’m not joking when I say I’ve had a bad experience every single time. This company should fire Denise. She has a hostile personality and sets a bad example for staff. She treats people like thieves instead of potential customers and It felt racial to me. You should work towards winning people over who are non-customers but as long as people like Denise is managing then you’re spinning your wheels.

Bad service, first time I got this bad experience. I just withdraws 1500$ for my rent and the lady said it’s too much for rent ? Do u really know how much for rent in Hawaii. And she said my id was expired but my expired year 2024. Wth?

Horrible service at the AlaMoana branch. Unfriendly, long waits and when asking a question they always tell you what they can't do?!?! They ordered a debit card for me that never arrived . I had no access to the atm and my money. I was subjected to go in and wait in looong lines. I called the number listed for the Ala Moana branch numerous times that had a minimum of 1 1/2 hour waits on all days and times. I finally decided to wait and after an hour and 40 minutes a "call center" answered who could not assist me they then had to call the Ala Moana branch for 30 minutes with no answer! Unbelievable.I went to the University branch and the teller offered to expedite my card at no charge by sending it to the branch. It arrived in 2 days.

The parking lot was empty but the line inside was about 7 deep which moved faster than I thought it would and at least you don't have to wait outside in the hot sun like at the liliha branch. The employees are nice and friendly too!

They have (1) one drive up ATM. They have (1) one ATM that is walk up out side on the Mauka side of the building. This 'First Hawaiian Bank University Branch' {HVAC} : Air Conditioning is GREAT. With their super high ceilings it must not be cheap. ADA Parking. (3) Three ways to exit via motor vehicle. Chairs are available whilst you wait to see a specialist. Their pens are never out of ink

I am so upset! I went to University branch to pay off my auto loan, paid full amount I was told to pay on 7/16/22. After 1 month, the title hasn't been mailed as of 8/20/22, so I called customer service and she said I still have the balance of a dollar something which is interest. What!? I thought I paid off and was waiting for the title all this time! This is ridiculous! They caused me such an inconvenience for not taking care of my deposit right away which created an interest in my account. I will not use First Hawaiian Bank again.

What a joke. Only branch open on a Saturday and there are only 2-3 tellers working. Line almost out the door. The last "Hawaiian" bank I'll choose when getting my next loan.

Been standing in line for a while.. had checked on line as it said live and not to busy!! Yeah right 3 tellers helping 1 lady !! And nobody is going anywhere!! I was #13!!!
