Foodland Farms Ala Moana is one of the better grocery stores on the island, located on the ground floor of the Ala Moana complex. It is very clean, well stocked, and offers a whole top-tier experience. This is no normal grocery store. It features a great wine bar and an in-house bar, a fantastic poke counter, a massive ready-to-eat food section, and excellent baked goods. The selection includes a wide variety of delicious side dishes, poke, fried chicken, pizza, sandwiches, tens of different kinds of salads, juices, and other fresh and tasty foods. The fried chicken skin is particularly noted. It also has a great wine and spirits section. The main downside is the very busy, tight, and chaotic parking lot, which can be stressful. A tip is to park across the main entry lot access for a safer, less stressful walk to the store. Many recommend having at least one meal here when visiting Honolulu for its fresh, great-price poke and extensive options.
The best poke bowl I've had in my life. The fish disintegrates inbetween the teeth like a warm stick of butter. So so good.
