Don't go here. Take a few more steps to 7Eleven instead. Stopped in to buy a travel hairspray for $6. Made small friendly talk with the older gentleman and asked what his nationality was. He berated me and yelled "why are you asking? Are you the police? I was born and raised here why you do want to know?" Even with a broken English he spoke, I clarified I'm just asking what his nationality was. He shoved his ID in my face and saw he had a foreign name. He started cursing and yelling as I walked out the door and told him it was unacceptable and inappropriate to be rude, esp being an owner at a small convenience store. Will avoid at all costs.

If I could give zero stars I would. There is a 7-Eleven next door, save time and money and go there instead. The staff at 7-Eleven are really sweet too!Anywho, I went in to this Golden Pond Sundries looking for detergent and was going to get my bf a Gatorade since he wasn’t feeling too well. The fridge was excessively packed with Gatorade and when I reached in to grab the flavor I wanted a Gatorade ended up tipping over and spilling. I asked the older man at the register if he had a towel so I could clean the spill and I was very apologetic. Instead, he yelled at me “you’re paying for that!” And he complained about having to clean the mess. He started using foul language and kept slamming the register. I told him he didn’t have to be rude and I was okay with paying for the Gatorade that fell. He not only used foul language but did so yelling at me. He proceeded to keep using inappropriate language and charged $17 on my card. DO NOT GO HERE! Go to 7-Eleven instead!!!!

He is super rude and all the water and things he is selling are way more expensive than any other store in Waikiki. He even curse on me and I was scared and very disappointed. He should not be in the business specially working with customers. He doesn’t know how to regulate his emotions. I will definitely skip shopping there.

Owner is a very very sweet man with great service. There was a day where I went in there twice and he recognized me and noticed that I was buying some medical supplies. He got concerned and asked if I got hurt. We conversed a little more and he said, “I hope you get better,” with a sincere, genuine smile when we were saying our goodbyes.Prices are high, but the point is that it’s there for your convenience and emergencies. I was able to find things I couldn’t find at the 7/11 next door if I needed it quick and at walking distance.

The guy has no manner. My son has asked about the price of goods that has no price tag on it the old cashier seemed to be very impatient. No more visit then. Bye

Convenience store located in the lobby area of the Waikiki Monarch. Pretty small selection of goods and limited hours. The 7-Eleven and ABC stores are nearby and offer a wider range of food items.

Yes, it’s expensive but you pay for convenience. He had everything I needed so I was happy I didn’t have to get in my car and leave to get anything. He was actually very nice to me so I’m not sure what others are talking about. Also, keep in mind…Asian culture is blunt, they aren’t brown nosers because you’re a customer. Just respect that and it’ll be fine.

Everyone be careful!!! YOU WILL. GET SICK EATING/ DRINKING FROM HERE. Almost everything here is EXPIRED ! I came back to let him know they sold me expired drinks and I accident drank one. Expired from early last year and he refused me a refund! The man was incredibly rude and yelled at me and told me it's MY fault. And that if I get sick it's MY responsibility. I asked him to remove the items from the shelves and he refused. This worries me for everyone that won't check. Many items here contain milk and eggs. So you WILL get sick. I cannot believe they wouldn't remove the items off the shelves. And couldn't even apologize to me. All I wanted was an apology because I had accidentally drank one of the drinks. The guys working should not yell at customers the way he did to me. He didn't even want to let me speak. HE REALLY BLAMED EVERYTHING ON ME AND TOLD ME THE ITEMS WILL STAY ON THE SHELVES AND I WILL NOT GET A REFUND. This sketch place needs to get shut down ASAP I'm really so upset they couldn't handle this better today.
