The location is amazing, I'm 5 minutes from the ocean. Fantastic service across the board, I have stayed in very few places that were so clean, and well-cared for. Valet parking is worth the extra money, the parking garage is not for the faint of heart, but after our attempt, everyone was helpful to upgrade us to let the professionals handle it.

This historic hotel is located in front of the famous Duke Kahanamoku Statue, Moana Surfrider and POLICE BOX on Waikiki Beach.
Since the yen is cheap, the JTB Lounge is convenient because you can save on food costs.
✤Breakfast: Salad - rice, natto, miso soup, bread, yogurt, scrambled eggs, various juices, coffee, no milk but very satisfied!
✤Lunch: Biscuits, potato chips...various juices...too bad
✤Dinner: Beer, wine, and a few snacks...a little disappointing
⇒Reference: The Sheraton Lounge before the coronavirus pandemic was more luxurious.
There is also a coin laundry, which was very convenient for long stays.
(Bring detergent from Japan)
The rooms are clean, comfortable with king-sized beds, and have all the amenities you need. (No T-shaped razor)
✷Unfortunately, after 2am, a young Japanese gal came from the next room. He had a unique way of speaking and his loud voice continued for over two hours, making it impossible for him to sleep well.
Of course, the room was quiet except for that unusually loud voice.
Also, the closing sound of the door closer is loud, so it might be a good idea to hold it all the way with your hand at night so it won't disturb both of you.
The JTB high bus also stops right in front of the hotel, so overall, including the location, I'm very satisfied with the hotel.

A TAD dated, at least the tower we were in. The rest of the location - lobby, pool, etc had a nice aesthetic model meets old school classic Hawai'i.

Cons: Water pressure is very weak. Even if you turn the water on in the sink to the max, it comes out like in the picture. The elevator line is no joke. There are a lot of bugs in the sink. It’s expensive.
Pros: The location is in front of Waikiki, so it's great to put on a swimsuit and jump into the ocean right away. It's nice that it's close to the international market. The room is really big and comfortable. It’s on a high floor so the view is very nice.

Loved this hotel experience. The room was clean, service was great. The grounds and pool were beautiful. The bed was the most comfortable I've ever had.
Rooms: Room was large and very clean.
Nearby activities: Beach is across the street, cannot beat that.
Walkability: Great location to everything.

This hotel is close to everything. The beach is directly across the street and close to all restaurants. Check in was a breeze. From the moment we arrived, James went above and beyond to ensure my stay was exceptional. He greeted me with professionalism and his knowledge of the hotel and local area was impressive. James took the time out to answer my questions, offer recommendations, and ensure that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Please extend my gratitude to James for outstanding service. If I should return to Hawaii I look forward to staying at the Hyatt Regency in the future!

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here in September. Check-in was quick and straightforward, and our room with an ocean view was fine. There is, though, building work going at the back of the hotel, so those rooms there are perhaps not the best at the moment. The lifts in the hotel get very busy, but the main irritation were the pigeons at breakfast. Although you were given plate covers, any unattended plate that was uncovered was immediately smothered covered in pigeons. The other Hyatt hotels we stayed in had netting to stop this from happening, so why not here? But it was only an irritation, and our stay was perfect.

We booked this hotel last minute due to the original hotel we planned to stay at was on strike. So glad we ended up staying here instead. Beach right across the street. ABC right down stairs. Staff at the front desk very helpful and nice. They saw we had a large party that booked multiple rooms. We didn’t think or care about our rooms being near each other but the staff made changes to ensure all our rooms were in the same building. We had a large 15 passenger van to carry our large party. Due to this valet was our main option since other parking spots are small. We did not regret this decision at all because valet service was amazing! Special shoutout to Nash who always recognized us and made us feel like VIPs.
Rooms: Spacious. Clean. Fridge included. 2 free water bottles were very useful. Also toilet came with a bidet.
Walkability: Duke statue and beach right across the street

If you read in other reviews that this resort is "run down," please don't let that deter you! This is a terrific place to stay! You can tell it's been around a while, but the decor and "vibe" are charming and so appropriate for Hawaii. Our room was really comfortable and clean. Yes, there were a few paint chips and wallpaper flaws, but everything worked perfectly and was so clean. The staff alone is worth the price! They are friendly, kind, and amazing. The room has a small refrigerator, and if you want a microwave, just ask and they will deliver one for you to keep in your room. This hotel is two very tall towers with a HUGE open-air shopping atrium. There's a pretty standard coffee shop in the atrium as one of the shops, and the coffee and service are wonderful. The line is pretty long in the morning, but they get through it quickly. The poolside bar/restaurant is delightful with, of course, incredibly friendly and attentive staff. I started getting my brewed coffee there each morning and sitting on the high chairs that overlook the beach, rather than getting an espresso drink in the atrium. So beautiful. The pool is small, but lovely, with lots of recliners. The hot tub is big with pretty tile and stone and was just perfect. There are a couple kiosks where you can use your room key to obtain towels for pool or beach--really convenient! Return to the kiosk by 11:59 p.m. to avoid a charge. You can check out beach chairs at the pool area. Yes, the hotel is right there at Waikiki Beach. Just cross the street! There are ABC stores all around, including one in the atrium, so that's very convenient. And you can buy sandwiches and salads there to avoid going to a restaurant. Good liquor, wine, beer selection there, too. Many other shops all around! There's a McDonald's close by, too... My kids wanted the McDonald's breakfast. So easy! Within very easy walking distance are all kinds of shops, restaurants, food vendors, outfitters... And I recommend Star Beachboys for surfboard rentals ($15/hr) and lessons--easy, short walk from the hotel. Also the Hyatt offers fun classes throughout the week, too, like a ukulele lesson, included with the resort fee. Overall, this was a great experience. Please note that at the Hyatt Regency, you are smack in the middle of the "action." That means everything you need is very close by, easy to walk to. That also means you are in the middle of a very active tourist area, so don't expect quiet! But the rooms are pretty quiet for sleeping, so that's great. We loved having a balcony, and though it was a city view, not a beach view, it was FUN to watch all the activity below. The only downside was the parking garage. You can do self parking, but you do risk not getting a space. Though if it is full, they send you to another garage where you pay out of pocket, and they will ensure you aren't charged for the parking that night. Be warned that the Hyatt garage is tall and skinny and TIGHT. You can get the hang of it, but it's a little hard to navigate in such a tight space. But don't bother trying to park anywhere else (except maybe the other one they send you to... I think it is called International Market). It really is best to park at the Hyatt. They have valet, if you prefer that.
Rooms: Very clean. Everything works! Super comfy. Refrigerator included and microwave upon request.
Nearby activities: Surfing, beach, shopping
Walkability: Everything is close by!
Food and drinks: Love the poolside restaurant/bar. Brewed coffee, no espresso. But you can get coffee/espresso drinks at the coffee shop in the atrium, but LOTS of other coffee shops/vendors very near by.
Noteworthy details: Towel kiosks!!! Fun lessons for ukulele and leis and other things are included with the resort fee. Beach chairs available at the pool area, so you can take them to the beach. Included with resort fee.

I’m was only at this hotel two nights. The 1st night I had no issues. 2nd night there was no hot water to shower. I call the front desk and I’m told they are bringing the hot water system back up now. 1 hour later I still have no hot water. I call again and am told that a bellman is going to bring me a room key for a different room so I could shower. Im on the 7th floor and the shower room is on the 6th floor. I gather my shower stuff and some clean clothes and make my down to the 6th floor. The room I was looking for was 603. I cannot find room 603. I go back up to my room on the 7th floor and call the front desk to find out that I needed to go all the way over to the other tower to the 6th floor. Nobody told me this and they acted like I should have known. This would be a one star review had I had any issues on day one.

The cream tray rises to the top. The hotel workers are very friendly and quite helpful. We had a medical issue and they were able to assist us right away to make sure we got everything we needed. You can spend less somewhere else, but your vacation won’t be as memorable! There are also at least two ABC stores on the premises, so you have everything you need.
