Addy made my boyfriends birthday super special! He was thorough and clear. Addy was very patient and informative. We felt safe and had so much fun! Will definitely be recommending this surf school to anyone coming to Hawaii! Thank you Addy!

Had a fantastic experience with Addy - friendly, patient, competent. Our two hour group session ended up being pretty a much a private affair for our family of three (I guess YMWV) - we started with a quick prep lesson on the shop and then headed out to Waikiki for actual surfing. We were going one at a time, giving enough time to recover, and Addy made sure we all caught several waves. I’d recommend the go pro option - they go on the boards so you get the recording of the action close and personal!

I had a 2 hour private lesson with Kurt and learned a lot my first time surfing. He was very calm and patient and encouraging during the lesson and I was able to catch many waves. My husband took a lesson with Addy and also had a great experience. On our last day, my husband and I took a joint lesson with Addy and had a lot of fun catching waves. I highly recommend booking with Kahu if you'd like to try surfing.

Lesson was short and sweet, just enough to get beginner and other basic skills out of the way. Addison was super casual yet professional and made the hour lesson fly by but with enough time to catch some decent waves. Worth the price as now I feel comfortable enough with surfing on my own! A big big mahalo!

Addison was a great instructor - he made very comfortable and made sure I was ready and prepared to surf. All his advice and teaching was extremely helpful and I would highly recommend taking a lesson from him!

Recently had a semi private lesson here and this was the second time my kids had surfed. The instructors were knowledgeable, patient and mindful of the kids strengths and weaknesses and were able to accommodate and assist with them standing up and learning to turn on the boards. Meet up is at the shop, before heading to the beach. I would book an early time slot of 7am for less crowds and better photos. Definitely would come back again.

My surfing experience with Addy was nothing short of phenomenal. As a beginner, I was looking for an instructor who was not only experienced but also patient and encouraging. Addy exceeded all my expectations. His expert guidance and supportive teaching style helped me catch 4-5 great waves. I highly recommend Addy to anyone looking to learn surfing or improve their skills. A truly 5-star experience!

Addy was a fantastic guide. I've never surfed, never boarded, so I wasn't sure if I could stand up on my first go. His instructions were clear and he was very calm and supportive. On my first try, I was able to ride the wave. On my third try, he got me to ride a wave without his push! It was a such a rush. I highly recommend them for a lesson, especially if it's your first time.

We had a really fun lesson with Addy a few days ago! He was knowledgeable, patient, and got us out in the water quickly so we had a good number of runs in just one hour. We went surfing sans instructor yesterday and were actually able to catch a wave or two on our own! Highly recommend.

During my first visit to Waikiki, I decided to try a surf lesson. The lesson started at their office which is close to the beach. Addy took me through the movements with a demo board, showing me first and then I practiced a few rounds of paddling, pressing up and then standing with the correct footing on the board. I’m a visual learner, so it really helped for me to see and then do before going out to the water. Once out in the water, I stood up right away and ultimately caught four waves. The waves at Waikiki are perfect for beginners, but keep in mind the water can be crowded. I went early at 7:30am and there were a number of folks out there, but space enough for everyone. It was a wonderful experience and Addy really helped me understand how to properly begin surfing and some safety precautions too. Lovely experience! 10/10 recommend!

Had a lesson with Addison and it was amazing! He provided super practical information pre lesson and during the session which was so helpful and immediately made difference in my way of surfing. He was so considerate of me; checking how I feel and how I’d wish to proceed regarding advancement during the session. I was so nervous yet thanks to him was able to relax and had so much fun within an hour. would definitely love to have another lesson with Addy and recommend everyone Kahu Surf School.

First time surfers for my 2 kids, they absolutely loved the lesson with Addy!! Definitely recommend Kahu Surf School. Very patiet, professional, and most helpful. Both kids stood up only after a few tries, we will definitely be back to see Kahu Surf School on our next visit! Mahalo!!

My 10 year old son had a lesson with Coach Addy. He was so thrilled and said it was the best surfing coach he had ever had. Great experience and great for kids.
