So, I needed a place to put my things because it was urgent. Yes, I take accountability for not asking about insurance or reading the contract. However, I did move from 1 unit to this unit which is unit #81. The owners daughter or granddaughter who works for Kaimuki Self Storage never told me anything about insurance because I would have opt in for it cause I have valuables. The manager who was working today was giving me attitude saying they can't do shit about my things or even a refund from this month. Mind you I check on my things and take out and put in when I need to. I brought it to the owners daughter/granddaughter's attention that my unit is leaking and the rat sh!t and the roaches and roach eggs. She made like it was nothing. I advise you do not go to kaimuki self storage because they don't give a sh!t about their customers or even ask about insurance. Other storage places is the first thing they tell you is if you want to add on insurance for extra money etc. I lost over $1,000+ worth of valuables from keeping my things here and I not get anything back. 3 boxes full of things I had to dump including my Hula implements which is fuking expensive. I'm so irritated and upset and I told them "you know the power of social media right? Because the pictures will be going up". Moral of the story, make sure you have insurance and make sure you know what you're paying for because if it's cheaper then others this is the outcome you will get and zero fks from the company when your stuffs are damaged.

I have been renting here since October I had massive mold all over my sneakers and hats and clothes and then the Indian lady kept saying oh it's we have insurance we don't have insurance so it's here on the contract, but you could wipe everything down. I wiped everything down another storage voluntarily and still, and then when I say, I don't wanna rent here no more, so to claim for all my damage and Sneakers after I told her I got into a car accident. She was like oh but you could get a new phone and you can't pay the storage. That's why she went spiteful and went revengeful and charge my card but then told me to give her cash with that being said, Car will be in fact very soon when they get all the money back I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that deal with the problem very rude and very disrespectful when I got into a car accident I could've died and she was like oh you can get a new cell phone and new car rental but you can't pay here unbelievable business run by people that are not native Hawaiians ruining local businesses

I've been a tenant here for 5 months and recently upgraded to a larger unit effortlessly thanks to Mish's superb assistance. The customer service has been consistently excellent, and the payment system is hassle-free. While I wish the hours were longer, it just requires better time management for my storage trips. Occasionally, there are some questionable individuals around the facility, but staying alert is key, as it is in any environment.

good owner but short hours make this storage facility inconvenientgood if you are extremely poor and can't carry all your things. not recommended for people who need 24 hour access or access on the weekends

If you're not the type to work in customer service industry or people in general, don't run business or work in places where you gotta deal with people. If you don't have the right mentality and don't even know the definition of what communication is, find something else to do. I got scammed by this place. Followed exactly what they told me to do, and my time was wasted. Now I can't even get my money back that I waited for LIKE THEY SAID TO for WAY over a month. My mom rented a unit due to our family moving to a different place to store some items. Due to them not having availability for a bigger size, she rented a unit that was available and told the staff, Mish, that she wanted to rent a larger unit. As there wasn't any larger ones, she was willing to rent out an additional one from the second day of renting the first one. Mish told my mom that she'll hold it, said she won't sell it or hold it to anyone else, said we didn't have to sign anything. I went to the storage next day with my mom ( as her English isn't the best ) with all the items we were going to store in the additional storage. Come to find out her MANAGER, Devina, who I just got off the phone with and yelled at me for the whole phone conversation today and hung up on me, sold it to someone. We asked Mish why she didn't have us sign anything so we could have held the storage. She couldn't give us an answer and just said the manager sold it without telling her. There was nothing else we could do. So as we needed bigger space, we had to go find another storage place, Public Storage, and rent a bigger unit there. As Kaimuki Storage was closer and was in the neighborhood, my mom went there but it was THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. The main part of it all is, regardless of it says on the contract or not, if the MANAGER approved to give refund due to promising things that they couldn't keep and caused inconvenience, telling the customers that we WILL get the refund, give 14 days to get the money back, said they emailed the RECEIPT AS WELL, ( NEVER CAME THROUGH ) but just because I'm calling to follow up as the money is STILL NOT REFUNDED AFTER OVER A MONTH, you're gonna yell, saying WE DONT GIVE OUT REFUND???? Excuse me ? Because you brought the inconvenience TO YOURSELVES, and I'm calling to FOLLOW UP, answering the questions YOU ARE ASKING, you're gonna yell at the customer that's calling to follow up on THEIR money??? Devina was keep on yelling at me, talking over me, repeating that they don't give out refund, it's on the contract..MA'AM. That's NOT THE POINT. Is this how you "handle" all issues ??? Just keep yelling, saying I'm not listening and then hang up??? Contract is not the issue here. If we were told otherwise that it's a strict no refund policy from the beginning when we ASKED for a refund due to the situation, that would have been it. But THEY made the decision to do otherwise and I'm following up and now they are gonna change their words, telling me to tell MY MOM to come to the store so you can talk to her?? What's the difference? I said I'm calling on her behalf as her English isn't the best AND I WAS THERE TOO AT THE STORAGE. I get that you'll check with the CC company due to being a weekend, even though that's what we've been told this whole time, but DONT TELL ME IM CAUSING THE INCONVENIENCE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO CONTACT THEM. Seriously??? ... THE AUDACITY. What could this possibly be besides a scam? Why did I even get yelled at FIRST THING IN THE MORNING ?? Making the time to call this place when they said they will follow up and let me know and they haven't???? The AUDACITY to even run this business for this long is unbelievable. I feel 300% for the ones that left low star reviews on this page, talking about the Manager's crazy attitude. Even 1 star is too high of a rating. STAY. AWAY . FROM. THIS. PLACE!!

I'm a new storage unit owner and they are so friendly and helpful with all my questions about the storage unit, and very convenient for me and my husband they treated us such kindness and always smiling so polite.

no stars for evil thieves like the owner of this storage!!!!... your belongings are not safe here.. pay more at the other ones, at least they dont got through your stuff and take what they want and give rest to charity....... bullshit.... shame on you davina!!! terrible excuse for a human being.. save your things and your money$$ and store somewhere else, anywhere but here. period. have a nice day.

I stored my office and home goods at Kaimuki Self Storage for many years and I discovered my belongings were moved without my being notified from 2 spaces to one space and my most valuable items were stolen, yes stolen! I experienced very helpful assistance from the manager and others. Stealing should be a crime. I am devastated and trust you will be careful.

I am a transplant from the mainland. I needed a unit to store some of my things until I found a home here on the island. Called Kaimuki Self Storage. A wonderful person named Mish, got me squared away right away. Big shout out to Mish! I am grateful. Thank you kamuki self storage.

I can’t say enough. Devina and her staff were very helpful. Worked with her last summer and then again this week closing out a loved ones storage after his passing. Thank you so much for your excellent service and compassion. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a storage unit. Easy location, convenient hours and again, the customer service can’t be topped. Thank you!

This self storage place is awesome! We have used them for the last 4 years for my daughter while she attended U of H and have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and how accommodating they have all been to us over the years. There are many different size units to fit your needs and very reasonably priced. The units are well temperature controlled and never had any problems with moisture or mold or smells. The units are all on one level with easy access. Give them a try and they will treat you right!

So the manager (Davina) called me today to accuse me of lying and was basically yelling at me. She said they have videos and that nothing was left in my unit. Even if that is true, I paid for the month so by right I should be able to keep my lock and my stuff in there, right? She claims that I asked to move out early. All I wanted to do was to make sure that I wasn't charged going forward. It's not even about the money at this point. I just want to expose their shady business practice and their insanely terrible customer service.

Upon arriving early to Hawaii from Los Angeles, our airbnb host recommended this storage place for us until our room was ready for check-in. When we arrived at Kaimuki Self Storage, AJ helped us, and she was so kind and so sweet. Stored our bags safely, while we got to grab lunch and do a hike. We came back and met with Divina, who again, was also so very sweet and kind. She retrieved our bags for us, gifted us a couple of cute office notions from their business, and sent us off with the sweetest smile! Thank you, AJ & Divina! We appreciate your sincere kindness and generosity. You made a wonderful first impression for this first time visitor. Mahalo
