Dexter is the man! He does good honest work. He keeps my wife's electric shears clean and sharp. After she beats up the blades, Dexter renews it and the wife is happy again, ready to cut pebbles and small rocks. Thanks Dexter!

I brought in two pair of fabric scissors and was very happy with the friendly and fast service. He even made a cardboard sheath for each and also gave me some expert advice on a few sharpening questions I had. I'm very glad I found Keen Kutter and plan on bringing in other items for sharpening. Highly recommend!

3/14/2022 I received a phone call that my knives were finished so I picked up my four Henckles knives, my Henckles kitchen shears, and a small Sekiryu cleaver that I dropped off on 3/7/2022. They were neatly wrapped in the cardboard tray that I dropped them off in. I was able to use a credit card since my cost was over $25. I was excited to bring them home to use because I hadn't sharpened my knives since 5/24/2015. They're so sharp and shiny again! I've had the same knives since I first came here in 2013 and I'm sure I'll be able to use them for my lifetime as long as I continue to bring them back to Keen Kutter for sharpening. Excellent sharpening and friendly customer service. Dexter Freitas (who is the sole proprietor) told me that it's good to maintain knives by sharpening them at least once a year and to keep them sharp by hanging them on a magnetic strip or keeping them in a knife block. He also said that in addition to knives he sharpens garden tools, circular saws, metal shears, sewing scissors, and all kinds of blades. I'll be back in a year!

It speaks to the character of this gentleman that he was willing to give me a quick DIY sharpening lesson on a job that wouldn't've been worth his or my while . Seems most people would've just sent me packing. My blender is working much better now. Thank you!

12/3/18 I continue to take my knives in for sharpening and they continue to do a great job!! I've also taken in a paper cutter that I've had for 20 years. They did a great job resharpening it. Drop off your knives a week later pick them up and pay.

My thickness planer had the blades sharpened here. Wonderful job, for folks who do wood work you probably know what "snipe" is. Well when the blades were placed into the lunchbox planer, all snype disappeared. A second addition to the shop wad a new thickness planer, It had snype out-of-the-box. Like the new blades weren't sharp. Keen Kutter, sharpened them and all the snype is gone. Sharp blades eliminates waste and cuts perfectly. Highly recommended for serious wood workers.

I hear there are a lot of knife sharpeners on the island, but not many have a Yelp or web site. I went to Keen because I could find them on the web and get directions. I took my very vintage, but good quality sewing sheers to be fixed up and sharpened. I was so pleased, I took back a cooking knife and pruning sheers and more scissors. Knife is so sharp now, it's dangerous. My sewing scissors cut anything now. Cash only. Takes about 2-3 days. Reasonable prices.

Dropped off 4 knives on a Monday and got them back the next morning. When I dropped them off the man said that he was all caught up with sharpening so he'd have them done right away. A job well done and a business that I'll continue to go to!

Takes a couple days but the man who runs the shop gets my knives either as sharp as they were new or even sharper. I take everything from my kitchen knives to my Ka-Bar
