As an Executive Elite member of National Rental Car, this was by far the absolute best experience I’ve ever encountered at National Rental Car in LAX. The agent Christina in LAX went above and beyond to ensure that I was well taken care of. I normally rent using the Executive option and the options of cars that were available at the time did not meet my needs for this business trip but Christina made sure that I would get the car I needed. She walked me through some different options that weren’t available right off the bat. The attention and service that I received was as I said by far the best experience I’ve had at the LAX location. I travel a lot through LAX, so I hope I have Christina again just because I appreciated her service so much!

We arrived at Honolulu Airport passed 11 pm worry they might be closed, it was a rather a long walk to the Car Rental building, near door number 26, thank goodness that National, Enterprise & Alamo are working as a team, staffs were very nice, minimal paper work because I am an Emerald member very quickly we get to pick our vehicle. Seamless for returning too. We got an almost new Toyota RAV4.

Great service. The app is easy to use and not having to wait in any lines to fill out paperwork is a plus. Cars are always clean and plenty of upgrade options

We rented a 7 passenger van in Honolulu this past week. It had about 56,000 mile on it so far. The brakes sounded metal to metal and faded on an abrupt stop traffic dictated. The glass was so caked with hard water stains it made it somewhat difficult to see out of. The windshield wipers were so warm they mostly streaked the rain on the glass rather than clean it. The last day, the right side window visor fell out of the headliner and hung by the light wire. This van was barely “road worthy”. Not at all what my many previous experiences with National have been. This was way below their usual standards of their cars.

We were a party of 7, so I reserved two vehicles 2 months prior to our pickup at Honolulu airport. My expectation was that I would simply add an extra driver for each vehicle when we picked them up. But, no, I did not find out until we were leaving the lot that one person cannot rent 2 vehicles. This would have been nice to know when I made the online reservations.However, the problem was resolved very professionally and relatively quickly in a very friendly manner. (Although, there was a building line of people wanting to quickly depart that probably did not think it was resolved quickly enough.)Both vehicles were perfect for our needs and performed well. The return of these vehicles was quick and very courteous.This was a problem that could have been avoided had the online booking system alerted me at the time I made the reservations. But, I was impressed with the people at checkout who dealt with the issue so effectively!

Regardless of some miscommunication about my pick up time and the closing hours, I will definitely be renting from them again. My flight got delayed, so I called to see how late they would be open and if I would still be able to get my rental when I arrived. I was told that someone would still be there waiting because they were open for another two hours. When I arrived, no one was there so I returned in the morning, explained what happened and they were AWESOME with handling my situation very well.From the customer service over the phone and in person, everyone is very polite. Of course, I was upset at first but you guys took care of the situation quickly and professionally. The vehicle was totally worth the rental prices. It was an easy pick up and drop off process. It was a holiday weekend and we didn't have to wait in ANY LINES.Be sure to take a video and photos of your rental (inside and out) before leaving the lot so you know of any damages or scratches that may be there before you left the lot (if there is any). It is very convenient as well because it is just walking distance from the airport (right across the street). I will be renting from them when I come home to visit again. Thank you guys!

We rented a car in Honolulu for one day, as our ship arrived at 7:30am and our flight was at 10:00pm. The airport transfer dropped us off across the street from National Car Rental and, as soon as we arrived, we were greeted by someone who helped us locate a car. There was not one available for what we had requested, but she bumped us up one level and we were very happy with the car we chose. Great service picking up and dropping off the car!!

Can't say enough great things about national & it confuses me how enterprise can be so different... but in this trip it was 100% national and it was PERFECT!! selected a beautiful BMW SUV which didn't even realize until my friend pointed out out. I just wanted an SUV with an auto back door/hatch & it was the 3rd one I looked at and was incredible!!! Had the auto door in back, great navigation system which we really needed should the phones die out AND BONUS we found heated seats. Great customer service getting there and returning it. I just love national!! I think in all the times I've rented I've only had one issue. See you next year ?

National makes renting so very easy. I love the Emerald Club option of arriving and just going to the lot and picking a car. No standing in line, no waiting. Just pick a car of your choice and go. It is absolutely a rental game changer. I love National!

I switched to Nation car rental, almost exclusively, many years ago, after a series of bad customer service experiences with another nationwide rental chain. I have had universally positive experiences with National. They make getting out of airports with a car rental about as easy as it can be. I have found their representatives to be pleasant, helpful, and efficient.

Very smooth process. The mini van was ready at pick up time without me having to stop by the counter. At drop off, their customer service was top notch. Jack made sure that the process was as fast as possible. Charges were as advertised without any surprise or hidden fees. Great experience.

Very happy with the experience, smooth and fast pick up and return. I have used National almost everywhere I go and they haven’t let me disappointed once. Third time using National in Honolulu airport and the upgrade to the Audi A5 convertible was amazing! Thank you for making me and my wife’s babymoon a great experience and memory!

Frustrating. Never make the same mistake I did. It will cost you $300. The car rental itself was great. Service was great up until the end. I'm new to car renting. When I came to pick up the car everyone was professional and it was an easy experience. Where I made a mistake is that I didn't take pictures or video of the car. Because of how professional everyone was and how easy the experience was, I automatically assumed the car was in great shape... I was wrong. There were numerous scratches and dents and bumps on the car. I noticed it as soon as I went to Arrival at Delta and picked up my wife. Another mistake I made was I noticed the marks and bumps and still didn't take pictures of them, assuming once again, 'oh maybe they documented everything'. I was dead wrong I came back to return the car and they pointed out everything and of course it was my luck that I didn't document anything...I talked to the National Staff members to see if there was anyway around it and they said they don't know and that they'll have the damage control people look at it and see what they determine. Sure enough, I sign the paper and then I get a charge a week later. So frustrating...The most frustrating part about everything is that my family and I were home most of the time because my newborn and my wife were too tired to go out and about. I wish I didn't have this experience or else I would rate 5 stars, recommend it to my family and friends, and continue using the services. This will most likely be my first and last experience through National.

Walked right up to counter and was greeted by a pleasant young man. My reservation was ready and correct. Walked out to the cars and a pleasant young lady welcomed us and invited us to choose a car from a select row. We chose a Toyota Camry which was clean and well appointed. Enjoyed the car with no issues for 3-1/2 days. I always feel uncomfortable with the return of the vehicle but easy directions, greeted by another pleasant young lady got my luggage and caught the shuttle. Wonderful service and a fair price for the car. Mahalo National!
