Made a reservation through Peso's website however when we arrived, there was a sign that the restaurant is closed. Days prior I've received emails & texts to remind me and confirm my reservation, which I have. Would've been nice to been notified that they were closed. Nothing on their website or social media mentioned anything as well. Thankfully Scratch Kitchen was near & went there instead.

Even though we could make a reservation through Open Table, when we arrived, we discovered restaurant was closed for renovation. However, It looked nice from the outside. Fortunately, Merriman's was across the street and we were able to dine there instead. Open Table should not accept reservations for restaurants that for whatever reason are closed. Our one star review should not be taken as an indication of quality as it was the only way to get to the comment section.

If you’re looking for filipino food that explores different flavors and I guess the category of “fancy”, this is the place to go. The food was absolutely delicious. I’ve tried other places that have attempted to make Filipino food this way and always fell a little short on the taste and flavors. If you’re looking for more traditional, then I wouldn’t suggest it. For what my expectations were, they did a great job. Prices are a little high than what I am used to. When the lechon came out with Brussel sprouts, I was a little hesitant but did not regret it as the flavors surprised me. The kare kare beef was so tender. The turon with soft serve is a must. I wish I could try other options on the menu

When we were there we ordered Litson Kawali which did not have Litson (pork), only grilled Brussels sprouts ! Even the server agreed ! The Pancit was very salty, and Sisig was just ground pork with Sisig seasoning. My son ordered Adobo and he said it was good. Pinakbet was also good. The restaurant is clean and in a good location . Overall, this restaurant has good potential.

3/5 Food 2/5 Service 4/5 Vibes The food is what I would call "New American with a flair." It truly is not Filipino food--the items have Filipino names but are actually other dishes in disguise. For example: - Their "adobo" is a vinegar fried chicken - Their "lechon" is roasted brussels sprouts with pork belly bits - Their "lumpiang sariwa" is a taco These items were tasty, but I would have preferred if the descriptions/names reflected what the dishes actually are. I think I would have been less disappointed if I knew what the items were from the start. Service on the weekday night I went was actually quite bad. They were inattentive, to the point where my party of 3 spent 15 min looking for our server to order, add drinks, or even get a takeout box and the check. We were one of two tables seated. I expected much better service for the menu prices of the dishes. I think PESO has potential, but the execution on their dinner service is just not there yet.

Service was wonderful—the hostess and our server were excellent! We were just disappointed by the quality and value of our meal. We also didn’t realize the menu is a bit different on Tuesdays! The portions were a bit small for the price and the drinks and meals didn’t have much flavor. We ordered the calamansi drink and cantaloupe cooler, as well as the crab fried rice, palabok (pictured), and banana lumpia.

Food was a bit salty for my taste l, but the flavor was there. I gave it 3 stars because the food was served cold. The rice tasted like it was old rice. The pancit was cold, stuck together. Kare Kare had 2 tiny pieces of meat, thankfully it was soft. It was a slow Monday lunch but we still had to wait for our food. The dessert was stale, old pastry. Very disappointed!!! Service - the waiter was friendly.

Still a hidden gem among the popular restaurants in Honolulu. I think they do an excellent job for creating Filipino / local asian cuisine. Don't know of any restaurant that uses as much Filipino influence - nice change of pace from other popular asian fusion restaurants. I will definitely dine her

Wonderful lunch here and really liked the modern take on traditional Filipino dishes. We're Filipino and appreciate the Chef's take and vision on the Pinakbet, Lechon, Pancit, and Lumpia. Service was great too! We'll be back in March with more family members.

Cute spot, good service.Ordered the kanpachi kinilaw, the pinakbet and the sisig.Sisig was great, spicy and citrusy from the calamansi, nice chunks of pork belly mixed in too, would def order again. Pinakbet was a chunkier, mild sauce that I’m not accustomed to but still enjoyed the vegetables, however don’t think I would order again. Kinilaw was pretty delicious and nicely presented but severely overpriced at $22 for 4 pieces of kanpachi. That’s $5.50 for one 2 inch slice of fish. Also tried the Pandan matcha latte which was yummy but sort of expensive at $8, imo.I would come again to try other dishes and support Filipino but am bummed some dishes didn’t match price point. I don’t mind paying $$$ for food as long as it’s damn delicious and the dish offers value. Total for my solo dinner came to $90, including tax and tip.

Came in on a Monday night with reservations and got seated immediately. I love the vibe of the place. The atmosphere was definitely appropriate for date night. It was charming and with elegant decor. The food and drinks tied the whole place together. Fine dining Filipino dishes is the best way to describe their cuisine. My rankings from best to ok were Turon, Lechon Kiwali, Kare Kare, Lumpia, and Chicken Adobo. The Turon had so many flavor profiles. Crunchy and sweet. The fried banana paired so well with their sweet cream soft serve. 10/10 would eat it again and every time I come back. The Lechon Kiwali is different. Brussels sprouts aren't known in Filipino dishes, but these baby brussel sprouts with the tamarind balsamic was heavenly. The crunch of the pork belly made me nostalgic of brussel sprouts and bacon. 9/10. Kare Kare was absolutely delicious. I love how they roasted the bok choy and the beef was so tender. It was missing peanut butter flavors though. 8/10. The pork lumpia and chicken adobo were both ok and nothing too notable. However, authentic pork adobo is covered in adobo sauce not just au jus and adobo dry rub. 7/10. The drinks were strong and delicious!
