We've been regularly shopping at the 1121 S Beretania St, Honolulu Hawaii Store for years, especially to refill our empty cat litter buckets, which is not only so much cheaper, but also by recycling the buckets it is good for the environment. The staff, especially the two female cashiers that helped us on 07/11/2024 were so friendly, helpful and genuinely showed appreciation not only for us shopping at PetCo, but also for what we do to help and care for stray cats. I really, really liked them!

Employee from hell, ANDREW is the reason I will never give my business to this Petco location again. He should be fired- he has been insolent and nasty to me on several occasions. He has a power trip going or maybe he just doesn’t like women but his behavior is completely unprofessional. I asked to speak to a manager when he wouldn’t return my money for an online order he refused to give to me because their faulty app puts it under my husband’s name. He said ‘can’t you read, it’s not in your name’ then ignored me and continued to ring up other customers. Only when my husband came in and spoke to the manager were we able to get our order. Even then he only brought one of the two items that we had paid for. Unbelievably bad service. Again, Andrew should be fired. I do not recommend this location as this employee is toxic.
The exception is the grooming dept who are wonderful, especially Kim H. Highly recommend them! The other employees have all been great also. Andrew needs a job that has zero customer interaction. Very disappointing experience.

The staff were really helpful. The gentleman put in my phone number to save me $10 on a bag of dog food and explained that after every $100 or so dollars the store would send me $5 in the mail.

Petco itself is good, but the parking lot is really creepy and dirty. Litter scattered everywhere. Nasty entrance with homeless people who leave dirty clothing and garbage on the sidewalk leading to Petco. People use the corners of the building as their bathroom. I walked out once and a lady was peeing by the shopping carts. I am here now and I was parked by the dumpster, before I could get out of my car a man literally jumped into the dumpster and started flinging garbage out. I moved my car to another location and a homeless man followed me and walked up to my car and stood there with a half smile and then walked away. I don't like coming here anymore, it's gross and creepy!!

Hours changed from opening at 8am to 9am, although the store opens for grooming at 7am. Im further confused because there was 2 other people being helped at the checkout register...I guess if you have a grooming appointment before 9am, you're allowed to shop.

Great location, easy access and lots of parking. Great selection and variety of items. Excellent service at the checkout. The only negative thing would be the prices, quite a bit more than other stores locally and online.

I had a grooming appointment for my dog. The day before the appointment I get a call asking to reschedule because they were apparently overbooked. Because of this I had to wait a month for his appointment. I take him in and they refused to groom him. They said his matting was too bad and that they didn’t feel comfortable doing the grooming.
I’ll attach a photo.
His hair is matting, but it’s definitely not so sever that they couldn’t shave him. That’s why I’m trying to get him to a groomer. I wasted around $30 ubering to his appointment just for them to refuse to do it.
He now has to wait another month to get into a different groomer. I’m working on contacting corporate. The experience was really awful.

This Petco has everything you need and the staff are attentively pleasant. The store size is smaller (almost by ½ size) than most other Petco I've been too. As a result, the aisles are not as wide.
