This place is horrible, their staff is rude and you literally get treated like a criminal. I laughed when the dressing room employee hung the clothes I wanted to try on on the rack and started patting each item down. Then as I leave the dressing room she gets on her headset and says to cancel security because she thought I had left and didn't realize I was still in the dressing room. I work in a corporate office nearby and I'm a 30 something year old 5 ft tall woman who apparently gives the staff at Ross bad vibes

We found a lot of things we needed. My wife found two small luggage bags. I bought a shirt for the beach. The parking garage is only 15 a night. That is cheaper than the hotel parking.

This Ross has an excellent selection and it's two floors tall. However there is no parking available anywhere nearby, so it's really only worth going to if you work downtown and needed to grab something on your lunch break or happen to be downtown for an unrelated reason.

***Ross Dress for Less, Honolulu, Hawaii: Fort Street Mall*** CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME the name of the HEAVY SET CAUCASIAN Manager with GLASSES? Looks something like the boy Piggy from the movie, "Lord of the Flies" I frequent this store a lot. I don't bother or chit chat with anyone and just mind my own business. I shop, then just pay and that's it. The cashier staff are pretty decent. And I say this cause I talk to them on an as needed basis. I've been going to this Ross for over 10 years because I work in downtown. Today, however, was a real eye roll. So I'm heading in from the Beretania entrance, as I always do. I get greeted by the Filipino security. He tells me, "Hi! Welcome back!" I wave hi, tilt my head and continue. He stays at the door. Doesn't say ANYTHING else. I head downstairs looking at some of the lunch bags. And this heavy set, Caucasian male, with a light blue collared shirt on, with glasses, starts following me. I give him an irritated glance and continue on. He then follows me and tells me, "You need to leave the store." I look at his name tag, and THERE WAS NO NAME. So I looked at him and said, "What?" Then he says, "You need to leave." I responded, "Why?" And he said, "Because the last time you were here, you set off the alarm but didn't stop when we told you to. I said, "Are you serious?" And he say, "Yes". So I asked him, "Well, what day was it?" He replied, "You need to leave." Then I said, "Well what's your name?" He said, "You need to leave." So I said, "I guess." And headed to the front of the store. There was a female Micronesian security at the door. I told her, "That guy told me to leave, and said that I was here the last time, but didn't tell me when. Is there a reason for that?" So she replied, "Well, he's the manager, so if he said you did then you did." SMH. No proof of me stealing anything! And probably got mistaken for someone else. I wonder who else he did this to? Anyone knows this managers name? I'd like to do the right thing and make a formal complaint since I was wrongfully escorted out and basically accused of stealing.

Shopping in Downtown--no parking, no parking, no parking. That's probably why Wal-Mart, Walgreens, two Longs Drugs, and several restaurants are gone. It's just hard to do business with zero convenient parking. Surprisingly and thankfully, Ross Dress for Less is still here. If not, Downtown would be SUPER BORING with no where to go, no where to shop during lunchtime. There are two entrances--one from Hotel St and one on Fort St. Open 8-830am to 7pm. This Ross is quite different than others. The first thing is the spaciousness. The aisles are wide and everything is spaced out, and quite clean and generally organized. Second is the this Ross is not very busy, so checkout lines won't build and build when there's just one cashier. Third is you'll find more selections and more unique items that might've been scooped up immediately at other Ross'. Fourth, the staff and security are friendly and nice! Lastly, you might find more insanitary homeless who are not in the right of mind here "shopping". Most people who shop here are ones who catch TheBus, or work or live around Downtown. Reading some reviews below, I agree with the issue when purchasing large items such as bar stools, nightstands, large mirrors, and etc. The closest loading zone parking is on Bishop Street, but that area is almost always full with cars and trucks. And I don't think I'd carry cabinets or landscape paintings to the office lol. Unless Ross has super sized bags I can carry (ahem, conceal) it. Overall, there are defintely some gem finds at this Ross and more selection of items. It's not filled to the brim with stuff, and the aisles are quite spacious. It's not as busy here, but I tend to pass up on bulky items as I don't want to lug it around.

The store was ok. They had good deals. But, it's in the worst area and they have security at every door. Just doesn't make you feel very safe. The area is dirty and run down. There are homeless everywhere. I would avoid and find a better one if u can.
