Born and raised in Hawaii, one is accustomed to wearing slippers. I primarily wore the "rubbah slippas" that my family would pick up for me at Long's. Slippers in Hawaii is the result of the Japanese immigrants who came to Hawaii as they brought along the Japanese zori, or Japanese sandals that are made of natural or synthetic materials. As I grew older, I would still wear rubber slippers but started to venture into Birkenstocks as they were introduced to me during my college days. When I moved back to Hawaii, I noticed some colleagues and people around me wore Scott Hawaii (SH) slippers, which can be categorized as higher end sandals that are meant for comfort and durability. At that time I couldn't visualize myself investing in such footwear. Embarrassingly, I got my first pair of SH slippers in 2010 when it was given to me as a gift. They were heavier than what I have been wearing all my life but really appreciated the comfort and longevity. I ended up with another pair from SH that I've been using for over 7 years. Such a great investment Recently, I've noticed that my pair of SH slippers are on its last leg with some cracks here there and it was time to replace them. I recall reading Lyla D.'s review on SH so after a frustrating day at the office, I decided that I needed retail therapy so I made my way over here before heading home. It was kinda confusing to find here but I remembered the address so I parked in one of the stalls and walked in. I saw the SH sticker on the door as met a male who was on his way out and he blurted "Go to the second floor." The 2F is SH's display room with staff to assist you. There was an elderly couple who was shopping for sandals and I was assisted by a young female who greeted me. I told her I wanted to replace my existing pair and she asked what I was looking for. I just wanted the standard black pair and I had no idea what my size is. We checked the bottom of my existing pair but the sole was run down that the number size was not visible. She went to the warehouse to bring me several sizes to try on. While waiting I checked out their merchandise display and saw an array of different male, female, unisex and children sandals. I really appreciated the art decor that depicted Hawaii well. The staff returned with several sizes and we went down the sizes until the fit was right. I initially planned on getting the plain, standard all black slippers but saw this military green strap that piqued my interest. My eyes then landed on navy blue ono so I asked the associate to bring both. I tried both colors on and both colors appealed to me. I then asked for the price, where she advised me $30 per pair. People may feel the price tag as high but I don't mind paying for comfort and quality, especially with my satisfied experience up till now. You pay for comfort and this purchase can also be viewed as an investment. I ended up getting both pairs. I've been using my current pair of SH slippers for over 6 years and have also taken them with me when I traveled to California and Japan. SH will continue to be my choice of slippers and highly recommend them. Their products can also be purchased online but make your way over here to view and try on the product. 2024 #10

I took the time to add this flip flop maker to Yelp..the reason? One of the single most comfortable sandals ever! Bought my first pair in a surf shop while visiting St. Augustine last year. Just ordered another pair and I'm so happy. I want all of them. I am really hard on flip flops but these do not wear out. Quality work guys, please don't ever change! Price range is anywhere from $40-60. You won't be disappointed.

Very disturbing interview (KITV) available on Youtube outlining the decline in sales. While some retailers are in fact in a difficult situation, it would appear based on the interview that Scott Hawaii sees the issue as big retailers not supporting Hawaii. That's possible, but could it be that this multigenerational Hawaii company now makes most if not all of its slippers in China and not in Honolulu hence its "Hawaii" value is impacted?? Talk about supporting Hawaii?! Hopefully they survive------!

Just came back from Waikiki Beach, Hawaii and wish I could have stayed, but folks if you are looking for good "Beach Walkers" check it scotthawaii.com for a great selection of Men, Women and Kids Sandals. I like them because of my Narrow Flat Feet with no arch and their Sandals have the best design arch. I just had to go to their Warehouse where they ship all over the US to get them and it was worth the walk.

Finally found a classic basic flip flop with a great price and durable. These are like the ones we had in the 80s when we used to live in Hawaii. These will be my go to for myself and family. Amazing

Great slips. Great staff. Great service. I ordered online. I needed to make an exchange. Their system is fast and they are so helpful. I think that I will only buy Scott slippers from now on. I had my last pair for 15 years. No joke. Support local, IT MATTERS.

Scott Hawaii is fantastic! In a world where customer service is sorely lacking and oftentimes appears to not exist, they give you not only hope, but went above and beyond to fix the issue I had. You actually talk to live people and they made everything perfect. They didn't argue over anything. I've been buying from them for years, this is the first issue I've ever had, and I will continue to buy from them in the future. Thank you, Scott Hawaii.

I bought two pair of Scott's in Maui on my vacation. I bought one for my son and myself. I paid $60.00 for men's and $44.00 for women's. When I got home we both wore them for the first time. Within 15 minutes both of our toes started hurting? Where you put yr toes is hard and very uncomfortable. So disappointed I thought I was buying premium quality shoes. I should of followed my girlfriend who while we where there in Maui bought shoes called local from ABC store , she loves her shoes. Oh well lost $104.00. Since I don't live in Hawaii the only thing I can do is live with the lost

It was a little difficult finding the entrance. (Go through the parking area under the building and look for the stairs). But after circling the block three times I watched one of the ppl who worked there go in. I wasn't go go to drive away with out new slippas. As the guy helping me said...the ones I'm wearing they haven't carried in 8 years . I was disappointed with the women's selection as they carry a very narrow silhouette and I have wider toes. I did walk away with 3 new pairs of the unisex ones...I wish they had more variety in the unisex colors because I totally would have bought more!

I absolutely love these bad boys. As u can see I’m wearing slippahs in the fall (NYC). I don’t know what it is but when I come home from work I can’t wait to slip these on. Though I live in the concrete jungle (NYC) these here slippahs are a delightful reminder of island life. Mahalo, Scott Hawaii

Growing up in Hawai'i, before Statehood, I remember my sisters and I always wore Mary Janes, Keds tennis shoes, or Hush Puppies to primary and middle schools and special occasions. At home or play, we'd wear enclosed shoes, but our mother never allowed us to go barefoot or wear Japan imported rubber zoris AKA "rubba slippahs." I guess that our mother felt that wearing the rubber (zoris) slippers would cause us to have wide feet or what we locals refer to as "lū'au feet." Thanks to Scott Hawai'i, formerly called the Scott Shoe Co., I started wearing their well-made rubber soles with nylon strap thong slippers during my high-school years. I was worried that the nylon Y-shaped strap would create a blister between my toes (it did not) and found the Scott slippers had a tiny arch support that made them sort of supportive. I was impressed with the quality and even felt good about how solidly manufactured they were because the straps couldn't even be pulled out. Over the past several decades, I've worn out my slippers and have always replaced them with ones from Scott Hawai'i, which I've bought from local retail stores. While my brothers-in-law were visiting our islands, one of my in-laws asked me where to get Scott Hawai'i slippers. We went to several stores, but they either didn't have his size or didn't have the model he was looking for. So, I promised him to continue looking for what he wanted after we dropped him off at the airport for his return home. Yelp Hawai'i came to the rescue when I searched for Scott slippers; this location on Kona Street came up. Surprisingly, we've passed this location on numerous times because it's located in a building next to Snack Addicted and Purvé Donuts. I never thought of going here because I thought it was their warehouse location and not retail. My husband and I took a chance to go in after reading previous reviews on Yelp and were met by a friendly young man. I asked if he handled retail sales or if this was just a warehouse/wholesale. He confirmed that he could help us and asked what we were looking for. After providing information about the men's size, sole color, and nylon strap, he walked down an aisle, reached into a bin, and brought out what we were looking for. He did say that there were other styles and color options but, my brother-in-law was quite specific about what he wanted. We asked the price and paid. While paying, he mentioned they could ship the slippers for FREE DOMESTIC LOCATIONS but, we chose to ship them ourselves because there were a couple of other things we needed to mail out. It was a good thing we took the chance to go to this warehouse. We were able to get my brother-in-law a replacement pair of slippahs and wished that we had just gone there in the first place instead of roaming from store to store around town.

Best slippers on the planet. I currently live in Ohio and I buy my frequent slipper wearing friends pairs. More people need to know about Scott's outside of Hawai'i.
