Side street Inn (SSI): Decent place but food quality is lacking. They make up for their less than Oishi grinds by offering cheap prices on drinks. We had their Garlic Chicken and kalbi beef. The chicken was rubbery and the beef had more fat than actual meat. Also had a Chinese Chicken Salad that looked and tasted like they scraped something out from a local binjo ditch. Price wise it’s not too expensive but I’d much rather eat at a local 7-11 than return to SSI.

Service needs improvement. Some of our food came out late and with no apology. Our waitress was a bit rude.

Excellent meal and atmosphere. We had the Prix Fixe which includes edamame, farmer’s salad, fried rice, kalibriert and pork chops. Was more than enough for 4 adults. All the dishes were fantastic. Highly recommend making a reservation. The place was packed the whole time we were there from 6:30 pm.Parking: Use the valet parking under the building for $7. Other parking is hard to find and just as expensive. Cash only.

casual spot to enjoy a beer and big share plates! So bomb. Service was great. Restaurant was sparkling clean. Even bathrooms were super clean. Many TV’s to come watch the games. Recommend the poke, garlic chicken and can never go wrong with fried rice.

Definitely a good atmosphere. We sat at the bar and both bartenders were very attentive and social with us. The food was amazing, we had the steak and it was so tender and flavorful. Kimchi fried rice was very good as well and their portion size was enough to feed 3 people. All in all, I would recommend this establishment to all my friends and family. 10/10. Also, try their orange cream float for dessert!

Interior modernization would not hurt the joint.

Food wise. Food is amazing. They used to do plate lunches, where you could sample their famous stuff for $25. Unfortunately we found out they eliminated that in summer 2023.Now food is family style/ala cart. All main entrees are $20-$30/dish.Order the fried rice, kalbi, and especially the Garlic chicken. $28 for the smaller order and it comes 8-9 pieces per order or the $32 “full” order. 12-14 pieces for this one. The sauce is what ties this dish together, super bomb.Parking: If you go to this location, it’s vallet only! On 01/14/24, they charged $7.

After a week of $200-300 so-so dinners on Oahu we were ready to find something affordable and not a fast food joint. After reading about this place in a SF Gate article about Anthony Bourdain's favorite Hawaii restaurants, we were very happy to find delicious food to feed the whole family (with leftovers!) for less than $100 with tax and tip! Started with the the garlic and buttered edamame and a half Farmer's Salad, for entrees did the fried chicken with a side of kimchee and the biggest BIGGEST plate of fried rice I've ever seen. It was enough rice to feed the entire family, sans all the other dishes we ordered. To top it off the waitress was ridiculously nice, welcoming and friendly, she was legit happy we were dining at the restaurant and wanted to make sure we had a great experience.
