We planned to go to Honda for service, but I thought I'd do more research. Found Stewart's through Yelp. It took a couple of weeks for an appointment but all worth the wait. We're pleased with Stewart and his transparency. If you want a mechanic you can trust, Stewart's is the place for it. Good vibes.

I have a Honda Fit 2020 that was due for it 30,000 miles service. I didn't want to take it to the dealership which would run my close to $700. So I looked through Yelp and chose Stewart's Auto based on reviews. I am so glad that I did. Stewart was honest and said that after inspecting my car and the mileage, my car needed nothing done that equated to what the dealership charges. He inspected the car and changed the fluids and charged me a fraction of what I would paid. I was relieved and ecstatic. He said that I wasn't due for another service until early next year. I highly recommend coming here for your car needs.

If you have a Honda, Acura, Toyota, or Lexus, this is a great place. You need to make an appointment WAY in advance which is not convenient if your car just broke. But for people that do annual maintenance or have a backup vehicle, its a good option. Stewart is honest and his team does good work. He's been at this location for over 20 years.

Had our timing belt service completed with Stewart and got his opinion on a couple other issues that our van was having. I found that he was very knowledgeable and correctly diagnosed a problem that previously had been more of a "try things to see what works approach" with a different mechanic. He was truthful into what all the options were, including the easy extend the life of the current parts a little longer service that could buy some time. All in all I'm very happy with the service!Service: Engine repair

Absolutely the best independent repair shop I've gone to. They specialize in Acura/Honda, but Stewart said he also does Toyota and Subaru as well. My Acura engine was acting up, and I was afraid to drive it, so he even recommended a towing company to take my car into the shop. He diagnosed the problem and explained the repair thoroughly. The car is running great now, and I will use this shop for all my vehicle's maintenance going forward [I'm tired of paying way too much at the dealership.]

I brought in my CRV to see if the oil plug threads were stripped as there was oil dripping from plug. I had been using the same independent oil change company since I purchased the car but after my last oil change, I had oil leakage issues. Without getting into details of the company that damaged my oil pan threads, I told Stewart about the problem and scheduled an appointment. Not only did Steward know exactly what to do (repaired threads by installing a time-sert thread repair) he repaired it for about 20% of what it would have cost to replace the oil pan... which I had been quoted by another shop. Stewart is really knowledgeable and service oriented. He even took a pic of the oil plug thread damage to show me which was not really needed, but I appreciate this level of detail. I highly recommend Stewart's Auto Service.

oh, I can't recommend Stewart's Auto Service enough. I wish there was 10 stars. It was my first time there and they did everything right. Specifically, they were ready to take my car at the time of my appointment and greeted me like a human being. I dropped my car off at 7:15 AM and they called me at 9AM to tell me my car was ready to pick up at the price we had agreed upon. In addition to oil change, fueled check, etc. they noticed a nail in my tire-they fixed it. They noticed my brake light was out-they fixed it. They noticed my car's safety check was due and they performed it with a minimum charge. The whole experience makes me feel so much better about my aging car because there is a good mechanic to take care of her.

Stewart was an absolute pleasure to work with. He's extremely knowledgeable and willing to do what it takes to get to the root of whatever issue your vehicle is having. I'll absolutely be bringing any vehicles having issues back.

I was informed upon arrival that they only work on Hondas and Toyotas. This should be made apparent in marketing and in the google listing.

Catalytic Shield installation: Stewart installed the Cat Shield on my 2010 Prius. I bought it on Amazon and he put it on - probably took 1 - 1.5 hours and cost less than $150. He etched my VIN into the cat-converter to discourage it from being sold to metal recyclers. He also painted the shield orange to contrast with the underside of the car - the Cat shield won't prevent a theft but hopefully will discourage a would-be thief from trying. He adjusted the shield to make sure there would be nothing rattling/vibrating when I drive. I had this problem with a different product installed at a muffler shop which then had to be removed. I got an appointment for the next day - someone had cancelled - so I lucked out. Stewart is old school, quiet but personable. And Jean (his wife?) was very nice. She even helped me merge into the street after a large truck blocked my view. He specializes in Hondas and Acuras. I will definitely be back when it is time for maintenance on my husband's Ridgeline.

If you plan to have work done, Stewart's Auto are specialists when it comes to Honda/Accura. But unless it's an emergency, expect about 3 weeks out for an appointment at this time, well worth the wait. Our 2009 Honda Pilot was shipped here from the mainland. We knew we should have changed the timing belt, water pump and all the parts that go with this 100K maintenance. Stewart suggested we change all the oil pump gaskets as well since they were going to be in there working and it would save us on labor long term. We did that, but first my husband checked with our regular mechanic in California for his opinion. Our mechanic concurred and also gave us a ball park on the repair. I know we were afraid to get overcharged by an unknown mechanic in a new state. Well, the final bill was within $100 of what our mainland mechanic would have charged. We will continue doing business with Stewart's Auto while we here on island as his prices are very fair and an honest business owner.

Just moved to Honolulu and did not know anyone who can work on my 2009 Honda Pilot that we shipped here from the mainland. Before leaving the mainland, we replaced the thermostat as it was draining the battery by keeping the engine cooling fan on. Also was experiencing a couple of other electrical problems after the Pilot came off the ship. In less than 90mins, the Stewart team found the new thermostat was not faulty, but one of relays was intermittently failing and leaving the engine cooling fan on, which was drained the battery. He was able to get my radio to work again and one of my dome lights needed a bulb change while another had a bad switch. No more electrical drain on our car. He verified the alternator was charging strong and the battery was holding its charge and strong cranking power. Next, we want to install one if these switches to easily disconnect our battery when I go back to mainland for a surgery and recovery.

Always courteous, no BS. They've come through whenever it was needed. What more can you ask for?
