We loved the people that run this hotel. Florence, Ethel, Charlene and please forgive me I can't remember the other names. They made us feel at home.

Had a great night's stay here. The open atmosphere and large rooms make it very comfortable. Easy beach access and many nearby restaurants. The 1950s feel adds a ton of charm. We'd gladly spend a week here and will stay here again next time we're in Honolulu.
It's an excellent departure from the usual Honolulu resorts and massive crowds.

This is a very well kept and central location in Waikiki and you can not beat the value. There are many regular (my old boss was one of them) guests here who come back knowing they can have a quieter , relaxing and safe experience here. VERY happy with my exeprrience and the best is the customer service from the staff. I would like to PARTICULARLY thank Tim the night auditor for going ABOVE AND BEYOND with this courtesy and extended service to me as I'm an early riser and see him often at front desk, he never hesitated to put aside his work to help. THANK YOU for a great stay!

Awesome hidden gem in the heart of Waikiki. The service from check in to check out was excellent. If showing up early in the morning call ahead as they may be able to have a room available upon arrival. Showed up early as the flight came in ahead of schedule. Free coffee available all day to guests. If your an avid fan of felines they have a resident cat on site that will greet you as you make your way to and from the hotel. The front desk staff are phenomenal and keep the hotel in immaculate shape. It's a 2.5 star barebones orginal Hawaiian hotel but the hospitality and cleanliness are worthy of 5. Can wait to visit again and bring the family along.
Rooms: Minimalist design. Kept to the standards of original Waikiki hotels.
Safety: Walked almost the entire Waikiki area and felt safe day and night.
Walkability: Within walking distance to all Waikiki area attractions.

I’m a long time customer of The Breakers and always enjoy our annual stay at this venerable hotel. We had our month long stay in April/May and met up with a lot of regulars and made new friends. As always we had a wonderful time and the staff treated us like family. We will keep coming back.
This review is in part a rebuttal to a previous reviewer who said he/she was treated badly and security was called and said, “ Never Again”.
What was the review for? Wasabi Bistro or The Breakers? If a good time was had at Wasabi then “Never again” sounds contradictory. And that phrase cannot be directed at the hotel because he/she didn’t stay there!
Plus there isn’t security at the hotel.
When walking through the hotel grounds, Wasabi patrons are asked to respect the hotel guests and conduct themselves in a civilized manner. As on any hotel property.
Is it possible the blame lied on themselves?

Very unfriendly staff. Rude and disrespectful. Not welcoming and do feel like home. Will not come back again.

Horrible customer service. Old female host at the front greated us horrible. We weren't even staying at the hotel. There is a lovely Japanese restaurant on the property which we were going to have dinner at. We had a lovely dinner. Leaving we were waiting at the front gate by the curb for our Uber talking amongst ourselves, she called security. 9pm while just waiting for our Uber. Horrible miserable human being who is affiliated with this hotel. Never again

I have used your services more than 10 times.
I may or may not understand Japanese, but I feel like I'm learning a lot. It's homely and warmly welcoming. Although the facilities are by no means perfect, I consider this my home in Hawaii and keep requesting the same room. It's convenient to go anywhere, and there are many famous restaurants nearby. It's a nice hotel with a sense of openness where you don't have to get off the EV. I think it is suitable for long-term stays.
Rooms: The rooms on the first floor are wheelchair accessible and easy to use. There is no bathtub, only a shower booth.
The building is old and doesn't have an air conditioner, but an old-fashioned air conditioner, but for some reason it doesn't get hot. I want you to enjoy Old Hawaiian.

The guest rooms are quite old, and the outlets are loose, the shower head doesn't work, and there are no screens, so it feels like it's about to reach its limit, but it's well kept.
There was a complete kitchen set, but it was a bit of a mystery as to whether it would work properly. (I didn't use it)
Although the rooms are old, the overall atmosphere of the hotel is very good. A hotel with only lower floors in Waikiki, surrounded by high-rise hotels. As soon as you leave your room, there is a garden and people can relax by the pool. You can also see small birds and geckos.
Whitey, a white cat, was relaxing at the front desk, and I said hello to him while going to get some coffee.
Although it is conveniently located in Waikiki, this is a relaxing hotel where you can forget the hustle and bustle as soon as you step into the grounds.

A unique hotel in Waikiki.
When I went, I couldn't speak Japanese so I learned a lot lol
There was an Easter event that the children participated in and had fun with.
There were also many people from other countries.
Walkability: Very close to Waikiki Beach!

It's been a while since I last stayed here, but I still had a relaxing time. The facilities are old, but they are kept clean, so I think the age is a good thing. The location is very convenient! It's close to the sea and the bus stop.
Maile, the signboard cat, recently passed away to heaven. Thank you, Maile, for creating the opportunity for me to discover this hotel.
We are planning to stay here again next time!
