This place is a great! It's conveniently close to Ward, Ala Moana, Kaka'ako but tucked away enough for a quieter atmosphere. The rooftop pool and seating area offer amazing 360-degree views and is probably my favorite part about Townhouse. Having a resident manager on-site Monday through Friday ensures things run smoothly. Even though parking is not technically secured, the 24/7 security is reassuring and there are cameras everywhere. At least the entrances to the building are secured key entry. Covered parking and 6 guest parking stall are definite pluses. It's close to everything downtown Honolulu has to offer. Highly recommended if you value convenience and a peaceful environment in the city.

Do not buy or rent from here, construction until 2024, no guest parking, board members are rude, and make up there own rules. infested with bugs, horrible smells throughout the building. Asbestos in the walls. Slanted patios so water leaks off no matter what, poor insolation meaning High electric bills. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE

Overall, no real complaints with the building. You can't hear your neighbors, which is a major plus, but you can hear the noise from the H1, which the building sits above. But, considering that this is an issue that you'd face with any building that sits atop of a freeway, I'm not knocking any points off of the building for that. Closing the doors to the lanai does cut down on the highway noise quite a bit (then the highway noise sounds like background, almost white noise to me), but then you have the issue of needing to turn on the AC if it's a certain time of year/heat index. If your unit is without an adequate AC, then, yes, you're going to have issues with heat, especially if you work from home and are in the unit at the worst part of the day. But you resolve this problem by getting a good AC; shame on any LL that doesn't provide an adequate AC, either here or elsewhere. The owner of one unit (1516) even installed central AC at his place before he sold it.On the plus side, the location is excellent. A few minutes drive from Chinatown, Whole Foods, Ala Moana Mall and beach park; a 15 minute drive to the airport and 10 minutes to Waikiki; a couple of blocks from the Blaisdale Center and other areas; and (either a con or a pro depending on who you ask) direct access to the H1, which can make for much easier commuting. The building amenities are also solid, to include 24/7 security/front desk attendant, an on-site property manager, rooftop pool and recreation area, etc. The HOA fees also cover water, sewage, basic cable, and daily grounds upkeep. One thing to keep in mind is that street parking in the area absolutely sucks in the evening. If you don't have assigned parking (every unit should have at least one assigned spot, but if you find yourself with more vehicles than spots, you'll struggle if coming home past a certain time), I'd work to get assigned parking ASAP as it is not fun looking for it.

Most of my issues with this complex tend to deal with my individual landlord and unit rather than the building management. If you do decide to move here, please ensure your unit has adequate AC installed. While living here, our unit never went underneath 85 degrees all year long with minimal airflow and the constant noise of H-1 outside, living here was extremely unbearable. Our neighbor even had the same issue with her unit, the west side facing units catch 0 breeze allowing the units to completely bake despite being listed with a "mountain breeze." Our landlord refused to make any changes to the AC unit despite the small AC we had, leaking everywhere constantly. Our security deposit was also not given back to us until legal action was threatened. There are so many better options on island, I promise. We pay $100 more a month now for a quieter place with central AC. Don't settle on this place if you are not ready for excessive heat and constant noise.

I have owned at the Town House for nearly five years now and absolutely love the building. I'm military and no longer live in Hawaii at the moment (though I hope to return next year!), but have been able to charge a significantly higher than average rent for the area due to both the building location/amenities as well as my specific unit design/improvements. Pros:1) Great building that is secured with a security team and has daily grounds upkeep/cleaning. You would never guess that the building was built when it was as the board has taken care of both the exterior and interior of the building. The building insulation is wonderful between units and I have NEVER heard my neighbors, regardless of the time of day, and my unit is adjacent to units whose owners have young children. 2) Great location. Only a few blocks from the Blaisdale Center and the trendy Kaka'ako neighborhood, about a mile from the beach and Ward Center, a two minute drive to the new Whole Foods in town, adjacent to Chinatown, 15 minute drive from the airport, and right on the freeway for easy access to start your commute for the day. You really close to all that city-living has to offer by living at the Town House.3) Great amenities and views. Adding somewhat to number 1, the building amenities include water, sewage, basic cable, and 24/7 security (all are included in the monthly HOA fees); wonderful rooftop pool and recreation area; wonderful views to include the city, ocean, diamond head and mountains that you can take advantage of with the floor to ceiling windows in every unit; etc.Cons:As much as I'd like to give any building that I own in a 5 star rating, I will not mislead the public as it is not honest and ultimately would be a disservice to owners and renters alike. That said, there are some cons to living at the Town House.1) Parking. Parking absolutely sucks in this neighborhood once the evening rush starts. Considering that there are only 5-6 guest parking spots and that each unit generally comes with one assigned parking (though there are some gems with two and some with one spot large enough to fit two smaller cars, the lack of neighborhood parking can be a pain if you have two cars or are having guests over.2) City noise pollution. Living in the city will never be truly "quiet." While I have never had a problem with noise issues from my neighbors, the building does sit over the freeway, so that can be an issue if you want to have your lanai doors open (with the doors closed, the freeway noise isn't really a problem for me and I'm even used to the freeway noise with the lanai doors open, but it's really up to the individual). Granted, I think this will be more of a problem the higher up in the building you are, as the lower floors benefit from being closer to ground level sound barriers enclosing the freeway. All in all, I'm very happy to own at the Town House and look forward to living there again soon.

Very nice secure apartments in a great neighborhood but parking maybe very tight for big trucks and SUVs.

Town side of the island is cool because its peaceful, and the people are positive and keep busy.
