Vera Vera Mom calls this store lol!I've been introduced to Vera Bradley initially by a friend and have been in love with it ever since. From their vibrant colorful totes to accessories that seems to have a style for every person's needs. Sadly this International Marketplace location I believe is the only storefront besides the outlet in Waikele. As I took advantage of some bites nearby I needed to walk it off and you know I had to give this place a visit...Nadine C and Angel H had beaten me to it as I had to check out their collaboration with Hello Kitty...eeeeeee!!!!The cuteness overload was quite overwhelming and it wasn't just totes but accessories, slippers, blankets are just some of the items they had and I had to put every muscle to hold back the "wants" that was pulsing through me. I did have my birthday offer but used it on other items but am so excited with this line. The Disney line is still my favorite but hello to this cutie as it certainly has brighten my day!Thank you!

Shopping for Hello Kitty items in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii...I first learned about the Vera Bradley brand from one of my high school friends. She told me how she really liked the durable, washable, lightweight, and colorful fabric. She's a smart shopper, so, I trusted her. However, at the time, I was a poor college student.Later in life, I learned about how this successful company started:From humble beginnings, two friends noticed how luggage - back in the day - was so drab and boring. They decided to market their unique products through college students... (there was no internet yet) and the rest is history! On the Island of O'ahu, there's a Vera Bradley shop in Waipahu at Waikele Premium Outlet. They won't have the latest prints such as this new collaboration with Hello Kitty. They do have discounted prices on older prints and styles. That's why I had to go to the Flagship Store in Waikiki. Located on the ground level of the International Marketplace - closer to the Kuhio Avenue side - Vera Bradley currently has Hello Kitty products in the display windows! I waited outside of the store until it opened at 11am. Luckily, it was a holiday (King Kamehameha Day) and I parked on the street for free. (I didn't want the stress of only getting two hours free with a $10 purchase at International Marketplace. I hadn't planned on going shopping. I was across the street at breakfast when I remembered that my friend, Angel, showed me photos of the new Hello Kitty items... Uhg!)I couldn't decide on what to get. I overheard the salespeople mentioning that it's "sold out online" and that they're getting calls from the mainland because they're the only store that still has Hello Kitty merchandise... Oh, the pressure!I looked at the blankets, towels, pillows, backpacks, notebooks, luggage tags, cosmetic bags, socks, flip flops, scrunchies, tumblers, bathrobes, sleepwear, etc. I figured that even if I could buy online, I would be saving money by not having to pay for shipping... So - I should get something now - while I'm there...I finally decided on a wristlet that can hold credit cards, coins, money, and cell phone! Taking my wristlet to the friendly cashier, she entered my information into the system and gave me a new "fresh" wristlet in a plastic bag from the drawer below! Yay! It's a "clean" one! I'm quite happy with my purchase! However...I looked online at home and saw that the Hello Kitty x Vera Bradley items are NOT sold out. I was disappointed to discover that this Limited Edition was released on June 1, 2023. How can they be sold out in just twelve days?Oh, well...We learn something new daily... I didn't want to buy online anyway...

I've never been a fan of Vera Bradley or own any of their items. I was passing by at the International Marketplace. They had this huge setup with the collab they were doing with Hello Kitty. It was the cutest.Of course, I had to go inside to check it out. They had three different prints with Hello Kitty: gingham, paisley and bows. They had bags, clothes, slippers, note pads, bag charms, etc. You could just get the whole collection.I was only interested in the shoulder bag. It came in the pink gingham print. I don't like pink. However, I'll make an exception for Hello Kitty, as pink is her color. I swear I must have stood in the store for half an hour going back and forth on whether to get the bag or not. I finally had to text the bestie. He asked if I was actually going to use the bag. I decided not to get it after all. It's really cute and I thought about it the entire night, but in the end I knew I wasn't going to use it. It'll better serve someone who will carry it around, than collecting dust on my shelf. They also had a collab with Disney, which was really cute. It had many different Disney characters on the print. The bags look really well made. I think her bags are known for the puffed quilting.

Vera Bradley has also been one of my favorite places to shop especially when it was located in Ala Moana. Now, it's located in the International Marketplace in Waikiki. While it's much much smaller than before, it's quality has not changed one bit. You can also save a lot going to the one in Waikele outlet but take a chance on not getting a specialty item like Disney, Snoopy and Hello Kitty.Their products have always been well made and told different stories and each bag and pattern has a name which made it quite special. However, I'm a tad disappointed from yesterday's adventure. I had visited the night prior but was short on time and asked to place those items on hold and then I'd return in the morning. The evening staff member, Janice was kind and even offered me a 15% off my items that weren't Disney or Hello Kitty because I work in the medical field. However, I was quite disappointed because the morning staff including the manager whom I met the evening prior was totally unfriendly and did not honor what was conveyed to me. Although, she did offer me a validation sticker for parking which I did appreciate and thanked her. This is the first time I felt like a nuisance since I've collected VB over 15 years ago all across America including ALL the Disney/World Disney Parks. I've always gave them as gifts to family, friends and clients because they are special. At one point I was close to the regional manager, store manager and all the sales people. I think it's time I've shared my thoughts with corporate after all this shop is located in Waikiki and if they want the sales then they can certainly train their people to at least care for the customers willing to spend money. I rarely write poor rating reviews but I need to be honest with consumers. So sad I had to write this review and subtract 2 stars.. I'm hoping they will change.

Customer service lacks at this location. Their policy does not follow Vera Bradley corporate procedures. If I were you, I would drive out to the west side and go to that location for better service and a bigger product line. I think the store manager thought I was some tourist rather than a local resident I called the Vera Bradley national customer service department who informs me the Waikiki location is incorrect regarding the parking validation procedure especially after spending $500+ and returning $90 Go figure it is a question of principal and procedure not the parking fee

The initial sales woman was helpful and friendly, but it really bothers me when you are treated poorly upon returning something, in my case, a purse purchased several days before. I kept the other purse so it's not like I returned everything. When I called to see if the shop would validate parking for the return, I could accept that they don't, but please don't bark NOT FOR RETURNS! Your sales person could also be nice enough to add that there is a 15 minute grace period and that an option would be to buy something to eat for validation--found this out after I called the parking office. This kind of subpar service leaves a bad taste in my mind. As a kamaaina, I will continue to shop at Macy's and Nordstrom because I consistently get treated with respect and courtesy--on purchases AND returns. Small shops need to do better if they want to survive this economy.

Went on Monday, there was a new person, "J" working all by herself. She didn't know how to redeem VB gift card. She said another associate would start in an hour. Said she would call me, so I went looking around at the other stores. Got a call from her when the other associate came in. Apparently the 2nd associate "D", also wasn't sure, she only does "sales". When "D" did figure out how to redeem it, one of the cards couldn't be redeemed. It gave her a message saying that it exceeded the cash out amount. So she checked the balance on the card and it had $. D. then called someone else and actually facetime. The person on the phone didn't know why it was saying that. They tried looking in their manual and couldn't find "how to redeem a gift card". J started calling customer service but whoever D was talking to said don't talk to them because it'd take to long and they're not helpful? Said to try calling another store. So J hung up and D called another store, and they didn't know why the register was doing that, so said to call IT. J was feeling really bad about all this, D made a joke saying hope I have all day - not funny. At first, felt bad for J because I know how it feels to be brand new and things not going right but after that comment from D - just wanted to get out of there. D told ME TO CALL customer service and then let her know what they said. WTH - is that customer service?! Said wanted to purchase what I could with the 1st gift card and leave before the validation time ran out (2 hours). J didn't want me to have to pay and was going to give me another validation sticker - D snapped at her that could only give 1 sticker, giving another will not help. Then kind of snapped at me asking "how many stickers she gave me" If that is the case, wouldn't you want to get your customer out before time runs out and they have to pay for parking! Well, it went over and I had to pay.Sorry for the ranting - but D just got under my nerves. The vibe I got was that D looked down on J for being new and not knowing what to do. Excuse me - D needs to look at herself. She worked there longer and should know how to do things but didn't. Her excuse is that she only likes to sell and not touch the register (but now thinks maybe she should learn more) at least J was trying and felt bad. D made like it was my gift card and I should try to find out what is wrong.Yesterday, D left a voicemail asking me to call the store. When I called, they wanted to know if I had contacted customer service and found out what was wrong. Before I left, D took a picture of the gift card number, so she also could've done this for me since she represents VB in a way.Well, I did call customer service this morning and explained what happened. She said they should've called IT. Anyhow, she offered to place my order for me and pick it up from the store. Which is what I actually tried to do but it wouldn't let me pick "in store pick up", so since I was off and had to go near there, decided to stop by the store and shop in person - bad idea.Didn't want to give any stars because of D but J was really trying and she really felt bad for me spending all that time (not in a fun way) there. Not totally her fault - she shouldn't have been scheduled to open the store and be by herself (even for just 1 hour). I wasn't the only customer she helped in that first 30 minutes.

every time I get the opportunity to come into this location so women are very friendly and helpful. I love that they have the new Hawaii addition I'll select bags and towels. The manager is very friendly and is passionate about her brand. I love shopping at Vera Bradley and the outlet store in Waikele.

Democrats of Hawaii, I wouldn't spend any of my hard filth pig $ at a store who employs people like Lisa. Terrible customer service.
