Went to get a poke bowl at our favorite foodland on the island after our fast, Kahea was there to make our order. My husband ordered a poke bowl and I stepped away for a sec to look at the front of the poke station since there were so many options. We go here all the time and have great experiences with all the workers. But today I guess Kahea was having a bad day and wanted to take it out on someone, my husband got his poke bowl and Kahea asked if there was anything else we wanted. I tried to order some crab poke and he cut me off and asked my husband again if there was anything else, I said "yes the crab" and once again was cut off. My husband responded yes my wife is trying to order we're together. And Kahea said I'm asking you if your order is done to my husband, being confused we said no WE want to order more. Kahea was not able to contemplate that we were together and I guess wanted us to order as separate people. So I said okay he's done, Kahea asked me what I wanted to order and when I said crab again he cut me off and started to talk to my husband again (my husband didn't say anything but was understandably upset) this caused them to have a small argument and Kahea just said the same thing. Kahea tried to pull the "have aloha" on us when he was the one arguing with a customer for no reason. My husband just repeated saying we're together so no the order was not complete (maybe Kahea wanted my husband to order the crab, who knows). Kahea even asked if we needed to be escorted out. Like what? Just because we wanted to order together? We've been coming here for over 20 years and never was told we needed to order as separate parties. We ended up not taking the poke and spoke with the manager who apologized on his behalf but kept saying "everyone orders poke bowls it's not hard I'm not sure why he did that". Basically didn't help with anything. We both work with a lot of people around the island and tourists and always recommend foodland but this foodland location specifically (no matter how far the drive) because we always have good experience and the flavor is on point. That's definitely going to change. Unfortunately we came on the wrong day and got disrespected just because we tried to order together. It just leaves a sour taste and sucks that we won't be returning. Ala Moana has better fresh poke anyways so it's not too bad. Good thing there's other food options here at Market City.

Not all Foodlands are created equal. In recent years, they opened a new format, Foodland Farms, that caters to a different demographic. My friends have been shopping here since we started visiting the island annually in 1992. Things haven't changed much but the store remains well maintained with a good selection of grocery items both mainstream and local. The item that my friends enjoy the most are their local cooked foods ( and poke/seafood sections ( as you can see, their selection is pretty extensive ( During this visit, we mainly bought drinks for our room and each got a slice of the guava chiffon cake ( I was a bit disappointed with the guava cake as there was little if any guava flavor. My favorite was probably from one of the bakeries in the nowcl gone Shirokiya Dept. Store. We will continue to shop at this store on future trips. Don't forget to get a Kama'aina account and, better yet, a senior's account if you qualify to enjoy an additional discount. Next time, if I hadn't eaten a meal before coming, I'll likely rekindle more food memories by getting a plate from Gina's a few doors down.

If u wanna just eat poke come here and stock up on bulk poke and rice and save yourself millions. The prices r very reasonable (less than $14/lbs for almost all of the fish ones, cheaper if u get more, less than $10 for the other poke types) they let u sample if it's not busy. Highly recommend, definitely worth the walk over

I heard that the poke at Foodland is a must-try in Oahu. There are tons of cool food options in the store and I wish we could have tried more. I ended up sharing a poke bowl, spam musubi, and a lilikoi creme brûlée. We were able to try a couple samples of the poke before deciding and went with the spicy Mayo ahi and the spicy Hawaiian style. I thought the poke was very good, although a little more expensive than I was expecting for grocery store poke ($22/bowl). The spam musubi was good and the lilikoi creme brûlée was a little too sweet for me. We also got an assortment of fresh fruit and brought it back to our Airbnb.

Foodland has got some of the best poke. Even better than a lot of restaurants too. They have a reasonable price on their poke selection (not the farms location) and is really fresh as well! The poke is decadent, tender and full of flavor. An absolute treat. Only thing is i wish there was a seating area here but it's alright. Service was really friendly even though it was our first time ordering poke in a grocery store. Really nice people, amazing poke!

Well known Hawaiian grocery chain. Known for their poke (which is very good). The stores are clean and service is friendly. Good selection of local produce as well.

The only place I'll shop in Hawaii. The deli and poke bar are out of this world. The selection of different poke is insane.

If you're on a budget and going for more than 2 lbs of poke I highly recommend Food Land! I honestly think food lands poke is better than a lot of poke spots! Everything tasted so fresh we even got to try samples of everything before we decided on what we liked! I can understand why all the locals would come here. Cook your own rice at home and come here for the poke! It's $11.99/lb but if you get more than 2 lbs it's $9.99/lb

Best poke on island!!!! Seriously. Don't waste your time elsewhere with not as fresh fish. The ahi melts in your mouth and is so good. Even the salmon is the best salmon poke I've ever had!

A market in Hawaii. I see locals and tourists line up for their poke bowls here. I wanted to try their poke and we ordered a pound of salmon, tuna x2, and marinade crab. Everything was delicious especially the marinade crab. My fiancé ordered a pound and it was not enough. Definitely would visit a Foodland again when in Hawaii.

I came here for lunchtime and I got a bowl of Spicy Ahi Hawaiian with rice and it was amazing. With every bite, the food just melts in your mouth. I had such a hard time choosing what I wanted because there was so many options and they all looked so good. The lady that helped me was so nice and she gave me such a welcoming experience considering it was my first time in Hawaii. The location was well organized and clean. There is also easy parking.
