I tanked the car up to full 3min before drop off and I was still charged a gas fee! Absolute thievery! Of course, the automated customer service number keeps sending me to their website to create a claim. After painful Hertz website shuffle, I finally submitted my claim now to wait 7-10 business days for their review. Anyone willing to deal with this go ahead, I'm keeping away from Hertz indefinitely!

I had the best customer service experience at this Hertz. I reserved a compact car online for one day and picked it up immediately. *Online prices were cheaper than in person. I was having a great time and called the next day for an extension, it was processed within minutes! The drop off was seem less too. 10 mins from OGG Airport, this will be my go to spot in Maui.

Very rude staff. The staff would not wait for us to finish asking our questions before providing a response in a rude tone. The staff publicly spoke bad about other customers after they walked away. The website provided inaccurate information related to amount of luggage that the vehicle is able to fit. Cars options were mainly dented, dinged, and in low quality.

Let me warn you not to rent from this place. Just don't. In my 30 years of renting cars, l've never had an experience like this!1. The store front was closed when we showed up at 11:30am on 7/1. It took us and another lady 15 minutes to find and go to Hertz Gold Member line in the Garage. A sign would be nice, like any decently managed stores would do.2. Only one person was at the counter helping non- gold members. We had to wait an hour to get to the counter.3. Finally get to the counter. Took any other 15 minutes to check in. When I complained the lady tells me I should have gone to another rental.Finally she was able to find a car and she tells me to go to row 1 and find a car and if none just waitthere.4.Needless to say we have to wait another half an hour for the car. It just came from the car wash still dripping wet. It's not really a wash as they just hosed it down.5. The car is old and has 45,000 miles on it. 6. Here's the final straw that would break any camel's back. On the third day of the rental, the car won't start. I called Hertz roadside assistance and all they did was get AAA to come out and jump start the car. The battery was dead and the mechanic tells me not to turn off the engine. I had to drive an hour to the airport to get a replacement car. They just gave me gas credit when I wasted 1/2 day of my valuable vacation time.7. When I exchanged car, I asked for further compensation. The counter lady filled out a form but for compensation she needs her manager approval. Of course the manager was nowhere to be seen and she says she'll email be. I have yet received an email after 3 days. 8. This experience is so bad that I'll stay away from Hertz for at least two years before I'll give Hertz another chance. But I'll never go back to Maui Hertz.

I would give this Hertz location zero stars, if I could. They have no shuttle service provided, you must pay for a taxi both directions to/from the airport. The staff is extremely rude, and condescending. When we asked valid questions, as we returned the car, we were told to go back to the mainland, where you came from. Then, when we were outside waiting for our taxi to take us back to the airport, 3 female employees set off their car alarm right next to where we were standing. Then when they came to get in their car, they were mocking us, using profanity, and laughing at us for having to take a taxi to the airport. They again told us to just go home. Very rude Hertz employees! Not a way we wanted to end our vacation on Maui.

3 hour wait for cars properly reserved because Hertz didn't have cars available. What's the point of a "reservation"? Also puts their employees in a terrible spot.

Hertz reserved our car here rather than their airport facility adding time and a $15 taxi fare each way.

After reading a lot of bad reviews I bit the bullet after getting a great rate and booked here as I have had good luck with Hertz in the past.The dates we rented were Feb 7-14 2023.First things first. This location and the people who work here are great!This location is located in the lobby of the Maui Beach Hotel about 15 feet from where our Uber Dropped us off.It is a short 8 min ride from the Airport, My Uber there was 12 bucks and 9 bucks back. It got me there fast.We unloaded our luggage on the hotel steps and left it there while we got our car.There was nobody in line and there were two people behind the counter who were more than happy to help us with AMAZINGand super friendly helpful attitudes.We completed the paperwork and were out of there in about 5 minutes.Because this location is not in the Airport you don't get hit with Airport taxes which really add up. We got a Mustang GT convertible for the week for only $488. Most places had it almost double that some had it more than double.The drop off was just as easy as the pick up. We pulled right up to the front of the hotel. Parked the car 15 feet from the Hertz desk and we were out of there in less than 5 min. I even offered to drive the car back to the lot, about 100 ft away, and put the car back where I picked it up. They said nope and they would take care of it.I am not sure why there were all the bad reviews I read but I can personally assure you that my experience wasn't even remotely similar to theirs.I will be back.

Absolutely horrible service. We booked online and when we came to pick up the office was closed, even though we called Hertz to make sure it will be open. Then Hertz customer service sent us to another location and when we got there they said sorry so sad but too bad for you we have no cars left.Called back customer service and was told to send an email with receipts and they would at least reimburse our Uber to the second location and the hotel ... Did NOT get reimbursed. Filled a BBB report and the business said we don't care and will not be reimbursing your losses. It's a shame businesses can get away with treating customers like trash. BBB documented but can't force them to honor their commitments.Will NOT be giving my hard earned money to Hertz again!
