Rowena's Produce is a treasure and the best place for local produce every day. Located off the beaten track near the Kahului airport, it is like an indoor farmers market with a wide range of local produce, including items typically found at farm stands. It is a secret spot and a first stop for many after landing. The store offers an abundance of amazing fruit, with a particular focus on papayas, available in multiple delicious tiers. It is also the place for fresh coconuts, which are huge, filled with a lot of water, and way cheaper than other options. The staff is super friendly and kind, often opening coconuts for customers. They have an assortment of Asian groceries and small packages of reasonably priced spices. The selection is best before noon, and it offers the best prices for fresh fruits and vegetables in less than bulk sizes. While the lighting is dim and winter fruit may be less flavorful, the produce is consistently fresh and inexpensive, making it a true local treasure.
I love Rowena’s Produce! My husband and I frequented Rowena’s while visiting Maui and tried so many amazing exotic fruits. Our favorites were the cherimoya and lilikoi. Rowena heard us say that cherimoya was our favorite and she threw in a huge extra one for free. It was delicious! Thank you!! ❤️

If you are searching for fresh coconuts check out this place! Way cheaper than other options around the island and the coconuts were HUGE filled with a lot of coconut water. After we drank the water they were so kind to open the coconut up for us to eat the inside.
