Cash deposit was made in person at noon on 10/27 which did not post until 10/30 9am. Tried to access this money on 10/28 was told by teller no deposit was showing up. Started calling Kailua Kona branch that day to get answer but all calls go to Honolulu branch. When they tried contacting Kailua Kona branch no one answered. I was told a message would be sent as they were close to closing time. There was no response. Called on Monday the 30th, was talking to Honolulu again. Repeated the problem & was told the deposit was showing up that morning. Asked why it took almost 4 days for deposit to show, they were unable to answer. Asked why Kailua Kona branch didn’t respond to my inquiry left 10/28, again Honolulu tried to reach them & still Kailua Kona branch didn’t answer their phone. Honolulu had no answer for me. Although, I got an answer by mail days later, it wasn’t from the Kona Branch. When you’re late to pay a bill you get penalized…when money is not available until almost 4 days after deposit is made, who will pay the penalty & fix the negative credit report it generates? To date no response from Kona Branch. Poor Customer Service!

Worst customer service ever. Get the run around and excuse after excuse on why they can't preform basic banking services. Been a customer for years and done many transactions involving bigger sums, really left me in a bind with my own money!!! Would have given no stars if I could have .

I get why people don't trust banks now. I was a customer for 13 years and now closing my account. They completely failed me during my maternity leave and postpartum. I dealt with some of the most awful customer service. (Laurie C & Nikki). First issue: changing my name. I mailed in my marriage license, as instructed was all I needed to do because I am on the mainland for school. When I called in to check on it, I had a new version of the instructions which required me to visit a branch. Why would I have mailed it, if it did nothing to help?Second issue: deposited a large check. Took 15 days to clear, but showed up on my rolling balance for my account. I couldn't figure out what my balance was and customer service kept defending it. Third issue: if you have an issue with customer service, there is no one else. You call the same small room of people and if they choose to ignore you it's. Fine.This is why people don't trust banks anymore

Their list of services is deceiving. You cannot exchange currency at the branch. They told me it’s all done “online” now. Not sure how this works, but not helpful when you need to exchange quickly.

I really love this bank and the staff. Very friendly. I have been with this bank for many years. Last year I bought a house and needed account verification and Casey helped me. She is very professional and knowledgeable. For sure I will continue banking with this branch.

It is a well bank security at entrance are nice and accommodating tellers are friendly and does their job efficiently. ASB could extend parking lot. I hope they open another or put an ATM in Hawaiian Ocean Views markets. That would be convient for AS customers..

The Kailua Kona Branch parking lot is horrid so I always go after hours and use the ATM because they removed the option to deposit checks at the Sac N Save ATM. the new location only has ONE which is out of order!! You would think they could install two ATMs since they own the entire building but Nooo. Why did they get rid of the Sac n Save ATM where you could deposit checks? And why they moved the branch to this horrible location is beyond me! I've always loved American Savings Bank but I hate this location and avoid it like the plague.

This bank has slowly been going down hill and service is getting worse and worse since Covid started. There is one lady who works the drive thru who always asks me if I could use the ATM machine instead?!? I always say no I don't want to cause I have my kids in the car and it's so much easier to drive thru which is the main reason why I bank at this bank cause other banks dont have drive thru access. Then finally this last time she said, "well I guess the drive thru is still open for our lazy customers". Not very professional at all. Since Covid their open hours have gone way down also and it's harder and harder to bank with them. Such a bummer cause this bank used to be clearly better than Bank of Hawaii and others on the big island but I'm not sure anymore.
