  For tourists: you Need to pay for a costco-Card, otherwise you cant shop there. It is a wholesale, Not a typical supermarket. You can only buy big packages.

  It's a good place to stock up (if you don't mind the large sizes) as the prices are the lowest on the island.
  There is a Costco gas station there, too.

  If you're on the Big Island of Hawaii, go to Costco first! You can enter the store with a Japanese member card. If your accommodation has a kitchen, it's best to buy food here! ! Get gas at member prices! !

  Really the most worse Costco in the US. I’ve been a member for more than decades and this is the worst I’ve been.
  
  The staffs are rude at all times back in 8years ago and until now. Seems like it will continue until the store has mode competitors. Recently I went to check out, the woman cashier took(more like GRABed) my card from my hand when I showed her to scan the barcode back of my card. I mean, everyone else just scan and confirm it’s me that’s it. Then she kept it on her scanner and did not give me back, I needed to ask her “may I have my credit card back”. And she said” well, aren’t you going to pay it with this card?” Inside my mind I’m like???? HUH????!!! When does this is ur business? I said “I’ll use another card”. So, here was she said “ then it needs to match ur name on the card”. Inside me again I was just, ahhhhhh, I’m so inner-anger and trying to put everything together! I showed her my cards and then she’s like gland it and starting throwing really throwing my stuffs after scanning! What the heck is all about this?! Do I have fraud written on my forehead?!?!?! So RUDE!
  
  Compare to the mainland, this store has the most overpriced stuff and least latest. Not mentioning when I just wanna return a things has not used. They need to ask tons of questions about why not keep it. Are u a Costco or not, am I the member or not. I occasionally return stuffs that with original tags and not used things. The u just don’t want me return it?
  
  I get it, this is BI Hawaii, the only Costco on this island and we get no choice. Thank u so much Costco I just couldn’t like u more.

  Terrible appliance buying experience. Dealt with online and in-store. I was buying a fridge for my step mom who had knee replacement surgery. I first bought it online because it said it was available in the store, come to find out Costco online and store aren't linked. (I didn't know this but was later educated). I use the chat to ask a question and they told me that Costco online doesn't pull from local warehouse (so if the two don't work together then why show it available in the store at all?) . So they suggested calling the store to see if they do have it in stock so I called and they did. Told them the situation and that I needed it delivered, and they said come on down. I called Costco online and stated they had it and he said we can cancel the order and get it from the store delivered. So they cancelled the order. Drive into Costco see the fridge, noticed that 699 vs online was 1099. Thought that was a deal so I called over the sales person and asked if I could get that delivered and he said we don't and called the manager over. Manager explained the same thing, told her what had happened and she said we have never delivered. So at this point I'm pretty upset and just leave. Called back online Costco the next day because they couldn't reorder the stuff at the discount we received the first time. So it's 300 more plus tax, nothing extra odd for our time spent or anything. No one really seemed to care that in the call I was told to go there. It's a little over an hour drive each way to get there. Anyway waste of time, terrible online app, and customer service is handcuffed by the genius that designed the two systems (online and warehouse) to not work together. They can't even look up each other's orders. Costco online might as well be a different company, and shouldn't be Costco, maybe it should be renamed "Don't Buy" designed by a programmer using Microsoft Front Page.
