Great place to stay and plenty of activities outside of the hotel that my family enjoyed. We were lucky enough to walk by the tennis shop and sign up for tenniscize and pickleball. Neither of which was listed on the resort activity schedule provided by the hotel.

They classify an ocean view as a view of the ocean and lots of parking lot and tennis courts. Yea we can see the ocean but it's partial. Super disappointed

Not much of a beautiful beach. Open to the public. Looks scary.

The place is worth the cost but don't get hung up on regular room cleanings. And they forget if you ask. Either they lack staff or don't pay to attract staff. But the ones that work here are so helpful and friendly.

We had the most fabulous time at this King Kamehameha Hotel that we did not want to leave. The hospitality was out of this world. We were treated special and spoiled so much that we felt very important to every employee. From the cleaning crew, the breakfast staff, and front desk we felt taking care of. Genevieve, Lana, And Ned from the breakfast staff were very pleasant to see every morning. Ned was great and gave us great tips for exploring the island. Steve at the parking gate was also helpful and friendly. Hihona at the front desk had the best hospitality, she was kind and caring, and she went out of her way with our needs that were urgent. We will definitely go back! We highly recommend to all who visit Kona Island to stay at King Kamehameha’s hotel. This without a doubt is the best place in Kona.Nearby activities: Good restaurants, food and shopping. Right by the ocean with a beach next to the walkway, and shopping where family can play in the water.

Great staff, great location. Very nice hotel BUT do not get a room facing the street! Loud cars and music late into the night. You will not sleep! Get a room facing away from the street and you’ll have a great stay.

Here for business. Maybe the least business friendly Courtyard in tbe whole system. I get it. Kona. Beach. Not very relaxing or for a good sleep.

Room was 1/10. It was marketed as ocean view and we paid for ocean view. We have to stick our heads out to peek at the ocean on the other side of the hotel. It wasn’t fair, but my family already offloaded their luggages and we needed to leave for dinner already.Otherwise, location is both great and not so great. Near all the shops and restaurants, but the homeless population is growing in the area and it didn’t seem as safe as before. Just one pool and was crowded most of the time. I feel like it’s really just what you make out of it. We were out and about visiting national parks anyway so it was an ok stay and everyone there was very kind.

We paid an extra $1,000 per room for 2 oceanfront rooms for a week, so $2,000 more on top of the extremely high rate already. Which you can see was a corner room 2nd story, next to the stair case with 60% of the view being the ABC store roof. They say cruise ships dock on Wed & Sun only, in reality cruise ships docked 4-5 days out of the 7. Releasing 1,000s of people off the boat who clog every place around from the little bay to the restaurants and stores. .And you get to stare at a giant cruise ship for half the day. At night it's not safe to walk more than .01 mile due to the transient issue. Snorkeling a disappointment here due to the all the boats and constant fishing. Much better snorkeling 10-20 mins away in either direction. they also advertise first come first serve chairs and umbrellas.. what they don't tell you is 10 for the entire hotel (lol) the person running the shop is extremely rude and will refuse to lend them out so they can charge cruise people for them instead whenever possible. If they offered me 50% off I still would not stay here again, that's how bad and overpriced this place was.

Location: 10/10 Pool bar and grill staff: 10/10 Cleanliness: 2/10 Amenities: 1/10 Hotel Chain: -5/10 Our room on the fourth floor was filthy. Crumbs and spills on carpet, sticky/dirty balcony glass door, and the bathroom hasn't seen a good scrub in years. The bed mattress doesn't have a protector, just a flimsy sheet that does not stay put. The door on the fridge cabinet was rotted and the whole furniture piece is falling apart. We had coffee once and were not able to order room service. The app has it as an option, but it doesn't work. Pay for a room w a view and a balcony? Don't bother unless it's a front view otherwise you'll look at a roof line and a smidge of ocean. As for the balcony? The hotel is a smoke-free building but the guests smoke on their balconies. Rendering them useless to those of us who hate the smell or have asthma. Smoke right at your door will make your room smell like an 80s HWY 66 motel. The beach is wonderful! All 50 yards of it. It is a public beach which isn't a big deal to us but it's pretty crowded, especially when a cruise ship docks for a couple of days. The ship engine smell is also gross. It ruins a perfectly good morning on the water. We had so many other tiny issues that it honestly became a bit of a comedy for us . The location is fabulous, most of the staff were helpful and super friendly. The pool staff is amazing and I cannot say enough good things about them. I heard some complaints about the pool but we found it to be very nice. As i go through my bill, I'm noticing several fees for the most ridiculous things. Visa payment? Fee. Marriot credit? Fee to apply their own credit. Just a terrible marriot.

Do not use the Food and Beverage outlets! The breakfast buffet at $28.95 was terrible. A huge downgrade in food quality and service on this trip as compared to October 2023. The restaurant manager had no idea what she was doing regarding the wait and the seating availability in the dining room. The pool side bar today was a total disaster. Ordered a round of drinks and received them in a timely manner. Ordered food at the same time drinks were ordered. Over 1 hour later the waiter still had not been over to asked for orders on a second round and no food to be delivered after 1 hour. Avoid the Food and Beverage at this hotel should you not want to be totally frustrated that you spent the afternoon here will virtually NO SERVICE! I live in Kailua Kona half the year. Choose establishments that care, not the ones that feel high prices, poor quality of food and service are o.k. Expecting payment by just down right taking advantage of their patrons!
