I would give it zero stars if I could. Two years ago when I opened my account this was a good place to do business I appreciated that it was still very old fashioned. Maybe because it was limited in its technical areas it didn’t seem to big for it britches and ALL about the money; and it felt as though they still saw the member and their needs.Since then, the technology functions haven’t improved in a very helpful manor, the member care is minimal and the positive things, few that they are, can only go to the nice in person cashiers. The call center seems to have digressed to basic service as they cannot help with much out side of a balance; they have to have another agent call me back! The staffing shortage seems more about the bank hierarchy not wanting to put out money so there is enough staff to run the beautiful facilities they have in place for us to bank face to face; sadly, it feels as though they are still stuck in COVID mode the way it’s closed up and not accessible like it was before COVID hit. Beyond FRUSTRATING!I am going to move to a credit union that takes care of the member AND doesn’t seem to just be about the ALMIGHTY dollar. It’s a SHAME what has been allowed to happen to this banking institution.

I am beyond appalled at the customer service of this bank. It is absolutely shameful and they clearly do not care about their customers. Due to privacy issues I won't post much detail but I would highly discourage anyone from ever giving them business. Truly terrible, sickening and inhumane. You should be ashamed of calling yourselves a credit union. Including the utter ineptitude of the mainland call center. Just horrible.

This Credit union is going backwards. First they switched to a call center who has no access to anything and all they can do is take a message. Then their credit card claims department takes forever only to send you a letter stating your claim has passed the allotted time to file a dispute. Now they have switched from their scorecard rewards program to CuRewards where your points don't go as far. Before 5,000 points would get you a $50 dollar amazon gift card. Now at CuRewards you need 7700 points to redeem the same $50 dollar credit card.I've never been apart of a credit union or bank where things continue to get worse and worse. The only good part about the credit union is their rates and the people who actually work at the credit union.

Pro: No negative people experiences and their rates seem lower than other banks. Cons: (cons are outweighing the pros right now) Their hours are very limited, and it's a bank with technology in the stone age. They required me to count my cash to deposit because they don't have a cash counting machine, and I just found out this bank doesn't have the technology to allow customers to transfer funds to external banks, so I would have to write myself checks and mobile deposit it to any other banks I have. This is the biggest con and I will be looking for another primary bank.

The new call center has ruined this credit union. This credit union used to be great but it has gone down hill over the last few years. I have had so many issues lately that I needed to change to a larger bank.First issue I had was a credit card dispute which I am still working on from November 2022 where I was double charged and the merchant closed shop and disconnected everything. Card services has no information to use from the credit union and keeps denying my dispute. I have made 8-10 calls between card services and the credit union and as of 3/8/23 has yet to be resolved. The second issue I had was receiving a new credit card due to the chip not working correctly. My card was going to expire soon so I asked for a new card with a later expiration date and new chip. I was told that the new card would have a later expiration date. I paid for the expedited shipping and I ended up receiving the same card with expiration date. So another couple phone calls to the call center and I was able to get my expedited shipping charge refunded. The third issue I am now dealing with is getting my scorecard rewards points to update on my account. I haven't been receiving any points when I use my credit card for the last month or two. I've left numerous call center requests trying to resolve these issues and I am about to give up completely. It shouldn't be this hard to use a credit union or get things fixed. I have been a member at this credit union since 2008 and will be moving on to a new bank/credit union who has better service and can actually resolve issues.

The branch does not answer and mainland call center is a complete waste of your time.. CU should go back to ''in person service''.

New call center has ruined the bank and they are ruining my businesses. It has been nearly 2 months since I have heard from an employee at the bank. Did they fire everyone? I have left dozens of messages. The new call center hangs up; transfers to the WRONG BANK; does not have permissions; is rude and will result in this bank not existing anymore. I will be clearing my accounts and heading to a new bank. Shame for them I was a great customer for 15 years and we have run 4 businesses from this bank but they put fraud blocks for normal charges nearly daily and it takes 5+ hours EACH to get them cleared and we cannot purchase inventory because of their incompetence.

Their outside customer service doesnt even have access to your account. If you have an urgent matter, there’s no one to help you. The bank has your money, and you can not obtain real help from the bank.

They like to freeze debit cards at random and constantly transfer you when you call to unfreeze them. They also don’t like poor people.

Walked in the door at 4:28 and was refused service because they close at 4:30. Meanwhile, there were other people in the lobby who were clearly being helped.I was told to go through the drive through with my large commercial deposit. In fact, they told me I’d have to circle around through the drive through several times because they don’t allow that large of a deposit!!!Not to mention I had to drive much further because their branch in Kona is currently closed for renovations! I’ve been banking here for over 15 years, this branch is by far the worst! The Kohala branch would never have treated me this way.

The service in my experience has been friendly... the location is a convenience though in my opinion. My one major complaint is that they will freeze or lock your account and only tell you via paper mail. So I didn't find out that they disabled my card because of a home-depot data breach, until I was trying to pay for a meal at a restaurant... And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who missed their paper mail notices. I told them that they should send out phone calls or text messages to warn people when you disable their cards for data breaches and vulnerabilities... The response was "We don't have the manpower to call/text every single customer" I told her "haven't you heard of automated systems?". It's like they stubbornly think that sending out paper mail notices when they lock your card is the best way to do things... That's just lazy, unprofessional, and poor customer service.

Not worth your time or money. I would give 0 stars. They reject good money that should go into my account. Then hold checks from companies they have cashed before. And then when I go to cancel my bank account they won’t give me my money for 5 days!!!then I cant close the account either this company should be held for fraud!!!!!
