So tired of the back up at the pharmacy. They change (shorten) the hours. Open later, close earlier. Then they don't post they close for lunch. I get it - but at least you can let the public know when! Got here at 8:10 Saturday morning, they open at 9. Returned at 9:05 and there were already 7 people in line. Left cause i work in town at 10. Got here at 1:34 on Sunday and they were closed. Picking up meds for my mom - so over this - going to transfer all her meds all to Sam's!

This review is only for my experience at the pharmacy. Came to fill my RX after coming from the Dentist in need of some antibiotics and pain relief. I left my house an hour earlier as I was expecting a long turnaround time to get my RX filled as this was my typical pharmacy experience at Kahala CVS. I live in Kaimuki but work in Kailua and this pharmacy is conveniently located next to my place of employment. This team was amazing! I believe their manager is who helped me and made my experience so fun and pleasant! Even his team had smiles on their faces. You've got a great leader back there in your pharmacy and I hope you recognize that CVS.

First off, this store ALWAYS has a line.Second "Cindy" the cashier ALWAYS has an attitudeThird they allow any kind dogs/pets in the store...IN THE CART!!!!!!As a local girl who comes home ALL the time, I am appalled at the attitude that Cindy not only gave me, but other people who used her as her cashier. Where's your aloha spirit? If you hate your job, stay home! I've been in the store for the past 2 days and EVERY time she had some smart comment to me and others. Today was the best...I asked her to count the candies as I was purchasing a box, and she said "ya they there"...so I trusted her, went to the car, and counted again..I counted one short than what I was charged for...I walked back in and asked her if she could count them again, as the first time she just counted the top row. She said "no need", "I told you they are all there"...I said well to just make me feel better lets count them...she said, "I told you already, no need".....I said well, thanks for checking, have a great day and I hope your day gets better b/c your attitude stinks. All while this was going on, there was a lady in line with HER DOG IN THE CART! Service Animals are NOT allowed to be in carts! That is unsanitary and against the LAW! Yes I made sure to tell that lady that too...I don't care that we are on an island, island dogs are no different than mainland Service Animals and ARE NOT ALLOWED in a cart!Shame on Longs for continuing to allow any kind of dogs/animals in their store. I won't feel bad when they poop or pee in the store or possibly attack someone and get sued!As for Cindy, I hope her day got better and she treats people with more courtesy as you never know who is in your line/store...me or someone in my family could work for corporate =)Aloooooooooha

I was shopping thru the pharmacy area and overheard a pharmacist speaking to a very elderly man in a harsh tone. Every reply, the pharmacist voice got louder and condescending. Thank God I wasnt this poor old man's daughter or I would've ripped into him. Train your so-called professionals better. Suggest he speak to him softly and on the side or have someone else do it! Also your cashiers need attitude adjustments whether they're checking on price verifications or a simple question. Why is it every time your employees act as if customers are a bother!?

I made an appointment on line to get a Covid booster shot. I showed up on time, I checked in, they took my insurance info and asked me to wait, there were a few people ahead of me. after25 minutes I sit down to get the shot and was informed that they didn't get thier shipment of the vaccinations. the lady apologized and told me I would need to reschedule. I asked why did the system schedule me if there wasn't any vaccinations available? she answer "yes the system has a problem." Why didn't the guy who checked me in tell me there wasn't any shots? "He should have explained it to you." The poor woman looked and acted frustrated and depressed. I assume this had been happening for a while. Why didn't they put up a sign? This is terrible customer care.

Worst customer service. There can be as much as 7 workers behind the counter and only 1 window open. It seems like there is a "magic number" of people in line (possibly 12) before someone else opens another window. I gladly took my business somewhere else.

Trying to fill a prescription and my regular Longs didn't have in stock. Called other Longs in town to try and fill. Told to call here, so I did. Told them the medication, that another Longs told me they had plenty in stock. Aidan stated in a short tone that Paul said they had none in stock. Understanding the nature of the medication, I retold them that I am a Longs customer and that my regular Longs didn't have supply and that another Longs also told me to contact this store, which checked this stores inventory and showed they had plenty in stock, so asked to please reverify with Paul. Aidan put me on hold and after 30mins the call dropped. Of the 5 Longs I reached out to, this was the only one where I was treated so poorly and rudely. They showed no interest in understanding or helping me in any matter.

I'm giving an overall rating here after coming here a long time. The recent trend towards big businesses buying up smaller ones and treating customers far more impersonally is awful. CVS has definitely not improved Longs reputation. From my friends telling me bad stories about mixups in scheduling causing them to miss work and still not being able to get their vaccine shot, to the company now reducing staff while putting in multiple new self-checkout lines. I realize that some may like this but many older people have difficulty and some items / coupons /sales pricing doesn't work smoothly so you still need help. They actually fully closed most or all of the normal registers and lanes for days at multiple stores here a while back to force people to use the self checkouts, probably because nobody liked them. They took the regular cashiers and had them help all of us in those lanes instead. I will end on some positives. The Kailua store has a good location and great parking and I was helped recently (in the self-checkout line) by a cheery wonderful new employee there by the name of Sophie. She kept them from getting a two star.

Very grateful for their minute clinic and their pharmacy staff. Was able to get seen right away as a walk in (went in right when opened) and the NP Stephanie was kind and attentive. Don't have a name but the pharmacist that helped me was amazing! Had some issues with my insurance and they gave me my prescriptions at a great rate using GoodRx. Just in Kailua for a few days, but this staff was worth writing a great review!

Wonderful staff and pharmacy. The app is useful. Easy sheltered parking and easy to combine shopping and restaurants at nearby stores.

I used the CVS app to print photos for my daughter's school project due the next day. The app stated photos would be ready at 1am. However, I called Longs to check and was told they closed at 12am (app shows they are opened 24 hours). The cashier, Danielle, was very nice and offered to print the few photos out for us before her shift ended

Older worker was a bit rude, she didn't have to say "please keep 6 feet from the customer" in such a rude tone. Plus she was talking story with the customer ahead of me. If they weren't talking for that long the customer would've been out the door already and me at the counter. I bite my tongue these days especially towards older people I am very proud of myself but she basically put me in a bad mood.

Very large store with a variety of items, not just pharmacy and beauty, but seasonal, snacks, Hawaii gift items, beverages, greeting cards and more. Inevitably there is always something I forget to pack when heading to the beach and this Long's is conveniently located along the way to Kailua Beach. Stopped in and picked up cold beverages, snacks and on the way back, q-tips and toothpaste! Always enjoy perusing the Hawaii gift section for better prices in macadamia nuts, chocolate and coffee. But especially some of the Asian snacks! They sell in small packages so you can buy several to try. The store is clean, long line moved fast. When I couldn't find an item, a rep was happy to walk me right to the spot. Free covered parking a plus!

Customer service is key, especially when dealing with the pharmacy... people you trust handling you/ your children's medicine, making sure everything is correct, updated, and that you actually receive your medicine. Twice this week I called to get help with my children's prescriptions. Monday receiving "help" from a Jarred. Sounded cool at first, but quickly, not a pleasant experience. Attitude, tone, not a good mix... hated it, terrible, terrible. I told him thank you over the phone since I thought he fixed everything, no response..mmm.. really? Second call was 2 days later since my problem wasn't fixed. Thanks jarred. The second guy I talked to was nice, very nice. But I guess he didn't fix it thoroughly? Haha! Thanks nice guy! Finally I decided to go in to fix it in person, who helps me? Jarred... same, monotone, no expression, no sorrys, nothing. He finally supposedly fixed everything (which could've been fixed monday on the phone?), I said "thank you" the first time, no response...bruhhh... for real? Are you deaf? If so then I totally understand. Second time after he helped grab my daughters prescription, i said thank u, he responded then walked away (one motion). Haha, these "kids/adults" that treat us customers as a number and not a person? Please look elsewhere for a profession. The whole tone, body language, attitude...mmm, no thanks. We all got lives that don't need this kind of "blah, junk, terrible" attitude. I'm only posting this review since twice, ...the same person, Jarred, not a good experience. He just confirmed to me that it was not an accident, my experience over the phone with him. And yes, I worked with people, dealing with their money, so I know why customer service, attitude and body language is important, super important. That goes with any job that deals with the public. This is "constructive criticism", take it how you want. I'm going to get my children's prescriptions out of this Longs.
