They were great. Got us all fitted out with a double kayak and gave clear instructions on where to go. We were able to find the beach and hit each of the three landmarks they'd pointed out no problem. No unexpected charges, and the provided lunch was yummy (get Bob's pizza!) Highly recommend!

Had a great time renting a kayak from them. Very simple process, they help you get set up. Just make sure to watch their safety video so you know where to go! The waves are quite choppy on the windward side of Oahu; this isn't your ordinary chill-in-the-baykayaking. be prepared to put in some effort! We ended up only kayaking to Flat Island. There's some beautiful reefs surrounding the island to snorkel. Just be super careful, because the rocks are sharp and the waves can throw you into them if you're too close to the island's edge. Definitely must bring feet protection too.

Booking: I was searching on kayak companies and so many companies had complaints. Then this company was recommended to me. Nothing but great reviews. The website was easy to navigate to make online reservation and I was able to use a discount code to save some money. We were staying at a hotel in the Waikiki area. Kailua adventures will pick you up in the Waikiki area for additional fee, worth it over an Uber. We booked the 5 hour kayak tour to the twin islands with guide. If you don't need a guide, you can rent kayak cheaper and do it on your own, but I don't recommend it.. if you are not familiar with the area, having a guide was super beneficial.Tip: If you are out of shape, go with the 2 hour kayak trip. The 5 hour kayak trip can be rough with the strong ocean waves, but before you start your ocean adventure, you have to walk 4 blocks with your kayak (on a dolly). Then you take it off, drag it down a slight hill, then pull it through a tidal pool then drag it up a small beach incline, then down the bean incline. Then start paddling to get past the people to start the trek to the islands. It was a workout. I run 3x a week, weight train, and swim and I am glad I was active. At the end of the trip, I was sore.Pickup van: The pickup van was a Mercedes Sprinter van and it was comfortable, plenty of space, and A/C. They picked us up at the DFS store at 9am. Matt was our van driver. Very nice and polite and speaks Japanese too.Shop: They sell things from swim wear, to cellphone bags to protect your bags, sunscreen, stickers, and all kinds of stuff. I brought a separate camera and I forgot to attach the lanyard to the camera. They do not sell these in their shop, but Matt (Tommy) was so kind and found some rope, burned the ends, and then another employee used tweezers to get the rope through the tiny camera loop and then I was able to tie a double knit to use my camera and not worry about losing it in the water. Great customer service! I was touched by that. You can a discount on items at the shop because you booked an adventure.Facilities: the shop has bathrooms, showers, changing area, and a room where they will lock up your belongings so that you don't have to worry while you are on your adventure. The place is clean.TIP: For the trip, wear a big floppy hat to protect your face. Wear a rash guard to protect your arms and wear lots of sunscreen and bring sunscreen with you to reapply. The sun is intense! And wear shoes that are good for the water and a tiny hike. After the adventure, I highly recommend that you bring a change of clothes and soap so that you can shower after your long day. Between all the sunscreen and sand, you will feel better if you shower afterwards. Twin islands: The ocean was very rough and it took almost 2 hours to get to the Twin islands. The 5 hour trip is maximum allowed of 8 people. For us, we have 4 kayaks and Tommy did a great job of keeping us together and reminding some of us to hold the paddle correctly. Once we arrived to the island, we did a tiny hike up the side of the island. This requires go over some areas that are tights, slippery, and wet. Make sure that you have good shoes so that you don't slip. The island absolutely has no shade, so again make sure you have hat, rash guard, or something to allow you to get out of the intense sun. After lunch, you can jump into the ocean and snorkel. Gear is provided. Turtles were swimming in the area. Monk lion was hanging out. The birds has just given birth. You can jump into the Queens Bath. Most of the people kept asking when we were going to leave. I think the time on the islands needs to be cut a bit short. We were all ready to head back. The return trip is much faster, took roughly 35 minutes to get back.Lunch: We had lunch on the island. We were provided very nice gourmet sandwiches, chips, oreo cookies, and plenty of water and soft drinks. Everyone here is very nice, many speak Japanese, and everyone truly loves working here and it shows. Everyone poke fun at each other in a good way and enjoy each other company. I high

We booked a 5 hour kayak tour including van pickup from Waikiki. Overall, the pricing, service, and total package was a good value. If you're not physically fit, don't take the 5 hour kayak trip. I'm in good shape (run 3x / week) and have good cardio, and the kayak trip was a workout. First, you must cart your kayak about 4 blocks. Then, pull it through a tidal pool about a block long, and lug it up a small beach. Then, the winds can make the trip out to the island a tough slog. The island part of the tour is too long. We ended up just sitting in the sun for 45 minutes doing nothing. Sandwiches and drinks are included in the tour.Matt (aka Tommy) was a good guide. The shop has fresh water outside shower heads to rinse off and little changing booths to change clothes. Tips: (1) Bring SPF 100 sunscreen on the kayak trip and reapply it. (2) If you don't want to be sticky on the drive back to your hotel, bring something to take of the sunscreen off while using the outdoor shower. (3) Island Snow is a great post-kayak shaved ice treat. (4) Kalapawai market is one block away and offers a great assortment of snacks and drinks.
