I wish I could put zero stars but I can’t so I give a one .
I’m astonished this place still shows a five-star rating. On my child’s first visit, the manager, Debbie, shouted at a 4-year-old simply because he didn’t know how to turn pages, then berated the entire group because one child took a piece of candy from the church candy bowl. My own child was scolded just as harshly and overheard Debbie mocking kids to her coworkers—completely unprofessional.
Children also reported a soda in the bathroom and making crude, unhygienic jokes in front of them. My child felt so uncomfortable they refused to return.
This is not a safe or nurturing environment. Parents deserve better; look elsewhere

I was very pleased to hear at the 1st quarter conference that my child was doing his math at his grade level and his reading was very exceptional. I know that it is because of his lessons at Kailua kimono. Thank you.

So grateful for Debbie and her team! My daughter has been doing Kumon pretty consistently for over a year now. She’s 3 years old, and attends preschool. Her teacher often comments on how good her writing skills are at her age. In preschool she’s learning to trace letters and numbers and with Kumon she can write them independently. We spend about 10-20 minutes a day doing Kumon and it’s fun and engaging for my daughter to learn. I’m so impressed with her progress and the attentive and caring staff. Would highly recommend!

Avoid! Would give zero stars if that was an option. Rude and unprofessional manager (scolded a child who fell down and scraped his knee before entering). Do not honor appointments. Require parents waiting for their children inside to sit (or stand if there are more than 4 as that’s how many chairs are provided) outside breathing car exhaust at a busy intersection. Better off traveling to another Kumon Center if determined to have your child participate in Kumon.

The Kailua Kumon Center is a great program with a professional staff that care and are committed to helping keiki succeed. As a former student at the Kailua Kumon Center I can personally say that it played a huge role in the development and success in my academic career. Now as a parent my children attend and I can already see the improvements it has made and the strong foundation it has set for my kids. The focus, discipline, development, and confidence they gained in the few short weeks they have been attending has been amazing to see. I am excited for their continued growth and I highly recommend the Kailua Kumon Center.

Kailua Kumon Center has been such a blessing to my family, especially my three children. The staff really cares and supports the children by sitting in small groups as well as one on one if necessary. I have children in all the different levels, preschool, elementary and high school and Kailua Kumon Center has allowed them to be more confident in their skills as well as their being more focused at completing tasks in a timely manner. The discipline of this program has proven to me that it is an investment worth doing for your child(ren). We are forever grateful for the dedicated staff that keeps this center a notch above the rest!!

We have been with this center for over 5 years....the employees haven't changed, and it has been great to know that the staff is dedicated to helping the children grow and succeed. It's definitely one of the best decisions we've made to enroll our kids here.

My 3 year old daughter attends Kumon Kailua and I am extremely pleased with her progress. Debbie and her team are the utmost professionals. Debbie is very flexible, easy to work with and cares about each student's success as if they were her own. Every tutor is excellent and gives my daughter the one-to-one attention she needs when she is there. My daughter initially had no experience in formal learning and they helped her to sit, attend, follow directions and learn. I appreciate that Kumon has a curriculum that is researched based and developmentally appropriate, so I don't worry as a parent about what and how somethings is being taught. Being an educator myself I can say with confidence that her experiences at Kumon will give my daughter the strong educational foundational skills that she will need to build on for future academic success.
