We stopped by this store about 10 minutes ago. Very unfriendly. Bad representative of our Kailua town.

Very poor customer service. I don't understand how as a small business you don't greet customers or even acknowledge that someone is in your store. As a local trying to support local businesses, such behavior is very disappointing.

I've driven to this business twice from across town , according to their phone message and the website they were open, only to arrive and were closed both times! Super unprofessional. I left my number to return my call on their voicemail and no response . I will never do business with such an unreliable company.

My sister lives in Kailua and recommended I go here. There’s a couple shops connected. The one I shopped in had local artwork that I always try to support, jewelry, home decor. Definitely worth browsing around

If I had a beach house I'd buy the whole store...super bright and summery feel Red Bamboo has something for every room. Cute notes and fun quotes what a fun place to find gifts for anyone including yourself ;-) Today I couldn't resist a cute denim large make up bag that says "Shopping is my cardio" lol this will be my gym tote. I now know the perfect place to pick out gifts for friend here and afar. Thank you!!

This is such a unique store with awesome Hawaii themed everything. But also basic beautiful items like pillows and blankets. My go to with people visiting and also when I need something cute for the house!

Decent gift store and furnishings. If you liked Pier 1, you'll probably like the Red Bamboo. Picked up a beautifully sounding wind chime. If you're shopping for a gift for a visitor, you may want to check this store out.

I lived on the North Shore for 20 years and visited this shop every time I was in Kailua. Now I can only visit once a year but I always do and I never leave without finding something I must have. Wether shipped to my new home or carried on board it fits right in with my everything I love and gives me pleasure.

Love the items but the girl at the register continuously followed me around the store. I had a few items in my hand I wanted to purchase and she asked to take them to bring to the register and then came right back. She was trying to act as if she was fixing things in the store but it was incredibly obvious that she was following me. I'm a completely normal looking person that dresses appropriate. Made me feel uncomfortable and looking back wish I never gave Red Bamboo my business.

I was hesitate about writing this review but thinking about it again really irritated me. Not one but two times have I come into this store and I was being watched (as if I was shoplifting or something). I wasn't in any appropriate attire or behaving any particular way for them to be so skeptical about me. The first time, my husband noticed that she was following us around the store. The second time, my friend who was visiting noticed it. I think it's completely ignorant and quite frankly rude. I love the items in this store and have actually purchased quite a bit but the second incident of this happening will keep me away. I understand as a shop owner to be vigilant but to literally be following me and making me uncomfortable was unprofessional. I've worked in retail, there's other ways to be cautious without being so blatantly uncomfortable with the presence of patrons in your store.

I was sold a defective item and the exchange was also defective. I was told sorry, no refunds even if the item(s) is defective? Wow, a store where the customer does NOT come in FIRST! Can you spell bankruptcy?

As a Kailua resident, I went to the Red Bamboo and purchased a $7.00+ Hawaiian style decal for my truck window. Turned out that when peeling to separate the decal from its cardboard backing, you could not do the peeling successfully without tearing the decal so I stopped before damaging the decal. I took it back to the store for an exchange and the salesgirl told me you should try rubbing the decal hard and it should separate OK. I took the exchange home and did the rub, rub, with no success. Both decals were defective and I suspect all others were probably old stock. I took the second one back for a refund as I did not want to take a chance on the same thing happening. I was told by the clerk that, sorry, but we don't refund. Only exchange or credit to be issued. So, if you sell defective items to your customers its OK? You're stuck with it? Can you imagine Macy's, Costco, Target, or Ross's selling you a new toaster/TV, etc. that you only wanted that model and it did not work when you took it home and they said sorry. We do the Red Bamboo policy here! Word of mouth can kill a business...MJA Kailua, HI
