Very disappointed in banking services at this branch and perhaps the institution as well. Went to deposit two large checks today .I understand the normal hold on them, but one of the checks was rejected because the date was changed without having a simple initial next to it. It was obvious that the check writer Made the change since it matched the second check, however, Manager refused to take the deposit and I have to return again on another day. I have been a customer for over 30 years and I'm shocked that they would not consider that in providing customer service for this particular request. The check that was deposited is going to be on hold for another 11 days anyway so don't understand why any issue couldn't be resolved before then .It is an inconvenient location to park and enter anyway so would rather do a mobile deposit, but check amount is too big for them to accept. in addition, this branch didn't have any notary available and it also doesn't allow shared banking. Only two people in-line but it's still took several minutes to even get to the front counter anyway. Pretty frustrating when they have a sign saying they were voted one of the best banks in Hawaii. Seriously, considering moving all my accounts and business to another credit union !anyone have any good recommendations?

HiUSAFCU offers all of the usual daily banking services. They have convenient hours, ample parking, and wait time is usually not too long.

On a Saturday we went to the bank, the ATM took our debit card and wouldn't give it back, so we went inside and asked for assistance to get it back. She said the ATM sometimes gets jammed and we would have to wait until Monday to get our card back. It's now Wednesday and we still haven't been able to get our card back! She said we will have to wait until Thursday now. This is ridiculous and super inconvenient to have to wait this long to get our card back.

The lines are always long and slow and have been like that for months . I try not to do to much banking with you guys for that reason . But I'm thinking of closing all my accounts because it's to much and time is of the essence . Please please fix this line problem .

Yesterday I came in to deposit money into my bank account and the lady asked me where I got the money from...isn't it none of her business where I got my money from? Plus it was only 3K...not a lot of money. I'm going to be making a lot more deposits like this and if I'm going to be questioned each time I make a deposit I will close my account here. Plus I can always lie to where I got my money from...like I said it's none of their business. I do have friendly service here most of the time. The day before yesterday the guy was very friendly and nice I wouldn't mind going to him each time I come in. Twice I got helped by the same guy and I gave him my ID in the beginning and he gave it back to me so of course I put it away...then he asked for it two more times (after I put it away) you have no idea how annoyed I was like really?! Don't give it back if your just going to ask for it again and again. This is when I first had my daughter also so I was holding a newborn trying to dig through my wallet ugh!

If I could give these people zero stars I would. I can't WAIT to take my money away from this bank. They are not trustworthy. I have a loan that has been paid religiously every month for four years. Then one day, of their own volition, they decide to cancel my automatic draft WITHOUT notifying me. No call, no letter, no email- nothing. I only hear from them to demand money from me after my payment is late and they've already reported me to collections. For one late payment??? I've never been reported to collections in my life. Their reason? "Oh- it looks like you moved so we went ahead and canceled your payments". WHAT?? Did I authorize that? No I did not. If they would have just left the automatic payments in place, they would have been paid and wouldn't need to be demanding money from me. Go figure. Ok whatever, now I have to go in there and plead my case, which they refused to acknowledge. They "helped" me re-activate my automatic payments and told me I was all set, but refused to refund any fees that they charged me, even though none of this was my doing. So I should be all good, right?? Nope. I checked this month's payment and my auto payments were never reactivated by them. Nice. Now I have to go back down there and see what their problem is this time. If they haven't already reported me to collections that is. Don't bother with this place. Take your money elsewhere.

We've been members for 3 years now, and at first it was frustrating with the long lines, we then figured out-don't go on Saturday when they first open(everyone and their grandma is there) and don't go around 12-1 during weekdays(the tellers are on lunch) Last year we made our first loan, which was approved. And we began our path to financial refurbishment-lol. After staying current , no late payments- paid it off a few months early in fact. We then applied for a larger loan-it was approved and we can't be anymore grateful!! Thank u to our loan officer who took the time to explain our options, show us the terms and explain them in plain English. Lol Also we mentioned that we ultimately want to purchase a home, and she explained down payments requirements, market value apr etc, and encouraged us to take steps NOW so that we can accomplish that within 2-5years. We've opened a savings acct for "new home". Fingers crossed. Giving max stars for getting our 2nd loan approved!! Thank u so much!

I happened to receive an unexpected document from the attorneys for the estate this past Friday, which required my signature in front of a Notary Public. I decided to go to the bank with the document. Signed in when I got there. The notary pubic was there and the document was summarily done in quick time with no charge since I was a member of the credit union. Nice service to have. Readily accessible with no charge.

Since my credit union closed, I signed up to become a member of Hawaii USA. But I need to say, this particular branch at Windward Mall has got to be the worst banking branch ever. It always seem like they are short of tellers. And the lines are always long. Ok, I get it that this bank is situated in a mall, but staffing always seems short and most times tellers are not all that friendly either.

I believe her name is Kylie, but she doesn't listen. The first time she wasn't listening to what I wanted on my check so it was wrong but I dealt with j. Second, she withdrew money from the wrong savings we needed money from. Seems very distracted all the time.

Great customer service whether on the phone or in person. They do their best to inform you and answer your questions. The lines are always long but you cant help that and thorough transactions take time to deliver good accuracy. Switched to them from american savings bank. So much better loan rates and so much easier to transfer money. only reason im giving five stars is the hours are a little slim to be open plus closed on weekends.

This is the only HUFCU on the windward side, so I have to make the drive here if I want to do my deposits and do any other banking needs that a share banking can't get done right away. The nice thing is that it is in the Windward Mall, so parking is abundant. Located next to Pho One/ theaters side, it's immediately to the left of entering the mall sliding door entrance. The tellers are friendly as many reviewers had mentioned, but there are too few of them. Many windows at the counter, but most are closed, leaving only two tellers open on a busy Friday. I don't recall ever going on a day that had more than 3 tellers open! That's crazy! I don't feel like the tellers aren't efficient, because I think that that are whenever they're assisting me, but there are times when customers require a lot of attention and time. I'm not one of them, so it can get a bit time consuming to wait. Sometimes the line goes quickly and sometimes it doesn't. What I have seen in other branches when the line gets long is that a person at a desk will offer to take care of simple deposit transactions at their desk. This may be something that they could do to alleviate the line. Otherwise, if you do come, allow yourself anywhere up to 20 minutes to wait if there is a long line and 2 tellers.
