Koʻolau Center is a versatile shopping plaza offering a range of businesses for the community. It features a grocery store with a pharmacy, fast food restaurants, a nail salon, and a DMV for obtaining permits and road tests. Conveniently located off Kahekili, it serves as a great stop for last-minute essentials or meals. The center includes popular spots like Times Supermarket and Times Coffee House, known for hearty local fare, although its dinner hours have been affected by COVID. Visitors enjoy the peaceful setting, framed by the Valley of the Temple mortuary. While the fast food options meet expectations, there are mixed opinions on the quality of the Mexican restaurant. The DMV is noted for its quick service and friendly staff, despite some outdated equipment. Overall, Koʻolau Center is a practical destination for dining, shopping, and essential services, appealing to locals and those passing through Kahalu'u.
I go here often for grocery, Chinese food, and plate lunch. The old movie theater is a big vacant building
