“What goodies do you bring from Hawaii? I have a special checked bag for frozen food & we easily hit the 50 lbs max every time. My haul always includes PnJ Ilocano Longganisa and Tocino! Not much ambience to the factory located in the heart of KBay, across Windward Mall. It's so close to Adela's, easy to kill two birds with one stone. [PROTIP] If you don't wanna deal with a hardsided cooler and dry ice, deep freeze your goods for at least 72 hours before travel. Pack them in insulated cooler bags (as required by the airline to avoid condensation), and then place into a corrugated cardboard box before placing in your checked bag. We never have any probs running it through Agriculture. Remember to declare the frozen meat when dropping off to bag check, and be on your way. S/O Aunty Josie for my special order pickup from their home in the Westside where we stay by, to avoid traffic trekking Windward to the PnJ Sausage Factory in Kaneohe. Agyamanak!”

“I am moved by Kukui's sausages. The King Kong hotdog is the way to go. Smothered in cabbage, currywurst sauce, cheese, and a gigantic Portuguese sausage, this dog was nothing short of satisfying and substantial. I'm not gonna lie, I might've gotten emotional over how juicy and flavorful the wiener was. Took some good bites; I have a pretty big mouth but it was difficult for me to not get sauce all over my face. The tangy kimchi sausage was not my favorite and I realize now that pairing it with the salsa on top might've been sour overload. But still a unique and tasty sausage for those who want to try something different. You can find this place at the KCC Farmer's Market every Saturday morning. :) There's a long line but it moves fast and you will be gobbling down that sausage in no time!”

“First off: it's on the second floor at SALT, so despite having walked around many times, I'd never noticed this and had to find it in Yelp then search it out. There are 4 stools at a counter looking down on the plaza below. The drink selection is limited; some fresh lemonade would be nice, and pretty easy to add. The onion burger starts with onions in the grill, then the burger meat smashed onto them. It’s a patty melt—they then melt cheese onto it. It was pretty much medium-well, I guess the only option given the way they cook it, which was fine, but you won’t be asked how you want it cooked.Food was ready in about 5 minutes, so it's quick. There are tables down below that are usually pretty full, but people come and go pretty quickly. There’s mostly metered parking in the neighborhood.”

“I wanted to go there because it was previously featured on BS12's ``Hawaii ni Koishite''. It's a bit inconvenient as it's far from Waikiki, but you can get there by bus.The inside also doubles as a general store and has a very cute atmosphere.I came here for lunch and ordered a sandwich and small soup combo. For the sandwich, I chose the honey glazed ham and germ bread named after the shop. It was so delicious that I would definitely use it again!I think the soup is probably made with the stringy parts of the meat that come out of the ham processing, but it's simmered until the fibers become soft, and it's tomato-based and filled with macaroni and beans. I was super satisfied! !They took care to take it home and packed it in a small cardboard box. Please bring your own eco bag. We ate on the hotel's lanai. It turned out to be a very luxurious lunch ?”

“Long time mainstay in Kalihi, moved from there original location behind where American Savings Bank now resides. Great for last minute grab n go's, BBQ meats(kinda pricey) sometimes poke, order ahead party platters(Godsend).”

“First time coming to this place, it's located in Kalihi in a small little shopping center area on a busy street. Parking isn't too hard to find but the parking lot can be pretty busy. My mom recommended for me to go to North Star to try their Chicharon and they didn't disappoint at all! The skin was so perfectly crispy and the meat was so juicy. I never forget to get small side cups of vinegar, they pair perfectly together, They offer plate lunches as well but the chicharon is the star of the show in my opinion! The aunties that work there are so friendly and nice. A good spot in town to pick up Chicharon!”

“How does this place not have more reviews? It's awesome. Just walk up and order roast meats, the nice lady will chop it up, and send you on your way with a carton of warm love. ★★★★★★”

“Our whole family loves Jess. We’ve been loyal customers for the past 3 years. She provides the highest quality local meats. Her prices are comparable to what you’d get at Whole Foods but way better quality. Plus you’re supporting local. One tip: preorder online & pick up at the farmers market or at her shop off Dillingham Blvd. (just be prepared for construction happening in that area) otherwise you can always buy at the shop/market but some cuts sell out fast.We are grateful for Forage! Thank you for what you do for our community!”

“it can be a bit unfair for these high quality sushi guys to do poke since poke is more of a choice from fish markets + food markets. BUT, there is no denying their poke is one of the best on the islands because they are sushi guys with high standards. the ume + shiso is out of this world!”

“Higa Meats provides good quality meats and cuts that are to the customers' liking. Poultry, beef, or pork, whatever the selection, the price is reasonable. Staff service is good. They're welcoming, friendly, and helpful in getting your meats sorted out. Inside looks to be like an office, but they have the freezer and equipment in the back. Everything looked organized and tidy. Payment Cash or credit Parking Private lot”

“Purchased a boneless prime rib at less than half the price for bone in at Costco or Sam's. Meat was tender, juicy with a small amount of fat.Richard's Meat Market is my new #1.”

“Our favorite market in China town because it's everything we need in one place: meat, fish, produce, and some groceries. I think there's honestly fresher fish across the street and cheaper produce around the corner, but it's great coming here for the poke bowls and getting all our shopping done in one place.”

“Not only do they supply Chum Churum here on the island, (Best. Soju. EVER.) they have amazing beef chips! So light and airy, but soooooo addicting. You can't stop at one! I saw them popping up at some foodland locations and I got so excited! They even make dog friendly jerky so my pups can enjoy them as well. So happy we have a good local rep to import the soju on island. Without them, Chum Churum wouldn't be available anywhere here.”

“This Whole sell place located right on Waikamilo in the heart of Kalihi, they are the place to get you meats and seafood. All their Ahi is caught here locally and cut daily. They also have a variety of Meats to choose from, so if you are a back yard cook or a pro chef... check them out for pricing. They sell whole sale and retail, walk ins welcome and they do take EBT. Best to call ahead or just go in and talk to the ladies in the office to the left hand side when you go in.”

“I have been to Hawaii 6times this place the best poke I have ever had. It is so fresh you will understand why it's called Eskimo candy. I loved tuna with Ogo (crunch seaweed)”
