This is a locals steakhouse and priced like one. Don't expect fancy tourist atmosphere or prices. I am a steak snob and their beef is top quality. Their vegetables options are minimal and the salad is nothing to brag about. Wine list was okay with old world and new world wines. Service was top notch. This is a meat & potato restaurant. I would go here again.Vegetarian options: This is a meat and potato restaurant. Vegetarian options are minimal.

The food here was overpriced and awful. Everything was under seasoned (including the “free” bread), the fish tasted off, and the sauce was broken. The prime rib was okay at best. Spent a lot of money for a mediocre experience. The atmosphere is outdated and reminded us of an Italian restaurant from the late 90s/early 2000s. You can tell the servers don’t even like the food and avoided asking us how our meal was. Don’t eat here!

The food was gross. The bread they brought out for the table looked like the bread you might find at a free cheap motel buffet. I got rack of lamb, my friend got a steak. My friend said the steak had a weird sweet taste that didn’t go with itMy rack of lambs were horrible. It was cooked super unevenly and came with a mint sauce that I can only describe as melted toothpaste. The color was disgusting slime green. That sauce ruined the rest of the plate I couldn’t even eat any of the accompanimentsThe restaurant interior also feels cheap/run downThey had a live singer and a hula girl. I guess that’s a plus but it was a bit too loudCould barely here myself talk

First the hostess needs to loose the face piercings for customer service (nose and lip piercing)Second we asked about gluten free options (she said they didn’t have any gluten free)Third the a party of 6 came in while we were waiting and asked if they could sit at the bar and have drinks while waiting to be seated (her response was I don’t think so the bartender might be busy) there was 8 open chairs and no one at the bar.Dietary restrictions: Don’t ask receptionist she was clueless

Location was fantastic - right on the water. In fact, looking out the window it looked like we were sitting above the water. Decor was a little outdated but had a quaint island charm. Food was okay - very basic plating, no visual wow factor, but the steaks were cooked perfectly. I ordered an appetizer as my entree but curiously my food came out much later than the other meals ordered - they were almost done before I got mine. But the staff was hard working and friendly. Our server was constantly moving and checking on tables, and we had water refills promptly without having to ask for it. We got there at 5, right before it started getting busy, and were seated immediately. Considering the average price of meals on the island, I'd say it was a good value - the NY strip was large enough to take home for a second meal. If you are looking for a no frills, homey environment I'd recommend it. I took a star off because my meal came so late and the cocktails were a bit over priced, but we'd come back to try it again. Nice plus was the ample parking.

We were very disappointed with the food. The "free" artichoke dip with purchase of 2 expensive entrees didn't have much flavor. The bread served was bland. The menu for a steak house was limited. We ordered New York Strip, one medium and one medium rare. The order was crossed so the blue cheese was on the wrong steak. They did quickly offer to correct it, but it wasn't an issue for either of us. The real issue was the steaks. They were correctly prepared, but very tough. Neither of us finished our steak. The lack of a vegetable or salad with the meal was also disappointing. This is an older restaurant that offers expensive food of marginal quality. The building is in need of upkeep and repairs. Our service was friendly and the view was great.

Very nice ocean view but portion sized were small and expensive. Got the fish special and it came out within 5 minutes so you know it's not made fresh. Baked fish takes longer than 5 minutes.

Hit the Happy Hour and were only going to have drinks but it smelled so good we had dinner too. I really enjoyed it and although I gave only 4 stars for atmosphere it kinda reminded me of a place where I grew up, The Black Sands. We got to go a couple times when I was a kid and was reminiscent of the Rat Pack. It was elegant but mod. Waitstaff were well versed in food and drink recommendations and dressed to the 9’s. The Bull Shed in its heyday could easily have been that cool cat hangout. Ocean views and a kitschy cool interior style, yeah. No one in a hurry and everyone leaving with a smile from being treated well.Go. Enjoy yourself. MahaloP. S. No pick this time kids, there are some things that are better as a fond memory, baggage of the mind.

Not sure why this place has only 3.5 stars; location, food and service are great. Central location and easy walk if you're staying in Wailua. Potato skin appetizer was fresh and delicious. I ordered chicken and shrimp as a main. Teriyaki flavor on the chicken was perfect, shrimp was cooked just right and slid right off the skewer. Husband ordered bone-in prime rib. He raved about the size and quality of meat. We were stuffed but ordered Kauai pie to-go. Service was fast, attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend coming here for dinner. Depending on the night there may be live music, guitar and singing.

We had heard good things about the restaurant so we decided to try it. We were able to take advantage of happy hour. Our pina coladas were enjoyable. I ordered a side salad and the lettuce and veggies were very fresh. The ranch dressing was bland. I ordered the lobster tail and it was slightly undercooked and not very flavorful. My husband ordered the filet with peppercorn sauce. He said it was flavorful and cooked to the appropriate temperature. Our expectations were higher than what we experienced. The view is magnificent but the interior of the restaurant needs to be "refreshed". Our server was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. We are glad we tried this place, but we probably won't go back.

We heard about this place from a couple sharing a hot tub with us and they couldn't have been more correct. The restaurant is way bigger than appears from the outside. We were sat off in the back and had the sound of crashing waves throughout our meal. We ordered the bone out prime rib and the shrimp scampi and the prime rib is a locally sourced grass fed and finished beef smoked with Kiawe wood. I pride myself on smoking some legit meats here and use competition blends but this Kiawe wood coupled with the local grasses provided for an exquisitely tasting prime rib. Even the fat had a very desirable flavor profile. Additionally, the prime rib was HUGE, we both ate and we left with a huge slab of prime rib. The sauce that BullShed creates for the Shrimp Scampi was "lick-the-plate clean" delicious. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the pasta was perfectly al dente. We knew we were in for a legit culinary experience based solely on the bread they brought out to us. It was delicious!!! We started with the artichoke dip and it showcased the vibrancy of the artichoke. Additionally, the baked potatoes were also quite noteworthy. Trust me, you want to treat yourself to a meal here.

We had a wonderful table looking out over the ocean surf. Live music was authentic island talent, and many locals were among the clientele. The service was terrific, with frequent attention and great suggestions. We had the bone in prime rib, cooked perfectly, and a kebab medley also cooked just right to order. The chairs are wide and strong, making it feel comfy without stuffy elegance. Couldn't have been a more friendly and pleasant evening. Great spot, would return as often as possible.
