Really nice Gentleman that makes the pottery. The images are not painted on, they’re layers of coloured clay. The amount of work to create the pieces is crazy. The mugs are Triple the price of other handmade mugs of same quality but are worth it. The workshop Cat, Cleo is a sweetheart.

Just took a trip to LightWave Pottery and enjoyed it very much. Artists, Melody and Dean were at the studio and kindly gave me a tour of the workshop. Photo of the “green” kiln that works on used French-fry oil instead of propane.

Amazing art pieces. Vibrant colors. Excellent interaction with the artist, Renee. Renee showed us the process to create the slabs, and it was impressive.
***WE HAVE MOVED - SEE WEBSITE FOR MORE INFO*** Dean McRaine has said that LightWave Pottery is about the magic of creation and the alchemy of ceramics. His work is inspired by the beautiful tropical environment of Kauai, Hawaii and his studio is located in downtown Kapaa. His goal as an artist is to create work that is beautiful and uplifting, bringing joy to those who see it. Dean has been making pottery and developing glazes for over 35 years. For the past 15+ years, his major interest has been the vivid colors and rich patterns that can be made using colored clay. All pottery is handmade in his studio, and is high fired porcelain (fired in a kiln fueled by waste vegetable oil). All functional ware is food-safe & microwave safe.
