Zac was so accommodating and kind. We enjoyed talking story with him and seeing his thriving worm bins. He gave us some medium along with the worms. I couldn’t be happier to restart my worm journey.

I've made my way back to gardening & vermiposting, so it was time to pick up some worms. Ewa Blue Worms is actually located in Makakilo, but only about 10 minutes from Ewa Beach. My worms are local! It was easy enough to call Zachary to set up a time to pick up worms. He sells them out of his home/worm ranch, and we got a fun little tour of his operations. He has an amazing garden and it looked like tons of worm production. He had already pulled out a batch of worms for me, but poured them out to show me before bundling them up. They were very lively and so plentiful. He explained that he sells only blue worms and they're the faster eaters (as opposed to red worms), and that I wouldn't need to wait to feed the worms--in the past, the worms needed to acclimate for a few days before feeding. Zachary is very knowledgeable, and he also sells vermicast by the pound, if worm farming isn't your cup of (worm) tea. In my opinion, his prices are quite reasonable.

Every time I saw my food waste I want to try composting it but had never had any experience. I finally decided to try it out and found Zac's place. I'm a complete beginner but he gave me lots of tips and information I should know. Super helpful! It's been less than a week but the worms seem to be doing alright in my 5 gal bucket. He let me know the bunch he gave me contained a bunch of other bugs/mold/bacteria that aid in composting and boy there were lots of bugs I wasn't expecting.

Bought 1/4 lb of worms from Zac almost 3 months ago. He told us they would multiply in 2-3 months and indeed they did! Zac took the time to explain how to care for the worms and offered to give him a call in case we had any other questions. The worms are super happy in their environment and continue to lay eggs on a daily basis. We have more black gold than our small garden can handle. But that’s a good problem to have! In fact, I might need to start a new bin soon. We are so happy with the results. If you’re on the fence about starting a worm bin, go to Zac and start one today. It’s great for the environment and these little workers work 24/7 turning your “trash” into the best nutrient rich soil for your plants.

This is a small business located in lower Makakilo. Mr. Zac was super knowledgeable, friendly and a helpful. If you plan to purchase worms, bring cash as he does not currently accept card.

My boyfriend picked up worms for our worm bin 360. $10 per oz of "worm weight", which includes worms, dirt, some compost, and even some worm cocoons if you're lucky! He shares that you don't necessarily need a pound if worms to start a bin. From what my bf shared with me, Zac sounds very knowledgeable of composting and worms. He also sells rabbits and feeds his worms their droppings. The circle of life! Just started my worm bin and hope to use the compost as fertilizer in a few months.
