I went in on a Friday afternoon and sat down straightaway with Kari for a replacement debit card and we ended up taking care of several things. I changed my mailing & residential addresses, got 4 free checks in the event I need one for a direct deposit, or oddly enough, would need to write one, and a printed copy of my account credentials to establish my residential address aiding me to determine my residency, as to satisfy the requirements for obtaining a driver license. Horrible service. We gave them a full year - chance after chance. It started on the very first month with never receiving a debit card purchase refund that a merchant processed (and we had a receipt for). It never showed back up in our account, and after several back and forths, I finally gave up on ever seeing my $34 again. I should have quit then. Over the next year, there were so many things - from poor to slow customer service, and they never did get my mailing address updated, despite going in person and filling out a form (which they required me to do in person instead of filling out a form online). The final straw was they withdrew $5 from my savings account after a year of "inactivity" (despite me using my associated checking account almost daily). They did this without warning or notice. Just took my money. That was enough. Closed the account today - no apologies, and no trying to keep me as a member. Pathetic excuse for a credit union.

New account, keep getting locked out. Said go to home page push help button. Well no help button on my phone. Hold your money for 16 days but don’t tell you so your checks bounce. Make first to transitions they lock account for possible fraud

Horrible service. Expect long wait times at a screen teller with zero customers in the building. There will be several employees and no customers and they will take over 20 minutes for a simple deposit that should take minutes at most. This is solely at this location I'm reviewing. The other locations are wonderful and speedy. Not sure why but it's every. single. time. Not an isolated incident. I've been to this location atleast ten times, probably more and every single time it is the absolute worst. The management should be reevaluated because it's ridiculous how long the smallest, simplest task takes to complete. They also have given me misinformation where even the lady at the desk was like, "um no she's wrong about that." They have no idea what they are doing there and should honestly just go work at McDonalds. Avoid this place at all cost. The only reason I've returned is because their ATM by Keaau ACE has been broken for well over a year. It's the only other option to avoid going to Hilo.

Convenient location if you live in Puna and drive to Hilo. I use the atm and sometimes I go through drive through. Never had to wait that long, always get quick friendly service. I don’t know why other reviewers have a problem- maybe during peak hours there’s a line. I don’t know.

Drive thru banking - 25 minutes and counting... - unbelievable.45 minutes. That's how long it took to make a deposit and a withdrawal. 45 minutes.

Open new account really slow in there for over an hour maybe hour and a half hour just to open a new account. It has to be quicker than that!

Avoid this credit union. We tried pulling money out of our 2 year olds bank account because we are transferring banks and apparently due to “inactivity” they were taking funds out of her account. Not sure why you would penalize a 2 year old for account inactivity. They claimed they sent us letter but we did not receive it. We had a couple of hundred dollars in our daughters account and they only had about $40 left. Really what’s the point of saving money if they are just going to steal it from you much less a 2 year old.

One of the worst in Hilo... sometimes I wonder how they are still in business. They offer deals all the time to keep from closing. Their loan department if thats what anyone beaides them would call it. Has 0 knowledge and will waste you time and cost you time and money only to not be able to help you. There are some good workers there. But we asked to rate the bank and not all its employees. Would give the bank 0 stars if possible.
