I went in for a trim, and I left with an experience. I’m nervous about writing this review because you, the reader, might read it and, too, decide to see what this place is all about. It’s genuinely just a hole-in-the-wall shop where uncertainty abounds if you just glance at it. I would not have even found it had I not needed to park in the back to get my mail from the local mail and ship. I only needed a quick trim, and it wasn’t apparent that they accepted walk-ins. I gave it a try. When I first entered, I couldn’t tell you who was in charge of scheduling or making decisions. Nails to the left, hair styling to the right. It looks more like a shop for the elderly community to get their salon needs handled. By no means is this salon pretentious. This was more of an accident because I had time and desperately needed a trim. Mind you, the desperation is because I despise/dread/fear getting my haircut because communication can be a barrier, and people love to cut a lot more when they know there is a language problem. It was now or never for me, so I rolled up my sleeves and walked to the door.I went in, and a woman from the nails side came out. I explained I needed a trim, and she pointed me where to sit. Mature ladies were getting manicures and pedicures, an older person was getting her hair colored and styled, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if I would leave the building with a pixie cut, a flipped bob, or Betty bangs. I could not complain as it looked like walk-ins were accepted. YAY! Not even five minutes into my waiting period, an elderly woman came in, obviously upset I was sitting in the haircut section because she had an appointment and was not going to stand for someone taking her time slot. She NEEDED her hair colored and cut! She was showing her roots to me, the nail lady, and anyone in the area who would listen and empathize. The nails lady came over in an attempt to calm her down. An elegant woman mysteriously appeared from somewhere in the back, consoled her, and after a side “stink-eye” from the customer, she happily went to the nails side for a pedicure. They took excellent care of her.Ms. Elegance then came to me, had me stand up, and began assessing my hair. She walked me to the shampoo table after it was determined just a trim, no color, no blow-dry, just a trim. She began washing my hair with cool water, not the scalding hot stuff most salons use. It was refreshing. Oh, and you know the old shampoo labels, “Lather, rinse, repeat?” Yeah, she lathered at least three times, but it was this luxurious fingernail (light) scratching, neck massaging, scalp massaging ecstasy. I’d go back just for a shampoo! She started cutting my hair, but I was beginning to wonder if this Jennifer was, in fact, the owner. She spent time on her phone (earbuds), helping the stylist next to her, taking care of the nail lady who had questions, you name it, she was doing it…all whilst cutting my hair with ease. She did a little blow-dry, which was funny because she did not understand I was walking home in the rain, so there was no need for a blow-dry, but oh my goodness, the fingers running through the hair stopped me from uttering a word!If you have made it this far, I implore you to run to this salon. The reason I saw so many tutu wahines is not because this is an antiquated salon….no, it is because these ladies are beyond wise. They KNOW where to go and have been coming here for years. I hope to become one of these wise women and come here just as often. I LOOK GOOD!!!!Mahalo nui loa for such a blissful experience!

Very upset, went in for pedi and nails.I had and appointment at 930am. I took a picture of what I wanted. Initially First Lady said no problem. Then she switched to another customer. To get to point: I had 5 ladies work on my feet. All said they were fixing what the lady did wrong. Somehow they cut when I asked not to, and left them crooked. I had to walk out after 2 hours.

I gave 1 star because I have been here twice and both times the lady doing my nails didn't ask me how short I wanted her to cut my nails she just cuts mine without asking and to the lowest point you could cut them at all while my eyes are shut enjoying the message chair. I have beautiful long nails and can not stand having them this short it's killing me. If you go in for nails make sure to tell your lady how short you want your nails and how you want them cut before doing anything. Otherwise this is a great place.Services: Pedicure

If I could give this salon 10 stars I would! The entire staff was friendly and kind and when I called they got me in at the last minute for a pedicure and bang trim. The woman who gave me a pedicure gave me the best pedicure I've ever had, and I've had a lot of them! The prices are reasonable, I had an excellent staff experience and everything was lovely from start to finish! Thank you so much to everyone at Jen's Salon and Spa! So glad I found you.

Make upI did make up with Jen a few month ago and spent over $ 300 for unprofessional services. And I put on my own make up at the end . I have told her I am severely sensitive about the lash glue and I could only do the temporary lash but she still put the cluster lash on me and told me they are easy to remove. Not only my eyes were infected and swollen like peaches but I also had to go eye doctor to remove the glue stuck in my eyes. I did not get any apologies nor refund after that. I do not recommend this place.

Not only do my feet look and feel so much better, the attention to detail was amazing! Usually it's a fast process and I feel rushed- not here lyluuly took her time and did an amazing job! Highly recommendedServices: Manicures

Another customer and myself started at same time for pedicure. My helper did half the services of what was done to the other person. Didn't bother to massage each toe and other works like it was done for the other person. Nail polish was not flowing properly. Inspite of repeated requests to shake the bottle, the helper ignored me. Polish came out blotchy. They refused to let my nails dry inside the little heating device. First they said they don't have it ( it was right in front of me) then said it was used only for gel polish. This device is used even before gel polish invention. The helper was very rude with body language, not answering simple questions. Rude facial expressions and would rudly pull my hands to go back and front to work on right and left hands. I did tip more than 16%.While doing pedicure I have to constantly request the crusts on toe nails be removed. I showed the thumb nail to owner, she started pushing polish into my nail using her own nail. I said that I don't need that touching. Does this work l look like I had been to a salon just now? Is it some kind of discrimination because of my skin color? This spa now is called Helen's Spa and Salon. This is not the first time I have been ripped off for services and treated rudly.Services: Manicures
