I use to live down the street in Kainaliu. I loved Kimura store. Their selection of tropical-themed fabric was incredible. I now live on the mainland and could not find anywhere that even came close to how excellent their fabrics are!

Quaint family store with super friendly staff. The store will be a 100 years old in 2026.It is filled with a wide variety of fabrics. They have an especially cute selection of Japanese prints. I purchase a mini Hawaiian quilt kit, and pattern/fabric to make a muumuu. All was reasonably priced.I was surprised that they carry shiseido skincare products.Street parking may be tough, but there are free public lots a couple of stores down.

When you go to this fabric store and you think you may be buying too much fabric but believe me once you get back to the mainland or to any of the other islands you'll wish you would've bought more. Some of the most beautiful Hawaiian and Asian fabrics that I've ever seen And at reasonable prices. I'm considering making a trip to the big island just to go here again.

Saw an advertisement for this sweet shop on the Hawaii channel in our hotel and decided to add it to our itinerary on our recent trip to the big island-I am so glad we did! Wonderful selection of beautiful fabrics! Bought several fat quarters for a quilt and wish I had bought more. Can’t wait to come back!

If you love Japanese fabrics and are near South Kona this is a must-stop. Incredible selection at very reasonable prices. The sales person was very reserved at first but when I explained that I was buying fabric to make baby quilts, she visibly softened. I only wish I had brought a bigger suitcase.

There is a very small and cute town in the Kona area. H. Kimura is in Kearakekua. I have a special project and H. Kimura Store was a great help choosing the materials. I visit fabric shops, but each shop has its unique character of collections. You cannot decide easily, they have a wonderful selection! I highly recommend stopping by if you are looking for some fabrics.

Wow! Thank you Kimura family for almost 100 years serving your local Community, I hope you last another 100 years. I can't believe how lucky we were to find this legit local gem for fabrics. Always a few locals milling about. We found amazing printed fabrics & everyone was very helpful & kind.

The cutest retro shop with an array of patterns to choose from. They're legit since their business card is an adorable mini sewing kit. I spent a pretty penny here because I couldn't resist so many unique fabrics. The doors were locked due to COVID and I had to knock loudly to signal the staff. There isn't any air conditioning inside so be warned if you are expecting a blast of cold air when you're let in, although there is a fan by the register. The worker was knowledgeable and helpful with my questions about the kinds of patterns I was looking for. There are also adorable family photos that you can see which made it feel especially homey. Hands down my favorite spot along this little shopping street.

Good place to go if you don’t need a large selection. A little pricey but convenient if you live south of Kailua-Kona and west of Volcano. Very nice women running the place.
