ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!!I am a senior in high and I had an upcoming senior ball that I needed a suit for. Ellys seemed like a great place to get my suit for my first prom-like event ever, and they were at first, but they completely ruined my senior ball.1) They mixed up my PAPERWORK with the juniors from my school since they had a prom the upcoming weekend, and gave me my suit too early.2) After noticing that I got it too early I called and let them know I got it at the wrong time, and they said to return it the next day, along with the fact that they'll STILL HAVE IT BY MY SENIOR BALL.3) No problem, right? I go to pick it up the day before my senior ball and they RETURNED my custom suit.4) Not to mention, Ellys called me two days prior of the correct pick-up date saying I didn't return my suit after the mix-up. I was confused, and said that I very much did. I THEN asked, "Why, is everything okay?" and was met with a false, "Yep! Buh bye!"5) Come to find out, they KNEW they didn't have my suit the whole time. They returned it on purpose because THEY mixed up the paperwork and if they kept the suit, they would've been charged extra from whoever they were getting it from.6) They NOT ONLY MIXED UP my PAPER WORK, GAVE me my suit TOO EARLY, AND didn't follow their OWN directions, but they returned my CUSTOM suit. I was livid that there was no remorse, communication, or compensation for their mess-up, and I had no other choice but to choose from whatever they had on hand.* I spent time and money planning all of my accessories around my custom suit and they couldn't even let me know that they returned my suit. I see it as they wanted me to spend money only there, regardless if I got what I paid for or not.* Initially, they only refunded me the difference and had zero remorse. After my mom came in and said what she had to, then and ONLY THEN did they offer the full refund. * They were about to let me walk out with a suit that I didn't pay or ask for, a refunded DIFFERENCE, and a, "Sorry!"After all of this mess, they gave me a few backup suits so I could decide what I wanted to wear the day of since they messed up. They also were trying to adjust suits to my size and whatnot, but I was over it and just wanted anything to wear at that point.Unprofessional, messy, and untrustworthy business. ZERO STARS.

Expensive and unreliable-Rented a basic tux for a black tie event on Maui (2 piece tux, white dress shirt, tie, and shoes). The good part: The process to set up the appointment for fitting and the fitting process was smooth. The staff was helpful and friendly. My event was on a Sunday and they said come by on Saturday to pick up your tux and then return it on Monday. So - I show up on Saturday afternoon - and no tux to be found for me…and no record there of my tux. Fortunately I had my receipt. The woman in the shop calls the person who did the fitting and finally they offer to bring the tux to my house on Sunday afternoon or meet me at the venue and I can change there! No confidence that will happen! So they agree to bring the tux to my house Sunday before noon. Meanwhile I’m panicking that I will not be able to go!They show up - maybe an hour late and the pants are hemmed different lengths for each leg and both are short…..made it work but a lot of stress and angst. For 275$ I could have almost bought the same stuff. Definitely not going to repeat this!

I'd give no stars if I could. I don't know if it's a local thing or what. seems as though people that look Pacific Islander we're treated better. We waited an hour for a employee to arrive. we explained more then once we wanted our sons hem at proper length. The sales associate explained the popular look was a high hem above ankle. My son replied No, I don't like that look. My husband and I also explained we didn't want that. While getting ready for prom. We noticed the shirt given smelled and had sweat stains still. Also hemming was extremely above ankle. My son had to pull pants down Past the crack of his butt. And still they were to short. When discussing the issues with sales rep.upon return Of tux. She had no sympathy, no solution on how to make the issue better. No money return, no discount on next rental. Not even an apology for ruining my sons big night. Save yourself the headache, time, and money.

Its really unfortunate. I never give reviews but I just feel frustrated that i wasn't told that dresses were only for purchase. So originally I wanted to rent a tuxedo but changed my mind during the appointment to get a dress instead under the impression it can be rented out too since I never got a dress before from a nice place like this. As I tried on a dress that I liked the lady that helped me out started to put chalk because the dress was a little too low for me. At check out I was a little surprised with the price after the altercations i wanted. After being given the receipt and leaving I thought to myself why is it so expensive. So I called back to confirm if i was renting or purchasing. I also read the \"contract\" (that I didn't sign) that I could cancel the order before 24 hours because I didn't want to keep the dress. Turns out it was for purchase. But over and over I was told I couldn't cancel because the \"chalk\" they use to alter the dress can't be removed (but google says other wise, but hey what do i know) which i thought was weird so I couldn't get a cancelation refund. I was told that I should've asked questions. And maybe I should've, but there was no where on the website or told from staff that dresses were only for purchase. It would've been nice to be told that the chalk wouldnt come off. And it in the end it only became my fault that I'm stuck keeping a very expensive dress that I only wanted to wear once to my brothers wedding. It really sucks. But i guess i need to better on my part to ask questions ?

This bridal place don’t deserve a star at all. Not only are they unprofessional but they lack communication skills. With bridal shop on Maui being limited, we have no choice but to stick with this. Never again.

Late review for a rental I did back in November '21. Holy moly, Elly's was a life saver for my husband and me when we arrived in Maui for a wedding being held the next day and realized it was a black tie event! (Would have helped to actually read the whole invitation). We called and texted the shop before they opened and Terri got back to us immediately. Not only did she have a tux in my husband's size available to rent that day--she also had several formal floor length gowns in stock for me to try on. She quickly took down sizing over the phone and pulled several options that were ready when we arrived. I can't say 'thank you' enough for saving us that day and making sure we were wedding ready. Huge shout out to Terri and all the folks at Elly's.

I recently got married on Maui and we used Elly's formal wear for the guys suits and my dress pressing. The dress pressing was fine that is the only reason for the two starts. The guys suits on the other hand was an entire disaster. We showed up for a fitting appointment and my husband, father, and a groomsmen, came out of the fitting room with pants up to their shins. The woman helping us reassured me that the pants they all tried on was for waist fit only and she proceeded to measure all of them for length...should have been my first red flag. The day of the wedding the guys went to go get ready and two of the groomsmen could not get the pants up past their knees. My father in laws pants were way too long and two groomsmen had floods on. All 8 guys had to pass around and swap pants 2 hours before our ceremony and my husband had to remove the hem from three pairs of pants to make them longer. We ended up making it work but not ideal for my wedding. When we went to return my husband informed them of the situation and that 2 hours before our ceremony we almost didn't have pants to wear and the lady looked at him kind of shrugged her shoulders and said \"sorry, things happen.\" I get it is prom season and this is the only formal wear shop on the island but that's not an excuse to provide terrible service. Moral of the story either rent and travel with your suit or make sure you try on the suits prior to two hours before your ceremony to avoid this disaster!

I was planning on waiting until I had my dress in hand to review Elly's so that I could talk about the whole experience, but they did such an amazing job that I feel badly not leaving a review right away. My family and fiancé were in Maui from the week visiting from the mainland, and my mom suggested looking for wedding dresses while we were around. I was hesitant, but discovered that Elly's was having a trunk show for Stella York the following day, so my mom and my sister and I decided to stop in and see. It was my first time looking for dresses, and I still had no idea what I wanted, so I wasn't feeling particularly confident that I'd find "the one" that day. Terri was available to help us immediately when we came in (because of the trunk show, they weren't requiring appointments for the day). She took my vague and very open ideas on what I was looking for (I was anything but helpful with my "I just don't want a ballgown", "I like vintage, but also a bit modern?" and "maybe traditional/non-traditional?"), and absolutely nailed it. She selected five dresses for me, and every single one of them was gorgeous. The first and third both made me feel like they could be the perfect dress for me. I went in without much confidence that I'd find the right dress, but Terri selected the perfect one instantly. I ended up getting the first one I tried on. Terri and the other consultant in the shop were both kind and wonderful the entire time we were there. They knew the right questions to ask, and were always attentive despite juggling multiple parties at a time. They even gave me a little goodie box after purchasing the dress in congratulations! It was such a wonderful, stress free experience, and I can't recommend this shop enough.

We've previously been here for our high school prom that we came back for our special day. My other half and I scheduled a dual consultation as we're very non-traditional. I was worried about it being stressful, but Wendy and Sam were so aloha-spirited. Their customer service blew me away and they made it a very easy going experience full of laughter. The entire appointment was about an hour for the both of us combined, as the process had a smooth easy flow to it. I got to buy my dream dress and they provided the entire suit for my other half as well. These ladies definitely deserve a raise because, it felt like Ohana the entire time. Thank you Elly’s Ohana for making our day extra special. Mahalo Nui Loa ladies!
