What a magical place. We loved every minute of our get away and if visiting Kauai, you could not ask for a better home away from home. It was easy to book, communication between owners was easy and quick and the cottage is well stocked. We cannot wait to go back! Mahola for sharing your piece of paradise. Until we meet again, aloha.

just returned from our stay at Hale Kokio and wish we were still there. The property is beautiful, quite (besides the rooster but if you have been to Kauai you know) and private. The house is just as you see in pics... perfect! Super comfy bed, Wifi if you need it, everything is in great shape, all the little touches you need and best of all a Hot tub for after all those hikes or surfing.Eleanor was great and very responsive with set up of our reservation and follow up on our deposit return.Rob is your on island contact and he was Fantastic! Answered any and all questions quickly and came over to help us with the hot tub even turning on the outside lights and preheating it while we were away. Seriously we do a lot of VRBO/AirBnB around the world and this overall was one of the best experiences we’ve had. Highly recommend to anyone or couple headed to Kauai and we will certainly be back again. Thanks again Rob and Eleanor

Cute place, but not very clean. We stayed 11 nights and were provided 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 garbage bag, no coffee, not enough dish soap. Cockroaches live UNDER THE BATHTUB, it is not sealed off. The shower curtain liner had brown mildew spots. On Sunday morning at 9am the groundskeeper showed up in the yard with no forewarning, we were hoping for more privacy.

WOW!! How to even begin to explain how wonderful this place is! This cottage is ideally located for really seeing anything on Kauai. It is a very short drive to all the wonderful things to see and do on the north and east sides of the island. But even a drive to other parts of the island would just make for a nice day trip. But back to the cottage itself....it is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed! We cooked dinners most every night at the cottage either in the well stocked kitchen or on the Weber gas grill outside. We even managed to use the slow cooker one day. :) Every detail has been thought of here....from the wonderful bedding to the soft towels to the easy opening/closing windows all with screens intact. The grounds are truly a sight to see! Every day we enjoyed listening to the variety of birds and other animals. The beautiful fruit trees all around, and a nice hammock to enjoy it all. We also made good use of the hot tub after our hiking and snorkeling endeavors. I would highly recommend this place for your stay! It was just the perfect size for the 2 of us. Enjoy the magical fairy lights on the deck at night. I'm ready to go back already!! Thanks for allowing us to experience true Hawaii!Charlotte, NCStayed March 8-16, 2019

We love Hale Kokio! My husband and I have stayed here 3 times over the last 2 years. Kauai is our favorite vacation spot, and we have stayed in condos in Poipu, a beach cottage in Anahola, a different cottage also in Kilauea, and Hale Kokio on trips past - and Hale Kokio is our hands down favorite. Rob and Lisa always check in with at some point in the trips to ensure we have everything we need, or to ask permission to come onto this part of the property to pick fruit or have the landscaper to do his thing. Eleanor also checks in by email to let us know updates in the area (pre-arrival) and to see how the stay was (post departure). They are very friendly but not intrusive at all.The cottage itself is stocked with a nice selection of cookware and gadgets, beach accessories (coolers, beach towels, boogie boards, chairs, etc.) and has multiple lounging areas (inside and out). We appreciate the option to be able to cook most of our meals in. The hot tub is a nice feature - we use it a fair amount. We also enjoy taking walks around the property, enjoying an avocado or grapefruit fresh from the tree, and taking in all the birds and cool landscaping the property has to offer. Basically, It’s a super cute place - perfect for relaxing with your favorite person! The location is pretty handy for us too. It isn’t far from our favorite snorkeling beach, Anini Beach. The commercial areas of Kilauea and Princeville are also just a short drive up the road. We also go all over the island every time we are there (literally from one end of the road to the other). Be prepared for traffic during rush-hour, and be patient with all of the other tourists trying to find their ways. When visiting Kauai, you do need bug spray, no matter where you stay. We always pick up a bottle at Our first grocery shopping excursion. You will also need some reef-safe sunscreen - even not being in the sun for long is enough to get some color (or a burn!).That’s all I have for now! This is the place we have stayed the most, and absolutely love it every time.

We spent 7 amazing nights at Hale Kokio and we could not have chosen a more beautiful spot. The home was perfect and comfortable and the grounds are gorgeous. Easy to get to, but tucked back from the street, with plenty of privacy, making it perfect for a romantic getaway. We enjoyed the hot tub every day and sampled the grapefruit from trees in the garden. The house was so peaceful we were tempted to just stay home and relax every day, and its location on the North Shore was perfect for day trips. We will definitely return to Hale Kokio. Mahalo!
