the staff is HORRIBLE. i was looking at their tshirts and the tan old lady with glasses came and asked why i was messing up all her shirts. I let her know i was looking at how big they were and she said i didn't need to do it to every single one. i looked at 2 and i had 2 in my hands to purchase! she was rude to me several more times before i decided to leave without anything. her response to me leaving was "yeah good, go". l've honestly never been treated that way in a business especially a tourist attraction like that. i have no idea how they sell anything (or if they even do) with that lady working there. will never return !

It’s alright for a gift shop. Lots of random stuff, some of which is related to Kauai, all at quite high prices. The workers are friendly.

Absolute horrible customer service. Rude and pushy. Now with two stores in Koloa why buy from them when there are SO many others who value and appreciate your business?

My wife and I have been visiting Kauai for many years. As a matter of fact, we have been back five times in the last six years. We always visit Koloa Town to shop and eat. We have been to the Emperor's Emporium store many times, both when it was in the older part of town and now in the newer shopping center, a block away. We are familiar with the woman that owns the store and have come to NOT expect good customer service from her and her employees. They can be pushy when it comes to jewelry and they will not make you feel welcomed or that your business is appreciated. I often walk out of the store, whether we bought something or not, with a feeling of condescension from the employees. Yes, the store has a large selection, but many of those items can be found elsewhere for less and you would most likely be treated with more respect, appreciation and the Aloha spirit. Having endured year after year of the same poor customer service, chances are, we won't be back to this store.

The staff is rude and unwelcoming. They made several comments to my kids about how they "expect them to pay", "hope you have money" and more when my little one picked a toy.Maybe it's because we are brown, seems like the woman at the store could have a thing against non-white people based on other reviews. It is really a terrible atmosphere for a gift and souvenir shop.

Cute little store. They have tons of t-shirts, swim wear, socks, ornaments, etc. Although the shopping experience was a little strange, I did find a lot of Souvenirs I love. The signs saying what was on sale were a bit difficult to interpret. The lady helping us wasn't very nice, reminded us she was closing in 10min, and made some jokes about how long we were taking. Then when we brought our stuff to the counter to pay, she thought I had switched a price tag (didn't believe the price until I went back and grabbed an identical shirt with the identical price).

Bought a t-shirt for $44 over holiday break. Got home, washed it in cold water with a color guard sheet and the design on back faded on the shirt. Will not buy from there next time I am there in March. January 2023.

I felt unwelcome in this store.The lady of the store was rude to me and my boyfriend. We live on the island, and were over the age of 18 and she asked for our ID's and would not allow us to shop in the store. Now im not sure if it was because of our race ( we are both asian) so we may appear younger. But the fact as soon as we just entered the store we got yelled at for the way we look. She said it was because something happened earlier but that was not us. Just felt like she could of taken care of the situation better.

If I could give no stars I would.!!! I bought three small items in the store adding up to 54.17. My credit card company alerted me that they charged it three times. I turned them over to fraud department . We tried to use cash . They insisted on the card. I should have suspected something. They were having a closing sale. I don’t want to think that they were trying to cheat unsuspecting tourists, but it sure seems suspicious. I hope they make it right.. if so I will change this review.

Looking for some souvenirs and wandering the town. Found a cute Hawaiian dress on sale, 30% off. Did not ring up correctly, and didn't realize until we got back to the condo. Went back the next day, only to be told "not my fault " and "I can't fix it" because the owner's were not there.Apparently the wrong price tag was on it. (not MY fault) Of course, couldn't return either... Really need someone with good customer service skills.

Good little shop to find a bunch of Kauai things - especially since most of the souvenir stands in the area are shut down due to covid. The shop lady has been on Kauai for 50 years, and happily shared her story with me. Gotta love supporting small business!
