TO TOP OFF THE EXPERIENCE THE OUTDOOR INDOOR SPA EXPERIENCE WAS PHENOMENAL.Rooms: WE HAD A THREE BEDROOM GOLF COTTAGE WITH KITCHEN FAMILY GREAT ROOM AND PORCHES. NO HOTEL PROPERTY CAN MATCH THIS, ESPECIALLY THE $$$.Nearby activities: GARDEN ISLAND IS AN ACCURATE HAWIIAN DESCRIPTION. YOU WANT THE DREAM IT IS HERE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES AND THE HIKES OR CATAMARAN TRIPS TO THE NAPILI COAST.Safety: PERFECTLY SAFE FOR FAMILIES WITH KIDS OF ALL AGES. NO THOUGHT OF TROUBLE HEREWalkability: WE WALKED EVERYWHERE, EVEN TO THE NEARBY SHOPPING CENTER THAT HAS AT LEAST SIX NAME RESTAURANTS A HEALTH FOOD OUTLET AND UPSCALE RETAIL STORES.Food & drinks: EXCELLENT CHEF PREPARED QUISEN AND PLENTY OF CRAFTED HAWAIIAN TROPICAL COCKTAILS.Noteworthy details: EVERY DAY WAS LIKE A SPRING DAY, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL NIGHTS IN THE 60’S DAYS IN 70’S & 80’S. Our favorite spot on Kauai. Great casual pool dining and evening dining at the clubhouse. Best golfing on Kauai. Relaxed elegance. This is our 10th year to enjoy this lovely property.

Picky, Picky: As an architect who has worked on luxury hotels and high-end homes, I am more critical than most guests. I must admit the folks who did the Lodge at Kukui’ula (Alexander & Brown and DMB Development) did a very, very good job. Lush Surroundings: The siting of the lodge is excellent, with beautiful sunset views over a terraced lawn and an axial view of the dramatic Spouting Horn blowhole. The pool and surrounding area are well designed to provide play areas for families and secluded areas for a couples. The grounds are lush with beautiful and surprisingly mature trees. The units are arranged to afford much privacy. The architecture respects the aesthetic of historic local plantations without devolving into caricature. Impressive Quality: Perhaps most impressive is the quality of the accommodations themselves. Typically, “luxurious” accommodations sadly reveal dozens of cheap short cuts that may escape some eyes, but not those of professionals. Not so at this property. All the materials, furnishings, appliances, fixtures, and fittings are very high quality. The bathrooms are fabulous, with excellent bathtubs and nice showers, including an outdoor "garden" shower. Very impressive! Unimpressive Breakfasts: Continental breakfast at the clubhouse is included, but it’s a bit on the meager side (not even any fruit juice). No Recycling: We dutifully segregated our recyclables, only to discover a notice at the dumpster informing guests that the Lodge at Kukui’ula has no recycling program and guests should take their trash to a recycling center a couple miles away. Huh? Unbelievable. Noisy Equipment: Some may argue that one should know that sleeping adjacent to a golf course means being awakened at 6:30 AM by groundskeepers; however, these days there are quiet, electric alternatives. Unfortunately, they are not used here. Guest Services: These folks were very attentive. Kyle made sure we were booked into a more secluded unit. Caleb received us graciously and followed up. Nyleen gets a shout out as she was very helpful throughout our stay.

Immaculate! Best Hyatt property to have stayed on. The staff, amenities and the residencies are top notch. Felt like home and was treated with respect and courtesy. Shout out to Kaleb who was fantastic!

We had an amazing stay! Highly recommend for couples and families. Right when we arrived, we both said we wish we were staying longer! The unit was equipped with everything. The clubhouse was beautiful. Two restaurants on-site. The pool was amazing! The spa was the best (the cold plunge is a must)! Rented bikes, they offer half-day, full-day and weekly rates. Staff were really friendly. The ONLY con is that the beach is a few mins away (not walkable). Other than that, amazing stay and everything we expected and more!

We had an amazing experience with our young kids and their grandparents. It'll be a memory we'll cherish for a long time. Luckily our cottage was without major issues, and the fact that there were geckos and some wildlife in and around the cottage at times didn't bother us. This is in fact a tropical island and Kauai, after all. Still tremendously well kept properties. The set up is ideal for families and/or folks interested in golf trips. The property is sprawling, picturesque, and tremendously available. You can walk or golf cart wherever you'd like. We found it without major crowds even during peak child/summer break visiting times. This is likely due to the high number of owners who don't rent and the higher price cost. It was very peaceful but just enough other families around. There's a few adult only areas (pool, etc) for those honeymooning or getting away from their kids. The pool area next to the lodge/club and the spa are the two shinning stars. The pool is actually multiple pools, none too deep, and two different hot tubs of differing temps. The small tube slide is a hit for kids and adults. There's no lifeguard so beware but the average 3' depth makes it easier for parents to relax more (but still monitor!). The spa experience was amazing. It was one of the best massages I've ever had -- probably number two! -- and amazing spa benefits and layout, too. Believe it or not the $75 per day cost just to use the facilities is worth it between the steam room, sauna, hot and cold pools, and awesome treats. Highly recommending going through the self-guided multiple step traditional treatment. Don't worry the gym is free! Btw, they have a full selection of their own Peloton shoes. You don't need to bring your own. Tons of classes and personal trainers if you'd like. The daily activities are fun for kids. Make sure to sign up in advance. The club restaurant is fairly good as is the pool restraunt and bar but it's worth adventuring and cooking in -- the farm/farm stand has lots of free bounty each day. Go visit it!The staff were all super welcoming, friendly, and helpful. It's a laid back place but attentive (e.g., every 3rd day house-keeping). You'd do best to seek them out if you need it, and know it's not going to be immediate texts back to concierge. It's island-life style but still luxury stay vibes. Cottage is great set-up for in-laws/grandparents with separate Ohana king beds. Second bedroom in cottage itself can be made into twin beds. Very nice kitchen and living areas. Showers awesome and fun outdoor showers if geckos don't weird you out. Only wishes are for longer hours on the gym (closes at 6pm or 7pm some days, one day early at 5pm), and some easier EV hook-ups. This was a great use of our Hyatt points. We stayed her previously in a Villa for non-points, and it was wonderful for our family there, too. We'll be back!

We have stayed here multiple times. This was our fifth trip. On the positive side the staff is first rate: helpful, welcoming and attentive. The facilities and pool set up is outstanding (although our older grandsons would like bigger water slides). We had two units for our trip this time and one was very good. the second 1 BR unit felt dated with stained upholstery and did not have dedicated wi-fi making for spotty connections and difficulty to impossibility to get any work done. For the prices charged, they should have a more uniform and higher standard to their units We love the area and quieter than Poipu. We also experienced a drop off in the quality of the pool side restaurant. In the past I would have given a 5 star review, but were disappointed this time around with one of the units and some of the food service.

Although beautiful, VERY dirty. We are in Villa 1. $7K a night. Cockroaches, King Spiders, Beetles. Non stop. The GM, Andy, of Destination Hyatt, is of no help. They said they sprayed for pests and cleaned but we came home to more bugs. Including one in my bed. I find them crawling on my clothes that are hanging. It is incredibly sad and frustrating. This villa is not well kept. Our amazing vacation is ruined. I've stayed in Hawaii many times and never encountered this. Do not stay here! I asked him to move us to another villa or to the Hyatt down the street. He emphatically said no. Poor management. I am so so upset.

They place was absolutely beautiful and our check in and out process was flawless. We loved the pool and the convenience of the property to the beaches and other excursions. The food was good, but we felt like outsiders for the most part. It’s a “private club” so if you aren’t members they know and seem to treat you a little differently. No one was mean, just not over accommodating like other places we have stayed. They seemed apathetic. The grill was broken at our place and when we reported it, someone came and fixed it quickly. So their response time was great. They left a nice gift basket for us for our inconvenience.. even though a few items were expired. It was a nice touch.
