Worst rental ever , rubbish under the seat remote key needed new battery would not sometimes open the door or start the car windows filth could not see at night very hard to drive safely. Called so many times no one there to answer phone. Feel bad for it looks like there is only one person to do all the jobs so Hertz should either give more support to the one employee or close the franchise.

Fast and friendly service. They were really helpful at the desk the several times I popped by for questions. I was in and out within a few minutes for pickup and dropoff.

It took 25 minutes to be served. Service was fast, and pleasant.The SUV was in excellent condition, and served us perfectly. Return was easy and super fast.

I don’t write reviews often but Maile and Carley we’re exceptional to deal with! Top notch customer service, super quick pickup and drop off process, and they even upgraded our rental to a convertible! Thanks so much for making our vacation that much better.

Placed $1000 hold on my card for a 1 day $92/day rental, then charged the rental twice at $100 each pop! Called them directly and no one answers the phone. Either these people are grossly incomptent, or they are thieves. Go elsewhere to rent!

Rented from this Hertz on a first ever Maui vacation and it was wonderful! The car was clean, in perfect condition and ready an hour ahead when we arrived early for pick up during spring break. What a great experience for myself and family!!

I just rented from here and it was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I had an appointment to pick up my car at noon and when I arrived, the staff had already left. I had to call the main Hertz number and move my appointment to the next day. The next day the staff showed up half an hour late which led to a line of people waiting for their cars. They didn’t have cars available for most of the people in line in front of me despite them having reservations. Thankfully we got our car. On returning it we were told we had to use and pay for valet service. Just one more fee. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I found the best car rental rate in Maui at the Hertz location in the Hyatt Regency Maui, and it was very convenient to pick up and drop off. Gal at the counter was friendly and helpful. I didn’t care much for the Chevrolet Equinox though.

Made a 1pm pick up appointment, show up at 1pm and worker left note that she will be back at 1:45 from lunch.After waiting 45 minutes, Carly comes back from lunch to tell us there are no cars available. Did not apologize or ask how she can help us just told us nothing is available.Horrible customer service, horrible communicate, we paid for car in advance yet could not be guaranteed a car. Get a better system!

Definitely a bad place to rent a vehicle. Even you have reservation, no change for a car. Even you get one, the car is not safe.

Choose somewhere else! Rented a vehicle two months in advance. Upon arriving at Hertz they said our vehicle would not be ready for the next day or two because it rained and they couldn’t clean it (rained that morning, stopped by 9am). We had tours planned so we rented from Budget just up the road for less money, better customer representative, and within 15 minutes from our phone call asking for a vehicle we were on the road. Do not use Hertz if you want reliable and friendly service.

Absolutely horrible service. We booked online and when we came to pick up the office was closed, even though we called Hertz to make sure it will be open. Then Hertz customer service sent us to another location and when we got there they said sorry so sad but too bad for you we have no cars left.Called back customer service and was told to send an email with receipts and they would at least reimburse our Uber to the second location and the hotel ... Did NOT get reimbursed. Filled a BBB report and the business said we don't care and will not be reimbursing your losses. It's a shame businesses can get away with treating customers like trash. BBB documented but can't force them to honor their commitments.Will NOT be giving my hard earned money to Hertz again!

I don't like leaving bad reviews and I really tried to give this Hertz location a chance. I reserved a convertible for the first day of our trip as it was my mother-in-law's first time to Maui...they didn't have a convertible and instead offered a Dodge Challenger. I took it as I needed to get some groceries for our stay. We had a second (one-week) reservation scheduled to start the next day for a full-size SUV as I had 7 family members with me. I asked the rep when I could pick it up and he said there here should be cars coming in at 4pm but to come back the next morning. I arrived at the office at 8:30am the next day to turn in the Challenger and they had no cars available (people in line in front of me were already disgruntled). My reservation was for 11am, and the rep suggested I come back at 12pm. Since I had already turned in the Challenger, I had to take a shuttle back to my hotel and then back to Hertz again. When I arrived at Hertz, they offered me a Nissan Maxima. I explained that I needed a vehicle for 7 people (per my reservation) and he couldn't guarantee they would get anything for me to use. Ultimately I ended up canceling my reservation and requested a refund. It's hard to stay upset when you're in Maui, so I made other plans without the rental car. However, just a warning to others that this location is very unorganized and wasted a lot of my vacation time. I hope they don't do the same to you.

First off, if you're flying into Kapalua airport, Hertz offers no shuttle service. You'd have to take a taxi or Uber to their location which is located at the Hyatt Regency hotel, just past the registration desk. Secondly, when you call, the agent answers the phone, Hello? I asked his is this the Hertz rental office, he answers, Yes. This is a very unprofessional! Secondly, after the check in process and you get your keys, it's a long walk to the lot, that is not clearly flagged as the Hertz car lot, and hopefully it's not raining or the lawn sprinklers are turned on otherwise you and your luggage will be wet! Lastly, the car issued to me wasn't cleaned or sanitized. There was a smell of the previous persons perfume also. I don't think I'd like to rent from Hertz again. I'll stick to Avis or Budget. Aloha!
