Stopped in to get a buddy of mine on the mainland some goodies. Specifically, he was looking for a HIC license plate frame. The two employees here were super cool and helpful. It was a bit confusing as the map took us to the outside of the Lahaina Cannery. We didn't realize at first that it was located inside, which is almost like a mini mall. Anyhow, they had a small section of Hawaiian Island Creations items, but also had exactly what I was looking for. I wouldn't hesitate to return when specifically looking for HIC product. They did carry other brands as well. Billabong, O'Neil, etc. They also had various surf accessories and body boards as well. I'll return, the next time I'm in Maui.

Met a 16 year old Hawaiian man up the mountain road that lead to the dead end at the coffee plantation: Kakaalaneo Drive has a great view of the waters of Moku Ho'oniki, Moloka'i below. He was parked with a 6 month old puppy on a leash an a girl with a 3 foot high glass bong. He had on a flowered shirt and a surf board company logo on his hat, with a styling pair of board shorts. We pulled up in front of the two cars and got out to look at the bay. "Nice bong" I yelled, smiling. "What?" "Nice bong" I yelled louder, smiling and leaning down to pet his dog. He laughed nervously. I told him I had a woodworker son from Vermont, and those guys craft some massive instruments. He realized I was harmless and I asked him some questions."Where's a cool place to get some water shoes and some sun shirts?" I asked. "HIC, dude, down in the mall off Front Street, lots of shops and and I like HIC. Cool people and good stuff." I thanked him and he flashed me a Shaka which I returned.Found a spot and spent almost an hour in the store. Gavin is a terrific man, and told me there were less expensive water shoes that were just as good as the ones I had selected. He suggested sale items and helped my wife find sizes. I bought useful beach stuff and cool souvenir t-shirts for my kidsThese are really cool people, they have a great selection and expert product knowledge. When they didn't have Croakies for my wife's sunglasses, Gavin started to call other stores. A customer offered his, saying he had just gotten two pair at work and didn't need the one he was giving her.Highest recommendation. I will be coming back again before I leave.

My son is taking surf lessons so I was looking to buy him a board. My friends in Kihei said I needed to go to the Cannery Mall store, so did and boy, were they right! Gavin was super helpful and explained all the options to me since I am just trying to help my son even though I know nothing. Gavin was super patient and knowledgeable about product as well as surfing. He got me a great deal on a 8’ board and even helped load it in my truck. So helpful! Fantastic customer service! Worth the drive from Kihei!

Quality/Quantity - Got my daughter a new pair of Hurley swimming board shorts @ 75% off for approximately $20+, what a deal. They were also giving out free "vaxxed" Hawaiian style stickers. Atmosphere - Small local shop. Service - Excellent, the team member was friendly. Price - $20+. Owner Comment - Great hook with your advertising "75% blow out sale sign"!! I think I see the same sign every year, lol.

We were in need of swim trunks for my son and dad. The gentleman working ( who went to art school on SF) was incredibly helpful. He helped with dressing rooms, and was incredibly polite. We had a wonderful chat during our purchase about the mall, he asked questions about us and genuinely wanted to know the answers. He was very kind to my son who is autistic. It was a wonderful experience and great selection to boot!

Nice products, but I did not need to be greeted at the door with “Let me sanitize you.” Then you kept watching us like we were going to steal something. My son wanted to buy 3 shirts, otherwise I would have walked out. Try being friendly. As a visitor shopping you give the friendly people of this island a bad rep.

I went shopping there today and asked about their spend $40 get $20 sale and they told me you can apply on separate transactions so I did that. They after paying for everything the manager said “ next time if doesn’t work like that - we are trying to stay in business”. I just spent $300 there in the last two days . You should appreciate your local business or not have sales if your going to be mad when customers take advantage of the sale!

Amazing service and definitely had the aloha vibes here. Gavin was very nice and helpful and we walked away with two new swimsuits which my husband loves. It was just a great experience for people on vacation and had everything you will need for swimming.

Staff is super friendly and helpful. Great selection of shirts, hats, surf gear and everything you'd expect from an HIC. I bought a few hats and a Billabong bag with a joke for a side pocket, wish I would have checked that before using it. If you're visiting this is a great spot to pick up gifts or stuff for the beach.

I ordered through Amazon, since I'm now quarantined with COVID 19 from working as a nurse and live on the Mainland US. That said, I am grateful to have a job right now so I try to spend some money here and there to support businesses during this time. I prefer to shop locally and was impressed when I saw the tribal prints - like no other that can be found on high or low $$ brands. I ordered a 28 knowing it was too small, and ended up being so impressed that I ordered two pairs to fit my 150 lb, 32 waist. lol. I will probably donate the first pair to someone who will appreciate them. On the third order, it took less than a week to make it from HI to the Virginia Beach, VA area. I appreciate that they seem to remember, even online, repeat buyers. I am most pleased to support a Hawaii-based company that ships free/for less to Hawaiian islands and seems to do most business locally. Please keep using Amazon, however, for those of us on the Mainland. I'd love to be in Hawaii right now but my dream trip to Maui will have to wait until we're allowed to leave our houses. Would consider buying a bodyboard from there but I suspect our beaches will be re-closed, which they should be, for now. Maybe next summer! (17th Street Surf Shop is our equivalent.)
