My 3 kids and I had a private lesson with Kain, and it was the highlight of our trip. We had expert instruction before we hit the waves, and once in the water, it was go time where all of us caught our first waves with his help, and the fun never stopped. Highly recommend this company for all your surfing lessons and outings. Can’t wait to come back. Mahalo Kain and company.

Jason was a perfect teacher for my son and me- he was friendly, funny, patient and clearly knew his stuff. Such a good teacher, in fact, that my son got up the first time he tried. Me? Not so much ? But Jason was so great at helping me adjust what I needed to until even I was able to ride the waves! He also went above and beyond to recommend spots to visit on our trip to Hana, where to rent boards for the day, and the best places for newbies to surf. So grateful for this experience. 1000% recommend Rivers to the Sea!!

What a great experience for our whole family! We were group of 5 so they added a second instructor at no extra charge. Everyone in our group was able to stand up :). My 19 and 13 year old are planning a second lesson before we leave the island!

Our two boys ages 18 and 16 did a semi-private lesson w/ Jason. They had a lot of fun, learned tons of tips, and were able to have some success out there. Highly recommend!

We signed up for the semi private lessons for both my kids. They are first time surfers. Jason is awesome at keeping us updated with the surf conditions. He’s very patient and tries to ensure both kids are getting equal attention. They had a blast and caught some small waves! We’ll definitely come back and do this again with Jason.

We arrived in Maui with 3 surf boards thanks to Toro. We wanted to have surf lessons to make sure the fundamentals were set. Lizzy was terrific!!!! The whole family caught waves and stood up. She worked hard to make sure we were safe and had a great experience. She also passed on knowledge for where to go for the rest of our trip. We definitely would recommend to others wanting to try out surfing.

Our 17 year old girls booked a private lesson and had the best time ever! They said it was the highlight of our 3 week vacation. The instructor was friendly with the girls, and got them up on their first wave! Such a fun morning, the picture they take for you to purchase was the icing on the cake. We will definitely do this again on our next trip!

We came to Maui from Alberta Canada….Kody, was our instructor for our boys ages 14 and 8. He was AMAZING with them!!! So patient and great at explaining things and taking care of them! The boys had an awesome time and got up Several times throughout their session!! His buddy Andrew took photos to capture these great memories!! We would highly recommend this company for surf lessons. They are great communicators, friendly and personable! Thanks for making our boys first surf session an awesome memory!!!!

My 17-year-old son had never surfed before but wanted to try while in Maui. I was able to find Rivers to the Sea and booked a private lesson online. They did a wonderful job in communicating with me via phone, email and text. Izzy was his instructor and was absolutely wonderful. She did such an amazing job, he was able to stand up on his first try! He had an incredible time. Thank you, Izzy and Rivers to the Sea. In addition, they had a photographer there to snap some pictures, which I was super appreciative of.

Great service, fantastic instructions from pro surfer Eric in a private lesson. Felt extremely safe. Instructor really was a blessing to have at age 43 to learn surfing 101’s and it was fun. Maybe I’ll finally take up Surfing in LA

We worked with Eric and had a lesson for all 3 of my kids. He was clearly passionate about surfing and excited to have new learners. He was super patient, thorough and worked really well with the kids. All of the kids were out on surf boards quickly and were standing up on the boards even on their first tries. They had a blast and came out excited and asking when they can go again. Also loved that there is a photographer on site so you can actually get close-ups of the kids while they are surfing. A fantastic experience for our whole family!

Great time! I have been surfing for a year or so, but my brother has never gone. Visiting Maui on vacation, I decided to sign us up for a lesson and I would say we both had a great time. The conditions on the day we went out was not ideal and pretty poor. however Jason, our instructor, reached out to me to keep me updated with location and moved the lesson to a better spot not much further from where it says to meet online. Jason provided booties for protecting the reefs and ocean floor, and rash guards which help when riding a soft board. Jason was very friendly and even gave good advice and tips to even myself to improve. My brother was able to ride multiple ways, including the very first wave he attempted! You can also buy more professional shots of yourself, since an iPhone won't capture as well due to how far out the waves are. If you're looking to learn or want to take a lesson, Rivers To The Sea is definitely a place to do it!

First time trying a surfing lesson; Dad (me) and 4 kiddos ages 20-32. Instructor Jayson got us warmed up on the beach and assigned boards based on perceived athletic ability lol. Windy day but Jayson did a great job of finding the right spots to catch the best waves. Would definitely use them again! Also, photographer takes a ton of pics that can be purchased and then Airdropped to your phone.

We all had a fantastic time learning from Kain. All 4 of us got up on the first go with his help. By the end of the session, most of us were on our own while he kept us safely corralled from the experienced surfers while making sure we didn’t drift off with the current. Great day!
